Was yesterday night at a houseparty. There was a guy and changed the music to Arpanet. God damn. THe whole Party was on an another level. Was pretty intense. Wireless Internet was my favorite
Gerald is always10 years ahead of everyone else. This trck is basically a synth-wave revival that Anoraak, Mitch Murder, Kavinsky, College took on 3 years later. By that time GD will make history once again with “Biometry” and wont look back. Its influence will give birth to DJ Stingray sound while the scene will be recycling 90s Drexciya game.
@@bojcio Almost immediately, this track made me think of Ryuichi Sakamoto and B2 Unit's "Riot in Lagos", from 1980. That is in no way intended as a criticism.
I love this track so much, is a masterpiece but I don’t se the super advanced 10 years ahead anyone thing here. It’s basically a “Steve Reich-ish” pattern with some 80s disco synth patterns on top. Which, don’t get me wrong, is beautiful and I love it, but is not that impressive in terms of innovation. I think the real innovators in music are the instrument makers, they give musicians new pallets of sounds to play with.
A lot of this "black futurism" music was heavily inspired by the "white futurism" music of Kraftwerk. Listen to "Numbers," "Home Computer," and "Trans Europe Express" for three obvious ones. Which is to say, the future and its music belongs to all.
I wonder why they never included this in period pieces , like imagine a movie taking place in this time period and someone talking to president Dweight and saying x"Mr president , I give you, the arpanet " and then this music would start playing as we see images of various computers bleeping and biping , biping..thats what computers used to do in the old in days, they would bip. beeping didn't start until the mid 80's , shortly followed by booping. we should be thankful we have a world with bleep bip boop computers

I don't know much about the contmporary electro scene, but this has heavy Kraftwerk vibes.

As a white boy - this "black futurism" music is my absolute favorite. Detroit does not get the credit it deserves when it comes to electronic music.
