PR and marketing are both important for building and maintaining a strong brand. PR focuses on building relationships and managing reputation, while marketing focuses on promoting and selling products or services. When PR and marketing teams work together, they can achieve more than either team could on its own.
I am a recent BA graduate and start a MA in Public relations this fall. I really enjoy the concept o public relations and marketing, but chose to go into PR as I preferred the concept of building brand trust and reputation, creating creative campaigns as apposed to working towards sales figures. However, I am now worried that i made the wrong choice as I can be a little shy at times and am not the person who can walk into a room with the confidence to walk up to everybody and start conversations. How important is this in terms of the networking side, and do you think I have made the wrong choice?
