Will and Peter Anderson, “Sing, Sing, Sing” (Benny Goodman) at Birdland on 26th January 2025

The Anderson brothers are charming band leaders and wonderfully gifted musicians, so not a surprise that they put on a really fun show at the historic Birdland club off Times Square. I love the little stories they intersperse between the songs, and this is a good example.
If you're not a jazz aficionado, you may not be aware that the best seat in the house is generally behind the double bass player, so that you're view of the brass section is completely obscured by the piano. Thanks to Birdland for helping me to snag these coveted seats.
