Only the legs of the child was ever shown and THEY NEVER MOVED. I wonder if it was some kind of doll to aid in begging.

Sadly in many countries mother's drug their children so they lay motionless so the mother's can beg for money. Notice also that she said that she sits in the same spot every day. I hope this child was not drugged!
