Helloooo! Enjoy today's video! I have been batch cooking (and of course filming it) all week, it is SO FUN! My freezer has never looked so good 🤣 what else is good to prepare food wise for batch cooking? ❤️
Spag Bol,lasagne and cottage pie and I also do a chicken and ham or mushroom with leeks and I use a jar of lasagne white sauce- to make casserole or pies and that or the others I’ve mentioned, have Never let me down with freezing and consuming . Hope you are ok it’s getting scary now- you are imminent 😳🤯 Can’t wait for the next instalment. 😘💕
Pre baked potatoes in the freezer, veg soup, pasta and sauce dishes, mini pre made roast dinner. Date energy balls, nut cereal bars. Lots of carb dishes if your planning to breast feed
Thank you for all these great meal ideas! I’ve worked from home for almost 2 years and had lots of time to cook meals after working with no travelling, but now I work back in town so this is great for time saving, after travelling back I can whip these out of the freezer! Thanks!
Fantastic idea. I did similar but on a smaller scale for when I had my first vaccine (I didn't have energy for anything for 3 days). You can freeze rice as long as if you reheat it, you do it until it's piping hot
The vaccine went well, thanks. Luckily the tiredness and sore arm were the only symptoms I got. I grew up with my mum having never stopped cooking for 6 (even when there was only 4 of us) so batch cooking was just dinner
Fantastic video Sophe, this is such a brilliant idea for new Mum's to batch cook before their baby arrives, because I once baby is here there will be no time for cooking. However, like you said batching cooking is also good to prevent the struggle of figuring out what to cook for yourself or your family on a weekly basis. Thank you as always for sharing my sweet friend. Take care, keep safe and have a wonderful weekend 🤗💕
I batch cooked before I had my son in February and it was brilliant but my one bit of advice would be, save a few of them for when baby is a bit older as they were amazing when my partner went back to working, the adrenaline wore off a bit and the night feeds caught up, such a nice feeling to know there was still healthy food ready to go
Great video and so looking forward tothe batch cooking series, always handy to have your own made mesls stored in the freezer. Had I not just eaten my dinner, I would be feeling extremely hungry by now. Take care, get plenty of rest and see you soon xx
We do breakfast burritos for lunch and dinner as well. In America we have frozen potato’s O’Brien which are diced potatoes with bell pepper and onion, we use those in our burritos, it saves a bit of chopping. I highly recommend if you can find them.
You got a tremendous amount for your money Sophie! The dishes you talked about sounds delicious! Can't wait to see you doing the batch cooking . . . such a great idea! As always, TFS, stay safe, keep well and have a great upcoming weekend! 👍💖💖
Fab video Sophie, hope the batch cooking is going well. 🙂 We batch cook chilli and curry sauces, helps saves time when we need a quick meal. Pancakes can be batch made and frozen, the recipe I use makes around 12, we eat 6 and freeze the rest. Homemade onion rings and onion bhaji's are often batch cooked and saved in our freezer. Hope everything goes well when baby arrives.x
Oooo, I have been wanting to make my own onion rings and onion bbhajis - (huge onion fan), so I may do the same! Never homemade them so I have been procrastinating on them as I am worried they will be super difficult! Xxx
@@Sopherina they are fab, nice to have bhaji's to go alongside a curry and onion rings to go with some burgers and homemade chips. I also freeze raw chipped onion for use in sauces. Hope the batch cooking went well.x
I get frozen rice from Trader Joe’s and have never had a upset tummy from it. I love it because it’s just enough for me and hubby without a lot left over.
My go to dinner or lunch is a jacket potato for an easy meal well it was, the microwave decided to blow today! 🤣 Luckily we're ok just did smoke a lot and it's safely outside to be tipped now so it's the oven for us again for any hot food! Fab haul as always and so good to be prepared now! 👏😄💖
Well done Sophie looking forward to the cooking. Glad you pointed it out about the rice, I was really sick from eating rice from a pub, had to call the Drs out, all turned out ok but a horrible thing, rice is so cheap I never eat warmed rice. Good luck with the birth. Congratulations also xxx
Sheldons oven bottom muffins freeze really well! I dont often have white bread but they are super yummy for burgers and dont taste defrosted when taken out the freezer. Take it easy and enjoy the last bit of your pregnancy xx
Good thinking to do some big batch cooking sessions and get your freezer stocked ready for when the baby comes!! Your previous planning and cooking videos has stood you in good stead!! 😊❤️
Thanks for that Sofia, good luck with the imminent birth of your baby , hope all goes as easily as possible for you , will be thinking of you , take it easy for now xxxxxxx
For tomato soup that's just like the tinned soup try Mary Berry's 10 minute tomato soup. I often drop the sun-dried toms and the cream and add a big handful of lentils at the start. It's so good and so cheap and easy.
Looking forward to your batch cooking videos the recipes sound lovely, hope you Lawrence and bump are keeping well, make sure you get plenty of rest take care xx
I have been watching you for a while and am really enjoying the baby videos! I can't believe how quickly your journey has gone!! Alos, out of curiosity. Are you Vegan or do you just follow some of the rules? I'm not very knowledgable on the whole vegan eating so would be interested to know :)
8 months pregnant... and just been informed I’m going to be having a c section... and as a single mum, I’m not going to have chance to stand cooking. I’m going to try this instead! x
I love these meal plans! But did I hear you correctly when you said Lawrence adds a bit of coffee powder to chili? Sounds interesting! And how do you reheat the breakfast burritos? Hugs to you both!
Would you include in your batch cooking Lawrence making his bread recipe or perhaps do an individual one on that so we can see what he does and the end results thank you
Hey fab video chick as always cant wait for the cooking prep just be careful how much chilli u consume if ur breastfeeding. Can give baby a real runny tummy an upset tummy xxx but defo think ur bebe is here in next week xxxxx
Can’t wait for the batch cooking video,as I am trying to save my money and can I have the recipe for Lawrence bread please ,please don’t work to hard xx
I wasn't aware there was anything wrong with freezing rice? Is that just a personal thing for you that it makes your stomach hurt or have you heard something around the food safety aspect of it?
It's not just a personal thing, rice that has been cooked before and then reheated can give you a very uncomfortable tummy, I think it's something to do with it not being able to break down properly and carrying listeria xx
@@Sopherina everything I'm reading (and my anecdotal experience) says its completely fine to reheat rice. The problem is if you don't refrigerate it soon enough after cooking. But that's basic food safety. You can't leave cooked food on the counter for hours and expect it to be safe. www.bhg.com/recipes/how-to/food-storage-safety/leftover-rice-food-poisoning/ www.google.com/amp/amp.abc.net.au/article/everyday/11324446 www.food.gov.uk/safety-hygiene/home-food-fact-checker Of course everyone is going to do what makes them most comfortable but I cook and freeze/refrigerate rice all the time and have never once had an upset stomach.
Hi I freeze rice if cooked too much but u have to be very careful reheating rice. Frozen rice is widely available from supermarkets now but its disgusting i prefer boil in bag or dreaded microwave rice if cba cooking proper rice.

I hadn't really batch cooked before (not sure why) but it is a game changer and I plan to keep it up xxx

Thanks so much Lisa ❤️

I got myself a rice cooker , but it’s a 2 person one so no waste and perfect rice in 20 minutes every time , wouldn’t be without one now
Great video Sophie 👍🙌I'm getting excited that you and Laurence are going to be parents very soon😆take care 💗💞💕💕💕
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Lovely ideas i live on my own so batch cooking is the way to go economically. Just wondering how big your freezer is?
It definitely is economical, I plan to continue this! My freezer isn't huge, it's quite a standard size, 3 deepish drawers. Xx
Would love to see some more cooking videos of such meals.. I love batch cooking too 👍

Hi Soph looking forward to it x
would you do a video on only eating 24-hours of food from the middle of Lidl or the aisle in aldi? 👽👽
L I K E
I have frozen rice many many times it’s not a problem as long as it is cooled quickly
I wish I’d done this when I was pregnant but instead the first 2 weeks I lived on takeaways or just didn’t eat 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
You should be resting young lady xxx
Lots of resting in between🥰
wow too much sugar. I'm surprised. Should check the glycemic level of each ingredient. It may surprise you.
