When flat screen LCD and plasma first came out and the mounts were $300 and $400 the owner of my store Rick wright was a genius and went to home Depot and bought metal pieces very similar to this and we just ran them horizontal on the backs of the flat screens and charged them $350 for a mount instead of having to buy one that cost us $200 and we sold it for $300 to 400... it ended up costing us maybe $20 and we made $280 to 380 profit... Rick wright is a genius! Lol
Thanks for the video. We hung a headboard and your video was helpful!
You’re really good at this
Great job man. I love it when the level comes with hardware.
I used a smaller version of this for speakers back in the 90s.
I’m watching this video because I couldnt get the level to fit into the hanger. I’ve already installed this system before and it was a breeze. Turns out the hanger clips are off spec. I had to bend them with my pliers. There was no way that level was going to “pop in”. So frustrating. Otherwise, I love this set. I use it for hanging heavy wooden ink pad storage holders and it’s very stable.
Thanks for the video and info!
Great demo!
Wowow... INGENIOUS!!!
Great Idea
Which screws goes on the wall, the long ones?
Thank you!
Thanks!
Are these good for very large very heavy exterior signs?
I would check the weight rating, but otherwise I would say yes. It would need to be properly mounted for brick or other abnormal services
Hey Man, thanks to your video I am going to buy these brackets for a showcase for my collection of hot wheels, with these brackets is not much inclination for my car to slide forward?
On the painting we did it was pretty flush. It will also depend on the frame you use
How come on the package it says nothing about drill or stud? It says to just screwdriver them into drywall.
I would hit studs. Drywall can easily tear. They do have the drywall expander screw sets that go into drywall and expand but I don’t like them as much and would not trust them
Interesting to see the term "french cleat" used for these... to me, that term is about the wood ones. I wonder how these came to be called that, too.
(Not a complaint about you calling them this, by the way! If it's a complaint of anyone, it's whoever marketed these as french cleats, instead of, say, "picture cleats" or something.)
Do you pre drill for the studs?
Not for a stud, but if you have to put the Molly into drywall I do. You’ll see it in this video ua-cam.com/video/rP-FO5Zv0f8/v-deo.htmlsi=dnLG5WRHMqn2h99Q
Can the cleat be Gorilla glued into a wrought iron decor piece?
It would be best to anchor it with metal screws

👌🏻 Thank you for the quick reply, and for a great video‼️
How far would the frame be from the wall with this system?
They're advertised as an eighth of an inch thick when installed on the wall.
Very helpful ❤
Thanks
