Akso, a way to tell if oil is hot enough is get a drip of water and put it in the water if it sizzles it ready, if it doesn't it's not

Ok so I wanted to say why the chocolate burned:
If you were microwaving it you did it for too long of a time. To melt chocolate in the microwave use 15 second increments and when it’s almost melted 5 seconds. Then you’ll get smooth melted chocolate.
If you were doing it on the stovetop, you also did it too long. On the stovetop, watch it VERY carefully. And stir it quite often.
Edit: @Aireen Idriana pointed out that on the stovetop you could also melt it with butter but that’s optional.
