I still prefer my Timemore Black Mirror Nano with its angled display for use with Flair 58. It allows me to position my pressure gauge in such a way that requires minimal head movement when switching between weight, flow rate, and pressure. It also fits more nicely within Flair 58 base and costs just a third of Hiroia Jimmy.
I kinda love and hate mine lol. Same thoughts on how beneficial the detachable display is, cool but limited in actual use. It also gets a bit annoying when cleaning or moving it around, I feel like i need to be really delicate with it. Otherwise it’s been a trusty daily driver. Would love to try a Acaia one day to compare myself. 🤷🏻♂️
Do you have an idea if you could you program the scale to act as an alarm when extraction time/ weight is reached? Maybe even give a sound warning couple of seconds prior like a countdown sort of thing ?
i wonder if it fits the flair pro 2 as well? … and if it will be able to connect with the Decent and/or smart espresso profiler? if it’s only with its own app, like the timemore dual sensor seems to be (i might be wrong) then it’s kinda unfortunate and long term useless … but thanks for the review!!
It won't fit the pro 2. I don't have one but I have both Flair 58 and Flair Pro 2. My timemore black mirror nano narrowly fits the Pro 2 and has ample space in 58. Seeing how this scale barely fits the 58, I don't think it has a chance of fitting inside the Pro 2 base. It might be wide enough to be placed on top of the base but then you would need to use a very short glass.
@@blacksterangel that makes sense, thanks for your response! ... i also just looked up the timemore nano : had never heard of it! wow, interesting! cheers :)
@@nat2world If you're looking for a scale that fits Pro 2, I would suggest Wacaco Exagram which is about the same length as the Nano but about 3 cm narrower. It would fit underneath the Pro 2 (without drip tray) better and cost less. Timemore Nano would fit too but since it's very sensitive, you have to make sure that none of its corners touches the machine as even a slight touch would register in the scale. However, the Nano does have a flow rate measurement which is very useful when you want to do flow profiling with a manual lever machine. In my case, I placed it on top of the drip tray with about a third of its length hanging (doesn't affect the measurement in any way). Good luck
