Because the wiring 'loom' had a plug for the FPV camera and not a USB plug. I originally set this up to use with the Xiaomi Yi about a year earlier, hence the 'revisited' in the title. As I mentioned, I only stuck the HD camera on for this flight to get some footage for UA-cam, normally there was no HD camera on.
I felt like I was being chased by a T.I E. Fighter on those roads!😁 Fixed wing FPV, with good narration, can't beat it. Even with all your video/sound imperfections, very very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing.
Great proximity flying and at first I didn't like the runcam in view but when you stabilized the video the runcam shaking really gave it a first person feel like riding in the wing.
So i was forced to come up with a motor mounr option with mine as it did not come with one i used four flight controller vibration dampeners the rubber m3 ones and it had the positive effect of quieting it down substantially as prop and motor vibrations are reduced into the foam.

Amazing flying field, I envy you a bit. I can only fly above narrow short field between 2 hills. but there are power lines so I end up flying only on a slope, that makes for very interesting landings. I should explore a bit to find some alternative flat fields...
A quick tip for you. Go on eBay or to a second hand shop and pick up a really inexpensive metal detector. I keep one with me whenever I fly. I have knocked my RunCam 2 off my quad several times in knee high grass and would never have been able to find it again without the metal detector.
I've only just got mine airborne and it tracks nicely. Have the Vtx on the wing. REVO F4 FC is working well to smooth the flight. 2008/2550kv running a 5050 cyclone prop.
Are you still using the fly-sky i6 or i6x i own two of them and i really like them for the price. I have upgraded with 3 POS switches on both and i fly quads only for now. My point is. Range seems to be an issue, at 200 Mw i worry about Tx range before coming close to video range and have lost comm. at less then 200 feet. It was a high reflection area but still it was a tree a chain link fence and a brick building. I ask because you have done range vids and you seem to do just fine reception wise. Any hints tips mods or tricks. P.S. I am using that new fly-sky X6b.
The only thing I can think of is that I live in the middle of nowhere. I have noticed that the signal can drop pretty quickly if you get even a tiny bit of dirt (eg. hillside) between the radio and receiver, and I have crashed at less than 100m away due to that a couple of times. On this occasion I think I have a pretty clear line between me and the plane most of the time, the rx antenna mounting should be pretty good too.
Sorry, to cut in, but since both of you are on i6x with x6b - I'd have a question. I'm using the same tx/rx and configured my failsafe with low trim 120% so x6b outputs 950 signal when failsafing. (after setting failsafe i reset trimm to 100%). Works flawlessly. Now I have second i6x/x6b combo for a friend, and I can't seem to set it! I read somewhere that there are two x6b versions of the market, one of them working fine, and second with failsafe working only on PWM. Is that right? Have you heard about it?
I am SRY i do not have any experience with that. I set my fail safe in betaflight and GO LOL. I did hear something about problems with that receiver but i have not had any problems so i have not researched it
Make sure you do the long press cancel (to confirm) on both the screen where you set the individual channel, and also when you return from the screen that shows all channels (titled 'Failsafe') to the previous menu. If you don't do a long press confirm on that main failsafe screen you lose everything you just set (seems like a bug to me, for something this important).
i've seen a research video about flying wings, cant find it now, that explained wing wobble as part of vortex all over the wing, winglets alone were not effective, extra front-to-back edges about 2/3s out would help a lot. made sense but i don't see widespread use of that knowlegde on flying wings yet.
It's funny I never experienced extra lift in ground effect. I've always felt like the ground was drawing me in when I get too low. Then once I get to about 15-20ft up I feel weightless and the need for less throttle to stay aloft. I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong lol
I notice that image stabilization was making parts of the flight look much smoother than they obviously were :-)
Why did you not use the Runcam 2 for the FPV feed ?
Love your work. Subbed.

Sweet. Watched a couple of your vids before, but watching sweet footage like THAT made me SUB. Keep em coming. Great flying!!!
You might like this one too: ua-cam.com/video/49nk0IHqbMo/v-deo.html
Great narration, mod info and beautiful area to fly... Very nice sharp video too.
I just ordered one of these. After seeing your vid I cant wait to get it. We fly at Balcairn - are you near? Come fly with us.
Tyje stabilisation worked a treat
flies great mate!!! thumbs. Whats your cg on her???
Right where the bulge of the payload area fades back into flat, on the bottom. Hope that makes sense...
Thanks mate, makes sense, just getting one ready for my 9 year old son
Great ride commentary too Thanks
Nose weight! Always works on my paper aeroplanes. Good engineering mate.

Wow, really high quality camera. It's so good, giving me little of motion sickness
Maybe a good model for a runcam split?
Great job

where do u live omg? there is beautiful a place
It's in Waikato, New Zealand
Great vid Thanks for the ride :-)
Hi there, what battery is that (mah) ? What mass is it? Thanks
3S 2200mAh, 200g
iforce2d thank you very much mate
Will you make a tutorial about return to home and GPS hold in quadcopter.
Yes
What FC are you using in this wing? I havent build mine one yet.
There is that gyro-stabilizer thing in there that came with the plane, but it doesn't make much difference, I think I have it off most of the time.

define "can't seem to" :)

I see the HK GoDiscover uses wing fences. I'm building another Teksumo now, and thinking I might try some on that too.
Check my channel for some GoDiscover footage. We've crashed it so many times !
What settings did you use for the Deshaker?
All defaults except for the ones marked in red, in pass 2

iforce2d Thanks!
Can you to check please? Where is GCenter on your wing?
What fpv goggles do you use.
Fatshark Dominator SE (the orange ones)
You do a lot of ground effect flying I notice. That extra lift means less battery drain maybe.

Is it worth getting the pnp version? or kit?
Depends how much gear you have already I guess. Most people have said the ESC in the PNP version is crap, other parts are ok.
Good video.
Rub-a-dub-dub doing my video on a tub. Yeah, I know I'm not very clever, but at least I'm watching. :|
Thx, for another vid! :)
I have the exact same problems, never really flew it much because of it. Maybe I'll give these fixes a try.
Nice video! Thanks!
Great !
