This particular track gives me so much nostalgia I grew up with this game, I started off with the Orange Box for the 360 when I was 9 and it was just kind of my introduction to the Valve games It got me into TF2, it got me into Portal and Half Life, and one of the menu trailers got me into Left 4 Dead All of them amazing games and I never really give Left 4 Dead as much credit as I should These games were really my escape from reality in a displeasurable childhood situation It let me just delve completely into these worlds and forget about everything else, these games were what defined my childhood for me But the Half Life and Portal franchise are above all my favorite, they have my favorite gameplay and my favorite stories, and I love them so much. Sector Sweep is easily my best track, it's one of the most memorable for me other than Apprehension and Evasion. I would never forget this game, and I will remember it for the years to come.
hearing this theme over an intense chase was so amazing. Watching a zombie jump on ur car and get kicked off by Alyx was badass with this in the background
Well, Valve did say years ago that they where waiting on some revolutionary tech before releasing HL3 because the typical FPS genre was getting too old and they wanted HL3 to be as impressive as the previous titles The Alyx thingy is probably a test to see how well VR would work with the game

I like how the synths at the beginning overpower the muffled sounding real instruments for just a moment before the tables are turned and the synths are overpowered by them right as you exit the barn. Sometimes it’s hard to believe this music doesn’t have stems.
They were playing around with dynamic music in ep1 and ep2. Some tracks stop when combat is over. I think this is the earliest idea of stems being in Valve games.
Shit, I was playing the level with this music when suddenly police called me if I was involved in a car crash. During my gaming session my car was stolen and turned over in a ditch (luckily nobody hurt). I remember go and look from the window with this music still playing.
Picture this it's the seven hour war and your fighting the combine as the HECU all hell is being unleashed until you see an Abrams your fellow soldiers cheer in relief thinking it would push the combine back until a you hear stomping sounds of a strider your fellow comrades are preparing for the worst you grab your m240 waiting for the strider to come then the strider turns a corner you and your comrades come face to face with the strider with no hesitation your comrades start shooting at the strider the Abrams would aim it's cannon at the strider but the strider used the warp cannon blowing the Abrams up you are forced to retreat as the strider then comes closer to your comrades it would use it's warp cannon again to blow them up as your the last remaining HECU soldier in the squad you spray at the strider and the combine your m240 has its mag emptied you decide to run as the strider and the combine soldiers move closer to your position you would get shot by a combine sniper in the chest you would bleed out the last thing you would see are two Apaches flyby you close your eyes your story has ended to be forgotten for things to come.. (feel free to edit anything that didn't work and I'll add it in

The M240 is belt fed. It does not use magazines. My guess is that you mistyped M249, as that can take mags.
