Is Michael's D at 2:12 legal in this league? Seems like he is clearly crossing into the offensive space during a play on the disk. Also really dangerous even if legal.
Both players are taking essentially straight paths to the disc; if anything the Japanese receiver bends his run more than MN does. Do you think the offensive player inherently has a right to the unoccupied space in front of them?
17.I.1: "Dangerous Play... jumping right in front of a sprinting player in a manner where contact is unavoidable." Interpretation: You are not allowed to layout through the path of a quickly moving player. If the Japanese player hadn't been really quick on his feet the injury could have been bad. A dangerous play call is definitely justified here under the usaultimate rules. Edit: Similarly 13.2.3.2 in the AUDL rules. Essentially the defender in this position has to either make the D while pulling up, or make the D and run through without risking collision.
@@iopredman Contact was avoided, ergo, contact was not unavoidable--albeit only because of the athletic play by the Japanese player to jump over the defender. The receiver had to turn left to go for the disc, so both players were vying for the same spot.
Yeeeeesh, what a blowout
not including dillon's line toe in the corner is criminal. best play on the open side of WUC.
Did you see the layout in the opening game??
The whole highlight video is kinda cut short.
I get not including all points, but no replays of scores feels a bit incomplete.
Seems like the gap has only gotten wider. GG japan.
USA still on top!
That look easy in front of a Japanese team usa rocks

1:38 i wonder if rowan would have agreed it was down if the score had been closer
You seriously trying to ruin a fantastic spirit moment?
Pointless comment - he didn't "agree" it was down, the call was entirely his.
Yeah... by like 2 points
@@jb17415 no, just curious. i think rowan is great
