Just an observation if Haiti actually wants to win Miss Universe keep sending beautiful educated women, that formula with Miss Pelissier you got it right. Also Haiti finally got the right kind of cultural costume that’s worth a lot of points that’s one of the reasons she got so far beauty, brains, and elegance. Where she went wrong was not speaking French at all during the televised competition. Once Miss France saw she was up against Colombia ? and Haiti all of a sudden she stopped speaking English and switched back to French. These contestants from non English speaking countries need to stop trying so hard to prove that they speak English and represent their culture and countries more by speaking their native languages. Otherwise you don’t need a Miss Haiti born in Haiti she can be first generation from Canada France or US Miss Haiti speaks like 3 or more languages we should have heard her speak a little of each on the main televised show, that would have differentiated her greatly from all the other beautiful women finalists. It’s like gorgeous Miss Brazil who could barely understand the questions in English much less answer properly had a great question on race in Brazil, a great opportunity to talk about the plight of those in the favelas etc...of Brazil, but she could only crush that answer in her native language Portuguese cause her English was not fluent enough to converse on stage with the pressure of the cameras on. If anyone knows people on the Haitian prep team for Miss Universe they need to consider these points.
