  • After the distraction of Cornwall, let's head back to the Capital now, with a series of 3 videos, and we start of with the elder E400, with a bus that has been east, west, and now north, we have Sullivan Buses E61.
LK08FNE was new in 2008, and was new to First London as DN33503, the third of what would be 63 Enviro400s delivered new to Dagenham (DM) garage, before then trapsing west to Greenford (G), then settling down at Uxbridge (UX) on routes 607 & U4. When First pulled out of London in 2012/2013, LK08FNE became Metroline's TE1571, being one of 12 of the LK08 batch to pass to Metroline. In late 2020, Sullivan Buses accquired the bus, where it became their E61 from their South Mimms (SM) garage, mostly on route 298 and school services.
Our old E400 journey is on the aforementioned route 298, which runs from Arnos Grove Station to Potters Bar Station via Waterfall Road, Southgate, Chase Side, Cockfosters, Hadley Wood & Stagg Hill. The route dates from 1968, serving as a replacement for the northern section of route 29, and all of the 29B, and at various times terminated at Turnpike Lane, Finsbury Park, Borehamwood, Clare Hall Hospital & South Mimms, and until 2017 had the distinction of having an extension only during Monday to Friday non-evenings that went to the Cranborne Road Industrial Estate.
E61 is powered by a Euro 4 Cummins ISCe8.3 engine coupled to a ZF Ecomat 5HP500 5-speed automatic gearbox. So, I hope my lovely viewers will enjoy an elderly E400 evidencing it's previous existence.
    Start: Cockfosters, Bramley Road
    Finish: Potters Bar Station
