Nice conversation. But there are so many contradictions in Allama Iqbal ideas. For a reader, it leads to confusion. The confusion we saw in our generation before internet.

@@syedbilal9965 If you have read Allama Iqbal you would have been able to notice. In short He remembers with sigh glorious muslim ages which precisely were the Abbasid time of scientific boom. Yet he opposed modern education and science. This theme is repeated many times in his verses. Thats what Pervez hoodbhoy said.
Having said that Iqbal is one of the most extra ordinary Urdu poets. No one can beat him the way he expressed his ideas.

@@syedbilal9965 Iqbal had studied in Germany, England. He had much more experience and understanding of the modern world of his times than any of us. His ideas are mainly retrospective. Meaning wanting to restore a lost glory. This theme itself is controversial.
      1. Was that glory, a legacy of subcontinental muslims?
      2. Has any nation ever achieved back its past glory?
      3. His opposition to nation state, which is the reality of todays world.
All these contradictions become hurdles for Pakistanis as well.
