Pretty good video today. I like it when Kripp pokes fun at some incredible luck he just got rather than pretend it didn't happen. For every time he complains about RNG, he should acknowledge whenever it works in his favor as well.
The Warlock is quite effective during this brawl. Shadow Bolt is great for eliminating Flamewakers, and Soulfire is awesome since you'll most likely discard an unstable portal, which you can just redraw. Warlock also can keep up with card draw, which is great if you go past early game. I'd say he's on par with mage this week.
yeah, i found that Warlock is probably the best counter for mage in this tavern brawl for the constructed aspect because of it's removal and aoe, the rest is all fair game with RNG
I've found priest to be more reliable. 2 shadow pain, 2 shadow death, 2 circle of healing and 1 embrace the shadow. Shadow pain clear out the early game mage shenanigans, shadow death reks huge minions and the embrace + circle is an easy, and extremely cheap board clear. If i feel that I'm loosing control, then I let the opponent develop his board, save 1-3 minions, clear the board for 2 mana, then flood it. Sure, I can get somewhat low on health, but I can heal.Unless I'm running against a mirror deck that also runs the combo, or the opponent is very lucky with his draws, it's basically gg. I'm reliably winning about 70-80% of my games with this. And if I don't need board clears, then I can use the healing to keep my bigger minions alive.
+Warfoki It's quite an effective class, and the reliable removal + healing is awesome. the only issue is that draw management. Still, Priest is definitely in the top 3 for the brawl. I still think Warlock is better, I have 7-0 with him so far. Thank RNGesus.
DEATH he's not wrong. If half the people are playing flame walker stuff and half the people are playing embrace shadows + circle heal it kind of takes away from the variety
Its the randomness of these tavern brawls and the stat changes and costs reductions that remind us all of a better time. A time when Hunters Mark was 0 mana and Leeroy Jenkins was a four drop.
20:31 Yes you should have won the joust, but my question is: why is the card tagged grey color, meaning it is neutral? Because it should be black (rogue card). That's probably why the cost wasn't reduced, maybe the mechanics of Renounce Darkness work so that the cards turn to rogue cards when you draw them and the cost reduction happens, and in the deck they are somehow neutral. It's probably fixed now, who knows.
Warrior is pretty great. Initially I ran 2x Southsea Deckhand, 2x Fiery War Axe, 1x Bloodsail Cultist, and 2x Dread Corsair. Then, after going 13-1 (losing to another warrior), I dropped the Bloodsail Cultist and Dread Corsairs for Executes and a Death's Bite.
Double innervate summoning portal went well. Double dust devil, flame tongue was over 50%. Inner fire + divine spirit did well too. The portals were a red herring, you should be winning with your opening hand.
Made a quite good Priest deck with a Questing Adventurer, Power Word: Shield, Velen's Chosen, Divine Spirit X2, Inner Fire and Northshire Cleric. Won first 7 games in Tavern Brawl, most of them easily with 30/30+ Questing. Works better if you go second because coin + shield means Questing becomes 4/6 on turn 3, and if enemy doesn't have direct removal they get wrecked. Even if they do just use Divine Spirit on high health portal minions. Also save your Divine Spirit after you cast a few portals and play low cost minions while trading with questing and healing it. just make sure and use Shield and Velen's before Divine Spirit and then Inner Fire if you drew it means you can just 1-2 hit enemy.
I tried a Rogue deck and it worked pretty well, including against those pesky mages. Backstab takes care of most small minions to grant early board control, and Shadow Strike kills those pesky Flamewakers before they can really do anything. (I suppose Shadow Bolt in a Warlock deck would do that well too)
Yogg is damn amazing this brawl. He won me one game when I had 5 health, opponent was a tempo mage that had an ashbringer from Tirion, yogg clears board leaves himself up and plays misdirection and effigy, misdirects the attack to yogg, out pops Deathwing, win game.
P2W Rogue: 2x Preparation, 2x Shadow Step, 2x Conceal, and 1 Edwin Vancleef. With Coin: Turn 2, 12+/12+ Vancleef OR Turn 3, 12+/12+ Vancleef with Stealth. Best I got with the deck is a 20/20 Vancleef with Stealth against a Priest.
A little trick i found out. if you make a warlock deck with renounce the darkness, and you land on mage, all your unstable portals will only cost 1 crystal!!! Renounce x2, Darkbomb x2, Spreading Madness x2, and a Hellfire
39:00 is a misplay. after headcrack, the opponent is on 24. If a bomb hits gahzrilla, its lethal. He should have traded his minions to provide better odds for the bombs. 4 less minions on board drastically improves the chance. 66% instead of 55%
You haven't considered that it could also kill gahzrilla. If I calculated correctly, the chance of lethal only goes from 37% to 40%. An improvement, but not huge.
You are right, the math is more complicated then it seemed at first glance. It could kill gahzrilla, and it could also kill an other minion, thus improving the chance for a second hit on gahzrilla. My main mistake was that I calculated the chance of the bombs not hitting gahzrilla instead of hitting it and of course I forgot about the fact that it had only 2 health. Your calculation is probably more accurate.
i feel his pain. i stoped playing this brawl after i encountered the 4th flamewaker mage in a row that seriously pulled 5 legendary back to back from the portal
At the end, Kripp should've killed as many minions as possible. With 7 minions on the board, the chance of Gahz'rilla being hit by the bomber exactly once is about 37%. If he had killed the holy champion with grove tender and traded the siege engine into the tiny knight of evil, it would only be 4 minions on the board and the chance of lethal would rise to about 40% ^^
I found it best to go with A mage build consisting of: 2 Sorcerer's apprentice, 2 Arcane intellect draw cards, 1 Vaporize, 1 Demented frostcaller, and a flamestrike. With the demented frostcaller, i could freeze the whole board when i needed to. And if i couldn't freeze em all, i most of the time froze the important stuff. Flamewaker is powerfull and all, but Demented Frostcaller is way more fun. AND it kills rope animation time.
Someone in a comment section of the last portal brawl said that the best way to deal with empty hands in portal brawls was to have at least a few other cards to play that can supplement. This is sort of that idea realized but uh. I don't think anybody really filled their deck with card draw so they can draw more portals.
I had fun with this tb. I made a druid with 2 innervates, 2 earthseers, 2 deathlords, and one earthinator. I had a pretty good win ratio and it was fun.
I had a bit of luck playing warrior with fiery win axe and Upgrade! Win axe kills the worms, upgraded win axe kills the wakers, and the rest is just tempo happiness from the axe.
Paladin: Equalityx2, Wild Pyromancer, Consecration, Aldor Peacekeeper, Truesilver Champion & Sword of Justice. Board clear, de-buff and buffs, all in one
I just played warrior. My death's bite was laughing at all the flamewakers, and my fiery win axe at the wyrms. And taskmaster if flamewaker was played while i had the axe. Brawl and bouncing blade were situational but very good in a couple of games where I needed insane late game. I wont reveal the other two but i had a 80% win rate overall (12 games, 10 won).
I kinda like that wisp-tech you put in there :P I just played vs a druid who went T1 Astral Communion and of coarse had Dr Boom as his 1st portal. Couldn't beat a 12/12 Edwin though ^_^
I tought of an otk combo that required a low amount of mane. If you go second and mana addict sticks to turn 3, rockbiter, rockbiter, coin, windfury is 30 damage.
Druid: 2 innervates astral communion.... 2 nourish... fandral..... in your opening hand u want 2 innervates and astral if u are first... or 1innervate with coin and astral... try not to discard fandral or nourish... turn one 10 mana... and u can play anything u want while the opponent tries to ramp up
Misplayed the madder bomber. You should have used the grove tender and siege engine to clear since you had lethal with headcrack + 1 bomb on gazrilla both with and without the grove tender and siege engine going face.
yesterday I pulled a gold legendary and I was really hype until I saw who it was... it was leeroy jenkins. I'm never going to use this card so could someone help me out and tell me if I should disenchant him and make a priest deck or should I wait until a patch and see if I get lucky. thanks! BTW what do u think the chances are of him getting patched?
sorcerer's apprentice x2 mad scientist x2 counter spell x2 polymorph use the mad scientist to pull a counter spell and gain tempo then play sorcerers to play all your portals and the polymorph is if something goes wrong. I only needed it to get the pack so not sure how it does it the long run but it worked for me first try.
On the last clip, you should have killed off your own minions with the opponent's to make it more likely to hit Gaz, but it would also increase the chance of killing it so I guess there is merit to both plays.
Personally i went mage with mana worm, two 1 drop spells (usually arcane missiles), two sorcerers apprentices, mirror image and polymorph If you go second you can get out a 3/3 with two 0/2s followed by a 3/2 and a buff to your 3/3 and then you can get out the second apprentice and have free portals as long as your enemy has no clearance ( •ᴗ•)bbb
if boogiemonster said "whenever this minion kills a minion, get +2/+2" (doesn't have to be attacking) and had a better stats, or less cost, would it be played?
As you can probably guess, Druid runs the show. Being able to *guarantee* innervates in your starting hand just wins the game. My personal favorite is innervating out Saraad.
Cancer shaman opening does well too, as I'm sure you can guess. I was being innovative and did a priest with deathlord, inner fire, divine spirit and power word shield. Getting out deathlords counters the aggro quite well, and if they don't attack into it and you coined it out on turn two you get a 16/16 relatively easily, yet even if they kill your minion these spells work well on any other big-ish health minion and no one runs hard removal, so it's good.
Shoutout to the guy I played that conceded right away, you the real mvp

+CoreRagerino Kripperino :D
Tavern brawl idea:
Your deck is sorted in alphabetical order
Genius. Someone call blizzard
Fun idea but languages would be a problem.
True. I just thought it's arbitrary enough to be funny
A lot of the player base will not be able to handle the complexity.
26 letter is 8 more letters than there are deck slots, that's far too confusing for me.
4:43
you late nigga
He was watching Kripp before posting here
Lifesaver
Thanks bro, you literally saved my life!
thanks!!! you are so helpful....
Pretty good video today. I like it when Kripp pokes fun at some incredible luck he just got rather than pretend it didn't happen. For every time he complains about RNG, he should acknowledge whenever it works in his favor as well.
"Where are all the druids?"
They left to play arena while the mages were busy.
16:00 "For Hellscream!" *attacks Hellscream*
0:04 - [Talkerino]
4:42 - just Hearthstone things
5:46 - the anti-mage
9:26 - Paladin was tough
13:33 - after many losses...
17:45 - an ambitious opponent
21:53 - demons rule
24:42 - denied
27:26 - serious accomplishments
31:18 - mages
32:30 - dreaming
Magma Rager, Faceless,2x Abusive, Charge, Emperor Thaurissan and cursed blade is pretty good for a 24 dmg durst...
you're late man.
I had ya until Cursed Blade. Better to use, ya know, inner rage... >.>
that kills magma rager -_-
There's a 3 mana 5/2 Ice Rager.... Yknow?
+Irisama Supaaea burn the heretic
Can't keep my mouse on Kripp's nose for even 3 seconds.
Man thats the real game.

4:42 i can't find skipperino in the comments =(
On the top
maybe he is on vacation?
He got a job
Warrior : "I will crush you!!"
Kripp: "ye sure"
Just loved that :D
I was expecting a lot of agro openers so I just went with embrace the shadows and circle. They just concede when I clear all their board.
DEATH he's not wrong. If half the people are playing flame walker stuff and half the people are playing embrace shadows + circle heal it kind of takes away from the variety
I think he knew he could, but wanted to try a bunch of different decks.
I played shaman (mainly for my daily quest) with 2 doomsayers, 2 lightening storms and storm crack (kills flamewakers). Stops all Aggro dead
Wow, that last play...he could have done the "lol I might get Gazrilla lethal" -play AND not die. 10/10, Casualarrian strikes again.
Its the randomness of these tavern brawls and the stat changes and costs reductions that remind us all of a better time. A time when Hunters Mark was 0 mana and Leeroy Jenkins was a four drop.
32:19
"If I have to waste two mana to ping, I kinda lost all of my tempo." *opponent concedes* "I mean I just won the game."
20:31 Yes you should have won the joust, but my question is: why is the card tagged grey color, meaning it is neutral? Because it should be black (rogue card). 5:30 Thank you Kripp, it means a lot ;-;
Edwin double prep double backstab.. Have placed a 16/16 turn 2 several time this week with coin. Turns out it was preeeeeeetty fun !
Reno Jackson seems pretty nice in this brawl
Turns out he is PREEEEEEETY GOOD
How, you've got like 23 unstable portals
+Void Angel wow. Just wow.
Low health, pulls out unstable portal, enemy has control, PLS SAVE ME. Reno Jackson.
thank u sir :D
Warrior is pretty great. Initially I ran 2x Southsea Deckhand, 2x Fiery War Axe, 1x Bloodsail Cultist, and 2x Dread Corsair. Then, after going 13-1 (losing to another warrior), I dropped the Bloodsail Cultist and Dread Corsairs for Executes and a Death's Bite.

what is that 13:06 animation. hemmet turns into hellscream in the anomalus animation!
I ran 1 x Lock and Load, 2 x On the Hunt, 2 x Arcane Shot and 2 x Hunter's Mark to some success. It was pretty fun.
0:54 This is untrue, at least in constructed. I drew 2 ogre magi opening hand. Dropped both, then re-drew 1 ogre magi.
I tried a Rogue deck and it worked pretty well, including against those pesky mages. Backstab takes care of most small minions to grant early board control, and Shadow Strike kills those pesky Flamewakers before they can really do anything. Varian's intro music is so cool apart from the fact it leaves you waiting for the last note lol
Choose seven and combine six of em, oh gee
A little trick i found out. if you make a warlock deck with renounce the darkness, and you land on mage, all your unstable portals will only cost 1 crystal!!! Renounce x2, Darkbomb x2, Spreading Madness x2, and a Hellfire
Has he already done a "How good is Kripp" video?
Innervate alarmobot into a big minion is awesome, they usually don't have anything to counter except frost bolt or eviscerate which is rare

Why does silencing a 5/10 Taunt tree make it into a 5/5, when silencing a 4/6 Taunt bear makes it a 4/6? Their abilities are worded the same.
But they aren't worded the same
Kyle Earle "Choose one; Charge, or +2 health and Taunt."
"Choose one: +5 attack, or +5 health and Taunt." Same.
I'm pretty sure the card says TURN into a 4/6 with taunt, while a 7 mana 5/5 has GAIN plus 5 health and taunt
But idk I'm too lazy to look it up

I had a bit of luck playing warrior with fiery win axe and Upgrade! Win axe kills the worms, upgraded win axe kills the wakers, and the rest is just tempo happiness from the axe.
Another fun brawl. Facing druid in 8 out of 11 games was amazing.
I REALLY APPRECIATE THAT YOU DO THE VIDEO SHORTER WHEN ARE BORING MOMENTS
Paladin: Equalityx2, Wild Pyromancer, Consecration, Aldor Peacekeeper, Truesilver Champion & Sword of Justice. Board clear, de-buff and buffs, all in one
I made a really good Evolve deck in that brawl. If you got the right hand, two 8 drops on turn 4.
5:28 -- 5:34 -- 5:39 -- 19:18 -- 21:54 to 24:43 (long one)
14:40: "I will crush you!" "Stalagg crush you!"
Flamewaker is not the offender imho, Sorcerer's Apprentice is.
I played with Edvin wisp backstap and Shadowstep that with the coin was awesome :D
I dont have preparation :(
i played with edwin , prep , sap and backstab
I kinda like that wisp-tech you put in there :P I just played vs a druid who went T1 Astral Communion and of coarse had Dr Boom as his 1st portal. Couldn't beat a 12/12 Edwin though ^_^
If you commanding shout, then play Deathwing, do your minions still stay on the board with 1 hp?
no, they'll die
Because it doesn't do damage to them it just destroys them like assassinate
27:35 Whenever I see one of kripps videos at 12 o ' clock.
Kripp pls stop advertising G2A
They're bad...
Yep
Drinking milk is a lot worse than supporting online thievery and money laundering.
+D35troy3r199 Lol I just bought something on their website. Wheres the problem?
+Drawsler Search the facts on UA-cam. You shall be surprised.
wat
I like 2 shadow step 2 backstab 2 preparation and Edwin :) got a 20:20 on turn 3 (only for it to be hexed )
this was nice hunter, lorevalkrer, camelx2, stamina endofturnx2 , doomsayer, when spell then more hunter cards (nne)
hey kripp,I wanna ask you a question(if you see this) , is anomalus any good?
i just found him and I really don't know hoe to use him :/
I tought of an otk combo that required a low amount of mane. If you go second and mana addict sticks to turn 3, rockbiter, rockbiter, coin, windfury is 30 damage.
What's the mod called that Kripp uses to see his remaining deck?
hearthstone deck tracker
If you read comments first, at 27:10 skip about 20 sec!
Trust me, it's too salty!
Maann I never really lookd at the Rogue Hero power. I thought they were stuck in some gold..but now that I think about it, that makes zero sense..
lol hehe the whole warlock/rogue/pali hybrid match hehe funny stuff bro kripp trips me out X]
Questing adventure worked pretty well for me! :)
39:57 skip the kripp
1. Alarm-o-Bot x1 +
2. Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound x1 +
3-4. Gang Up x2 +
5-6. Preparation x2 +
7. Anub'arak x1
sorcerer's apprentice x2
mad scientist x2
counter spell x2
polymorph
use the mad scientist to pull a counter spell and gain tempo then play sorcerers to play all your portals and the polymorph is if something goes wrong. I only needed it to get the pack so not sure how it does it the long run but it worked for me first try.
I used the Anyfin combo, it's pretty great!
Shout out to my man James who's going to read this comment.
I wish more TB's would be like the adventures where rarely used cards shine.
31:10 you say that kripp but i have been using my golden boogeymoster since WotOG came out
What's your favorite deck for this brawl kripp?
Would Astral Communion Druid be good in this Brawl?
I tried it... it was OK, since you can play everything, but you lose if you get shitty portal minions (that cost
Astral Communion and Yogg works wonders though :L
at 14:01 I thought the minion said "I fart". Lol.
On the last clip, you should have killed off your own minions with the opponent's to make it more likely to hit Gaz, but it would also increase the chance of killing it so I guess there is merit to both plays.
14:50 I WILL CRUSH YOU
14:53 STALLAG CRUSH YOU
Idea for a brawl: Make a deck, and when the game starts, you take control of your opponents deck, and he of yours. Codename : Trawl.
What happened to the deck list on the second match
14:49 why not go face there? instead of killing the 2/2
"I will crush you!"
"Stalagg... crush... you."
First time I've ever heard or seen that 10/10.
What was the warrior deck?
No joke, actually the first time I've seen the boogeymonster buff.
i enjoy running the troggs in this brawl
had alot of oponents just concede when faced with a turn 1 burly rockjaw trogg
Personally i went mage with mana worm, two 1 drop spells (usually arcane missiles), two sorcerers apprentices, mirror image and polymorph
If you go second you can get out a 3/3 with two 0/2s followed by a 3/2 and a buff to your 3/3 and then you can get out the second apprentice and have free portals as long as your enemy has no clearance ( •ᴗ•)bbb
My dream is to join the ranks of the silver hand and become a silver hand murloc. Murrrgggralllll!
Another fun brawl... "Oh hey look another mage, let me guess what cards he mulliganed"
if boogiemonster said "whenever this minion kills a minion, get +2/+2" (doesn't have to be attacking) and had a better stats, or less cost, would it be played?
Summoning stone x1, 2 innervate, 2 wild growth, Yog, and the 5 cost draw 3. Fuck yeah
my picks, 2 mana wyrm, 2 apprentice, 2 flamewakers and antonidas cause why not.
grabbed my pack, then continued playing arena. :)
As you can probably guess, Druid runs the show. Being able to *guarantee* innervates in your starting hand just wins the game. My personal favorite is innervating out Saraad.
I think mage is equal or a close second, mana wrym, sorcerers apprentice and flamewaker every single game
2 x innervate coin emperor destroys your opponent
Cancer shaman opening does well too, as I'm sure you can guess. I was being innovative and did a priest with deathlord, inner fire, divine spirit and power word shield. Getting out deathlords counters the aggro quite well, and if they don't attack into it and you coined it out on turn two you get a 16/16 relatively easily, yet even if they kill your minion these spells work well on any other big-ish health minion and no one runs hard removal, so it's good.
I played nzoths 1st mate and double upgrade which worked out rather well
Spectacular!
Priest
X2 inner fire
X2 north shire cleric
