5:26 I agree, I love shows like Bleach and Naruto but getting into other anime genres like CGDCT, Slice of Life, and horror sort of broadens your horizon and what makes anime interesting to watch. Nothing wrong with liking them but thinking that's all what anime has to offer is wrong.
I think that "it's so bad it's good" equates to: "this show/IP totally flopped at what I assume they were trying to do, yet is enjoyable in ways that I do not think were intended"
I'd modify the shounen one to: Shounen fans need to stop acting like their taste in shows is the be all and end all of anime. Just because there aren't any Shounen Jump shows airing it doesn't mean anime has fallen off
Yeah. I'm fine with letting people love and watch what they want, but it's disappointing when people don't want to exercise some curiosity and check other genres for shows they could potentially enjoy. That disappointment turns to annoyance when they trash on other genres or act like only their favorite is worth watching. At least watch other stuff before trashing people's tastes. This applies to any fan of any genre in any medium acting like this.
5:47 I kind of agree with this take, I used to be a hardcore action only, Jojo, dragon ball, y’know, but watching a romance changed my entire viewpoint and now action stuff isn’t very interesting anymore
Same i started with shounen anime but after watching 5 of them i got bored so switched towards psychological, comedy, mystery and isekai ( of course good ones ) and two of the isekai's i watched are in my top 10 The fact i am not able to watch Shonen anime as if my all interests are gone Well still following bleach TYBW
"so bad its good" only really works for comedy. Its shockingly bad and that's what makes it funny. You can't have a "so bad, its good" show that makes you cry or be horrified for any reason other than it physically hurting to watch, which I would not consider a good thing. So its basically saying its unintentionally funny or captivating, like a car crash or other accident, watching someone fumble a conversation with a guy/girl they like, or someone being unbelievably shit at things that should be easy. At a certain point, once the shock goes away, it just becomes painful and/or boring to watch
tbf I had just woken up and was still half asleep when I made that tweet so I apologize if it sounded stupid. But basically I guess all I was trying saying is that I just find people saying "It was so bad that it was good" kinda weird, cause at the end of the day these types of media are made to create entertainment and if a person did genuinely enjoy a show and had fun watching it and then say its only cause of how bad it was that they liked it, then is that really fair? I mean, that piece of media achieved its goal of entertaining you even if it is "bad", like everything is subjective, including someone's opinion on a generally considered "trash" show, so yeah you might as well admit that it was good enough that you genuinely enjoyed it, you don't really need to add the "Oh yeah it was trash, and thats why I liked it" or something like that. All i really meant is that I don't think the inherently negative sounding part of "its so bad its good" is needed if you liked and enjoyed something. If this still sounds stupid asf then feel free to cook me over this.
6:46 I’m half on this, as I although yes bolder ideas can certainly be entertaining, great basic one will always be better than a good crazy one, people seem to think just because it’s different it’s better (or sometimes worse)
9:56 I 100% agree like share what u love and hope more people feel the same and on that note everyone should watch and read the 100 girlfriends who really really really really really love you, cause season 2 comes out in January and I need season 3
5:15 I understand why he would think that, but I really dont think its true. I think dragon ball is very generic by todays standards considering it has its DNA is basically every shonen that's come out in the past 30 years, but I think that does more to show how influential it really is. People now just want stories that are different which is why things like chainsaw man, jjk, and kaiju no.8 are the new age shonens that a lot of people really like, and are barely in the same genre of the older shonens like dragon ball, hunter x hunter, and Naruto.
It's entirely dependent on who you talk to. There's some that literally deify DB and its storytelling and there's others that will completely ignore anything good it does
i feel like something can have bad writing and be entertaining ending up been "so bad its good" or you can enjoy how bad something is, like the pick n pay original yoghurt
Video game industry has not stagnated like the others, unless you mean AAA specifically. We are living in the best age for games and there are literally too many incredible indies that you can't even play them all in time.
My anime hot take is that Kill La Kill overstays its welcome. It would be even better if they had started season 2 with a time skip or something, and told the viewer "hey things are really bad at this point, so let's wrap this up."
Hot take : animation is really important for an anime as much as the story. Its literally called "anime" and i love seeing the creative artstyles and smooth animation.
At the same time people act like it's trash if an anime doesn't receive animation at the level of the best animated shows. Hot take: character model consistency and good story boarding are more important than smooth animation and creative artstyles (obviously you'd want a combo of everything though)
Bears are doing alright but with the NFC North looking like the strongest division I just can't see them making any real playoff push for a couple years
I don't like harems or certain rom-com animes because they make the MC dense and a nervous, blubbering wreck and easily get the girl(s) he desires with little effort. I like quality over quantity and there was this show called Insomniacs After School which took my interest.
It isn't hot take, but is so annoying sometimes when people talk about "anime" but meanwhile meaning only shounens (+ 3-4 other super popular shows), like all others variety of genres doesn't exist.
The Shounens, along with a couple few from other genres, are usually the ones that just so happen to be damn popular & hyped up back then or even now. Smth like sports or romance isn't comparable.
I think the best lengths is something like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. 50-60 Episodes. Enough place to go in detail with stuff and tell a big story with a good thought out end but short enough so it isn't filled with empty worthless shit. Sadly this format is barely used anymore.
Dragon ball is 100% only talked positively about by either people who relate it to its history or people who grew up with it. Idk anyone who thinks it’s anywhere near as perfect as the fans but it’s cool fs.
Got jumpscared by the Kendrick take lmao, didn’t see that coming.
Went into the comments to see if my take was even mentioned before the vid started
And it's the first comment LMAOOOOOOOOO

Bro is mad underrated
Good UA-camr M.a.a.d. Underrated
So true bro

So bad it's GOOD
Literally what was the point in that Hot take it's neither hot nor a take it's basic reading comprehension
Honestly LMAO
A better way to phrase it would be, “not everything that’s entertaining has to be good, but most things that are good need to be entertaining

*sigh* time for my Homie Damian slop
Tbh he’s the only UA-camr I can watch without getting bored
I'm Latino and my favorite complement for basically everything is white rice. That said, Idk if our recipe is the same as others
Hot Take: The Homie Damian is the homie
6:46 I’m half on this, as I although yes bolder ideas can certainly be entertaining, great basic one will always be better than a good crazy one, people seem to think just because it’s different it’s better (or sometimes worse)
6:40 as if we didn't get a shounen romance supernatural mecha magical girl horror comedy started just the last week.
Bro it just started. Let the anime onlys peep the genre vending when the show gets to it. Then they're really gonna know
And technically yet one just finished one week ago - Dead dead demons dededede destruction
P.s ok it is seinen probably, but who really cares))
9:56 I 100% agree like share what u love and hope more people feel the same and on that note everyone should watch and read the 100 girlfriends who really really really really really love you, cause season 2 comes out in January and I need season 3
What we've been waiting for!!!

@@Ash_Wen-lilotgh pfp? W
Yeah just look at musashi gun
@@Ash_Wen-liThat second take is the worst minus the storyboarding 😭
Exactly like bro, it's visual story telling. The visuals need to be at least decent.
Loved the video papi
Bears are doing alright but with the NFC North looking like the strongest division I just can't see them making any real playoff push for a couple years
hot take:
one piece would have been better if usopp permenently left the crew at water 7 until after the time skip
I don't like harems or certain rom-com animes because they make the MC dense and a nervous, blubbering wreck and easily get the girl(s) he desires with little effort.
I like quality over quantity and there was this show called Insomniacs After School which took my interest.
That was just a straight up wholesome romance
Fact:
Seven Deadly Sins would've done better if its animation quality stayed the same.
Hot take: it's ok to not be a fan of the big 3.
6:33 - just watch Dead dead demons dededede destruction - it is really cool and unique at the same time.
It isn't hot take, but is so annoying sometimes when people talk about "anime" but meanwhile meaning only shounens (+ 3-4 other super popular shows), like all others variety of genres doesn't exist.

0:54 agreed, kaguya is too good imo. Dangers in my heart is good, but not at the lvl of kaguya.
Dragon ball is 100% only talked positively about by either people who relate it to its history or people who grew up with it. Idk anyone who thinks it’s anywhere near as perfect as the fans but it’s cool fs.
