I just came back to say that this has become the most important pedal in my board. It helped me create the arrangements I had in my head and was never able to get them out, until I got this. Thank you EHX!
I wanna ask you is there a way you can only hear the octave up instead of hearing both octaves like a normal octaver? Like for instance i wanna be able to play a high note on the e string that would be fret 30 can you set it to only hear the high notes instead of both the original and the high?
@@micoveliki8729 I know this is way after you asked, and you may have already got an answer to your question. By turning the blend knob, you can most likely go "full wet" with the effect, so that all you hear is the affected signal.
This is a ridiculously useful pedal. I play in a 2-man band doing lots of heavier stuff, often in conjunction with a looper. With the Pitchfork I can get a bass sound, loop it, then play over top. Also we do lots of tuned down (e.g. C# for QOTSA) and it's perfect for that. I also like the faux 12-string thing. I'm glad the sales guy talked me out of the POG.
Had my eye on a Whammy for many years. Recently been drooling over the Meris Hedra. But once I saw this demo, I realized this is the pedal with the sound and capabilities I’ve been craving all along. Just ordered one, can’t wait! 🤘
your implementation of that surprisingly useful device has caused me to dip into my mad money. I'm already slobbering with anticipation. love those chords towards the end,and the tasteful use of what sounds like one of EH's classic big triangle-ly phasor/ flanger thingy. nice
Well, EHX have great products at reasonable prices. I can't ever see paying $300 for a compressor pedal. $300 can get you 3 great EHX pedals and still have money left over for lunch.
Wow! This sounds far more natural than the POG2 or the Octron or anything else I've tried to get great tones. I think this will totally do it for simulating bass. I want this!
I’ve had my Pitch Fork for 10 years now and it’s still one of my handiest and favourite pedals that I use for every gig. It’s especially great for songs that are in low B or A tuning, saving the need for bringing a baritone guitar to a gig. I even once used it in emergency when playing bass at a gig and the bridge broke! Used the guitarist’s backup guitar, and set the pedal down 1 octave and hit the rhythm pickup with tone rolled off. Saved the day!
This pedal is amazing, I was stubbornly wanting the nano pog, and ignoring the features and quality of this piece of awesomeness. This pedal will be on my board promptly indeed.
Bill, that was great. I've had mine for about a year and love it. VERY versatile and dynamic. An amazing range of sounds and tones depending on mix, guitar pickup / volume & tone, pedal order and other pedal interplay. As demonstrated @ the 1:45 mark, when using it as a harmonizer, you must understand a bit of theory to be musical. Would love to see more Rupert videos - always unique and inspiring.
It simply HAS to be said....EHX you totally ROCK!! Thank you for making this wonderful world of guitar so much fun, and so acceessible..even to us always strapped working players!! Love this pedal, as with all your gear it really kicks :-)
I bought one of these earlier today because it was the only octave pedal I could find. I had no idea it was capable of so much more than I expected, and I'm super thrilled.
I remember in the 70's when EH had a store on 48th st.in NYC.The room or store was dark and it had a small stepup stage like a rehearsal studio, and some guy came out and would demo all the pedals EH had out at that time.I also remember seeing a Mesa combo, with a honey comb grill, maybe a MKIIC+ dont really know but it was loud as fuck.I remember becoming obsessed with the Deluxe Memory Man.So glad EH is still alive today!!!!Those are some great memories I have as a kid learning to play guitar..
cast390 I've been there many times. I miss the old 48th street guitar row. It sure has changed. Electro Harmonics also had a 1-800 number you could call and hear the different effects over the phone. Thinking late 70's early 80s.
Hank Horsecore because most guitarsists know shit about major 6ths. This is why I'm such a huge advocate of RELIGIOUSLY learning major scale harmony, so you can use all those cool ass extensions that nobody bothers with.
Awesome demo, thank you. You've shown exactly what the pedal can do technically and hinted at the artistic possibilities. Perfect showcase! I was 90% sure I wanted this but recently had a play with a friends Micro POG and it presented a dilemma. The whammy effect is the clincher. I can see me getting Muse type guitar histrionics with my Big Muff/Metal Muff and plenty of Royal Blood style shenanigans with my bass and Muffs. I'll get an expression pedal and an ABY splitter to complete the setup.
BEST. PEDAL. DEMO. EVER! ive honestly never been more sold. Look, it wasnt just the depth of the pedal, but the depth explored also. however, the pedal certainly does impress. i like the prospects of being able to change my tuning without stressing the strings....heres some context on that; I am an adhd person, so often at time i get real-in-the-zone, ill go from standard to drop A to half step up with a capo and then back down to a drop b or something in a matter of one minute entirely and my strings will literally break from tuning down. multiply this and much more by 3+ hours a day 7 days a week like i said, never been more sold.
STOP. SHOWING. ME. SO. MANY. AWESOME. PEDALS. I just bought the C9 and the Lester G. Now I have to get the pulsar as well. AND NOW the damn pitch fork too. I'M RUNNING OUT OF MONEY. I expect an endorsement deal if I ever go anywhere. I'm just sayin...
I use this pedal for harmonica. Mixed with my other pedals (Lone Wolf Blues Octave, Harp break, Reverb and the Soul Food) it gives the sound a little more depth. Set at the number 2 with the blend at 9 o'clock and the dual set to both
Glad to see this post. I was actually thinking of getting this pedal for that exact reason. I do a two-man blues punk thing with guitar and harmonica. I was wanting to get this so I could make my harmonica sound bigger during the other guy's guitar breaks and when I'm rhythm chugging.
OMG I love this. After 7 years of use my digitech whammy stopped working and I thought about getting a new version but not after seeing this. I now want the pitchfork. Its smaller and less expensive and has more options. Also I think it sounds cooler.
I got this pedal, its probably a little advanced for my current ability. I'm beginner level but its fun messing around with it. Need to get an expression pedal.
finally an ehx pitch pedal, .great presets!. I seem to hear the same sound / tracking of the "ring thing" pitch mode.. there is less latency compared to the "ring thing"? the "ring thing" has latency from - 1 oct and lower (at 100% wet) when playing fast riffs
I bought one some years ago and now it’s forever in my board. I can use just one guitar all gig, standard tuning, and we play Drop C, D songs (System Of a Down and even Slipknot). And I can also play Like a Stone just with a cheap Roland exp. EHX is the best (and I also have a Canyon in my board)!
Great demo !! I just got one of these mainly so I don't need to tune my guitar way down & have to use heavier strings than I want to but as u demo'd there are many cool uses for it.
Just when you think "well, this is it, I no longer feel like I need another pedal in my board..." EHX HAPPENS. EHX you are my Big Muff company: I love you guys, but sometimes I hate you... And sometimes I hate you for being so awesome.

To my understanding this pedal can drop or “rise” your tuning, this would be perfect for on stage not having to either tune up/down your guitar and/or swap out guitars? Great demo by the way!
I would say it's the next best thing. It is basically tracking the signal so it's not 100% an exact replica of what downtuning, but it's extremely close. It opens up tons of options. Add a bass line to a loop, add an octave up to a lead guitar, etc. I have one and it's extremely useful and aids in creativity.
That would be like dividing by zero.. you'd rip a hole in space time.. and do you want to cause a brown note? Because yes.. that is how you cause a brown note.

5:29-6:20. Most innovative use of a pedal I've heard in a long time. So f*ing sold.
yeah that section was really nice
EHX is really inovative. Instead of just creating another overdrive that try to imitate 1960's tube amps they create future-guitar sounds.
Mike Matthews / EHX is a pioneer. He is one of the small-handful who started all this Pedal Madness. Guy is a Legend.
Plus, they also have 1,000,000 overdrive pedals. The best of both worlds lol.
Pitch fork is actually a future-guitar sound by itself.
I use mine right in front of my Tumnus overdrive 😂🤣
Ive never seen such a convincing demo, hats off! Also +1 for Audioslave at the end

This is amazingly good pitch shift. Easily the best I have ever heard in a stomp box.
One of the best sounding pitch shifters I've heard!
Bill's fingerings are amazing. EHX does it again: another box we all have to have!
