yo great video. been self taught for over a year so watched thousands of videos. audio is clear but not uncomfortable, tips are specific, unique to u (from what I can tell), and you acknowledge examples of your style to show how to flavor n shit but also ways people can develop their own. Simple in content, but rly nuanced. dope vid man
An underrated tip for when you struggle: Try using the metronome as a reference to help you can place your rolls, not only will you get a better idea where it will sound good, but it can spark up some more ideas with the kick, percussion, etc
Guess I'll have to change my metronome sound.have it set to a high hat. It'll get pretty confusing with high hat rolls (which I never seem to get right)
Pr33x_ think of the vocals as a form of percussion. Make the beat play back and forth with them. And don’t forget to check your low mids, percussion/drums and vocals get messy there. Also pan some percussion, adds stereo width, and helps leave room for the vocals to stay front and center without losing dynamics.
Producer tip! It's best to place your perks while playing with you midi controller. Groove with the rhythm while bouncing with the beat, and you will find the perfect placements. Good video!
Despite producing for 15+ years I've always had an issue when it's come to the hi hats. This video helped me quite a bit and not so much with how to lay out the hi hats but just how easily it is to do them when I switch the tool between 1/6 beat to 1/3 beat etc. I really appreciate you and subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the tutorial brother! #MISTA808
Something cool you can do with your hihats is to add a delay to them, and then turn it down almost all the way. It gets a really nice effect whenever there's a roll
No one: Literally no one: Chu: Your Fl studio will crash.... Your computer will explode... And your hard drive will fall into the toilet.... All this negativity needs a new drum kit
Very informative vid. I love how you keep things simple and show ways that the individual can still add originality and their own flare. I've learned a bit watching your vids. Thanks!
Bro I have been watching your vids since I've started and you explain everything so much more simply than any other channel. All your vids have helped me so much and you deserve more recognition :)

Late comment. But holy hell! You are the best at tutorials! After seeing this video I’m finally making drum loops after being at this for almost a month! You are awesome!
Good video 🙏! I think many things can create a good drum pattern, such as panning, the choice of the drum samples, leveling... etc. I also wanted to say that your centerfold kit is really fire 🔥!
10:40 an amazing example of an extremely simple 808 pattern that rocks as fuck is migo’s motorsport’s beat by MurdaBeats hits twice in a measure, doesn’t change notes. and it is astonishing

Video idea: how to mix vocals or how to make a beat around the vocals.
I do that all the time build a beat around vocals 😎
Pr33x_ this !!!!
I Will rather see how to make a beat with just 808 Like pil c - pentflaus
