Great video. Quick question - do you get these games gratis?

While he doesn't pay for most games, he spends hours playing, reviewing, editing. It's work, fun, but work none the less. If he spends 4 hours on a 40 dollar game, it's hardly minimum wage in most places.

Royal M. The fact is, he gets games shipped to him on the daily from indie publishers, to commercial publishers, to print and plays. Probably close to a 100 games a month give or take. Since he gets so many, he also gets many copies of the same games. I'm also sure a lot of their collection was all free or they got a hell of a deal. I don't think he cares as he's only looking for specific titles due to his experience playing so many games everyday. Most games to him probably don't mean anything because he's never heard of them. He knows his publishers and designers and some artists, he knows what he likes and goes for that. At least this is how I would think of I was him. Besides these are his games but he only claims what he's knows he wants. Don't get me wrong, it is a bit cringy to watch sometimes, but I think that stems from us viewers having to actually pay for every game we own. Being in his shoes, it would be impossiple to know every game coming out plus playing them plus reading the rulebooks plus teaching them etc.
If I really was in his position, I'd give away alot of the games but also keep certain ones that contain components I could use for my game creations, as prototype pieces. It's one thing to love board games or a game designer but to play and design them while being a graphic designer and Illustrator; I'd be keeping some of the components for pure research and reference for inspiration. I'd keep rulebooks to breakdown the game the rulebook belongs to or pick out machanics in games that appeal to me and perfect them or utilize them to create my own that's different enough. Basically, watching every publishers move and take specific notes, track specific artists, and put together a focused and hungry team to take over THE BOARD GAME WORLD!!!!... ya I'm just ramblin' now lol... Peace!

Games are just things, not humans. They don't deserve any kind of respect.
