Have just discovered your excellent videos; they are superbly clear. Would you be willing to do an extended video on why the Hypotheses in Parmenides address the third man argument? I did not completely follow what you said about that. I am looking forward to working through all your videos.

Well, it turns out translation is everything. I did not have a copy of your Taylor translation, but I did have a copy of the Cornford translation - and although I've done fairly well with the standard Jowett translations up to now, he absolutely lost me in the Parmenides. The dialogue was still difficult to complete, but your videos helped me get a little more out of it. The multiple proofs seem to point to the fundamental concept that the one contains absolutely everything including all the consequences of all arguments. One nugget I found in the Cornford translation that spoke to me was: "Now since the one is in time and has the property of becoming older and younger, it has a past, a future, and a present. Consequently the one was and is and will be, and it was becoming, is becoming, and will become." The early Church Fathers transformed this into, "As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end," in reference to the Holy Trinity being One. It's a beautiful concept in either context. Thanks again and be blessed.

Yes, it's a tough dialogue. I am glad my videos were a help. Actually, I'll be putting out a video next week focusing on the 1st hypothesis in Parmenides.

Definitely something to be further puzzled through. I thoughtParmenides’ claim to fame was that he was an incorporeal monist who maintained that all the universe is permanent and unchanging unity, not sure yet what to make of this. I thought I knew what the dialectic meant as it is all over the subject of Philosophy old and new. Oh well, more study and better figure it out too cause there’s something here I’m missing and I’m probably not the only one. Interesting talk.

Have a look at the comment that I made on the previous video about Plato's Parmenides.
Or if you're capable of reading in Italian, read some of the papers that I uploaded on academia.edu, and in particular the one with the title "Aborted Modernism (The notion of relativity during the treatment of the notion of time in Plato's Parmenides)".
