It should be a human right to choose what to believe or not believe without consequences. If this had been the case back in my day, I would have left at 20. I could not and ended up self-brainwashing to be able to fit in. That was so harmful. As it was, I left at 33 when I was a more self-reliant individual - and researched again even more. Even then, it rocked my marriage a little, but my husband came to see what I was seeing and left it too. I was lucky!
The Watchtower is so self contained, a seriously flawed bubble with dire consequences. I was in this bubble for 47 years and so glad to be out. The past 24 years have been liberating. I feel sorry for anyone trapped in this religion.
When I studied with these guys I said i would continue as long as it was bible study not watchtower torment. It lasted only 2 studies without their crutches (watchtower)
Wonderful...thank you for sharing. Thank you to all my fellow ex JWs who are trying to help others. When Lara got emotional talking about the kids being harmed mentally and emotionally.... just as our generation was..... I felt that. Exactly what motivated me to do 'something' to help today's kids. We can't get back our lost time.... but we can help today's kids!
brilliant show and the comment ''who wants to live with jw's forever'' is the most precious thing that gets many people....jw's are fake and so depressing to be around
@@astridmiller7938 I think that Lara stole the show for this panel. Because of your comment I will prepare to highlight her in the next video with her brilliant activism
Should all take in the history of the cult from Russel, interim, joe rutheford. If your brain is working, you'll understand why you can't stop pukeing.🎉
I plan to make a Lara focused cut from the panel discussion. The panel is 45 minutes long so this only covered 30% or so. She offered a lot. She's done an impressive amount for the cause.
I so don’t want to be critical, but who edited this? We get a generous dose of Scott talking followed by a very brief answer by Lara - then the interviewer goes straight back to Scott. If this is heavily edited, but why does it focus in the first part on the male? He’s articulate and passionate - but does he ever wonder if he’s getting the lion’s share of speaking? Also, his dismissal of the genuine rupture of emotions when you get disfellowshipped ( the film Apostasy for example). Be good and even excellent at what you do without putting down other films. Interview him alone - but don’t set it up like it’s a panel.
This is just a teaser to the panel focusing on WITNESS UNDERGROUND. If you'd like to see other parts of the panel please support the Decult Cult Awareness Conference.
Well God was the first to mention about shunning as something that hurts. In Genesis 3:15, he said to Satan that the Angels will be shunning him, when he said that he will put enmity between them.
even if that myth were true… who gave man the right to shun others? other imperfect specs of dust, shamming, shunning and condemning other imperfect specs of dust?
As an underground coal miner, I will tell you. Noah's art happened. There is no way trees and fossils that I found 1500 feet or more underground. Got there. As a born again Christian, I'm telling you as a coal miner. I know for a fact Noah's Ark. Happen

That's one of the major calls to action in the video as presented in audio and on screen text, to make it mandatory to educate because it clearly isn't happening.
I pray for the ones who are out, their is Jesus Christ his word is the truth in the Bible just read it, don’t need watch tower governor body to add , misinterpret, and delete gods word to control the people, fit their doctrine, shame on them for that , their punishment awaits them all for their deception, manipulation 😢
Great ! Every JW experience is different. We can't generalize every JW. Many JW are happy inside the religion. Others just want to get out of the religious organizations. JW has its rules, just like any other religion. Period.
I agree with all you say bar the very last part. JW do have it's rules but this is not biblical. This is poignant because they say they base their practice on the bible and the first century church but it blatantly not. Comparing JW rules and other religions rules, you will note that JW rules convene human rights and are much stricter/restrictive than most others.
@thetruthaboutthetruth75 they have their own theology based on the Bible. For instance, it's biblical. Is it right or wrong? Well, even theologians have big differences
The Watchtower religion and the way they relate to the outside world, the subtle directives given in the literature and talks at the KH that demonize questioning the Governing Body’s directives reminds me of the way the medieval Catholic Church acted toward nay sayers and people with doubts. Same legalism, same judgemental attitudes. They go beyond Christian ethics to enforce manmade rules and present these rules as coming from God himself.
A child born into JW does not have a choice about the rules. They never can consent. Yet they are subject to the rules and the punishments. I used to belong to a different church. When I left, there were literally no consequences. Your point would be valid that "everyone has rules" if informed consent was required to participate. This is not the case.

Many are happy in the religion. Let them be!
I feel sorry for anyone trapped in religion, and that statistically constitutes the vast, VAST majority of humans on the planet.
We are letting them be. They don't have any need to watch this video. For those who are struggling, we stepped up to offer support and solutions.
Glad your free! I too was trapped in. Born in and trapped for 40 years. Free now for 18 years.
