I was (only) Public Affairs, but there was a lot of downward "yes sir" and "yes ma'am" around the office for simplicity. Started off as a lot of officers coming through and we didn't necessarily know the rank of someone who started talking to us from behind. Eventually it was just something we did even when we knew who was talking. The officers didn't seem to mind and our master sergeant started it, so it was just one of those things.
Marine corps recruiter senority are based off of time and service. I had a staff sargent in my marine corps recruiting station that was in charge despite there being a gunny recruiter.
I've really got to stop watching stuff like this at work. The maniacal laughter is scaring my co-workers. And to my fellow Marines who are watching this and feeling the urge to knife hand an idiot: Calm down, killers. It's humor.
Happy Thanksgiving too man. Hope you find a good recruiter. Something you could always do as well, is a friend of mine was getting denied into the Navy so he just kept asking to talk to the next boss up, and the next boss up and finally had lunch with the Commanding Officer of the entire region, who subsequently put him in the Navy, just because of his dedication. Good luck brother.
They were protesters with the political think tank, the Harding Group. They were against the BS wars and taking satirical approach at real recruiting tactics.
Would have been a LOT more funnier to Marines had they followed our regulations. I would list them, but i see others already have started a list. If you're not a Marine I don't expect you to understand the importance of these things. Spider Fi brothers.
Funny as a joke. But the day the Marines issue a recruiting video like this is the day John Basilone, Dan Daly, "Chesty" Puller, John Ripley, Evans Carlson, John Bolt and A. D. Olmos (to just name a few) all come back and set things straight.
Hey guys Im one of the actors in this short .I served my country proudly like most of you did 25 years ago..I can't remember every regulations ,phrase ,Salute and placement of medals. Some of you are too caught up on the details..I can recall my comrades in arms always having a great sense of humor.Hell you had to have some sort of sense of humor being around a bunch of men for weeks at a time or else you would go insane.I realize a lot of you are still active duty.,you aren't allowing yourselves to have fun.Its just satire ,so take the sticks outta your asses and enjoy the video in the spirit it was meant.AGAIN this comment isn't directed at everyone just those who don't wanna be silly and have a good time.I respect the uniform flag country and I wouldn't take knee at a football game.Ok I went too far.You guys can let me have it on the football comment.Make America great again
These two servicemen are super funny. I bet they have to put up with so much crap when they go to work. Making this wild video must have been a great way to ease the stress.
It's a parody children for those of you who have never been in a real Marine Corps recruitment office,Notice how the one "Marine" has more Chevrons then we'll say the main guy yet he calls him sir.. "Sirs" are officers ones a Staff Sergeant the other is a Sergeant.
@Scorpioner123 They also don't have sideburns and have to maintain a weekly haircut. They also don't wear covers indoors, or wear shooting badges on their Charlie uniforms past boot camp. :)
@TheRockof90s Everyone is protected by SEALs and SF. But they are also protected by pilots and EOD techs. The pilots provide a lot of close air support (not as much as air force but still a bit) and the EOD techs do their thing with explosives.
I might have missed any comment that says so but, @Frenchunter, are you or have you served in the military. I mean absolute respect when asking this. If you don't wish to tell me, then I totally respect that.
I try doing about five more pull-ups to bring it up to 9 or 10 pull-ups, I got to about 8. I've been trying to run 3 miles in at least 20 minutes. Boot Camp also gets you in shape but it is more intense and more stressful than at home. I always try to simulate for my self what Boot Camp would be like, I've been getting up at 04:00 hours or 03:30 hours, and imagining a DI screaming in my face, but that is just dreaming, and it does not count if it's not the real deal.
@wilshotu197 I was ready to die for the Marines. I don't ever want another person to go through what I did. I never got over it even after nearly 10 years. I'll always have a grudge with them.
I love the reference to HALO, but those Marines seem to have forgotten that the Hero of HALO is a Master Chief....takes a Sailor to save all those Marines. LOL
Know the story. These are actually two Army recruiters that are spoofing the marines. That's why the "staff sergeant" refers to the "sergeant" as sir. Also explains why they say Hoo-Ah instead of Ooh-rah
Baby when I tell you this was the reason I took my ass to parris island on 21 September, 2009 I mean that!!! SN: I’m still looking for that SGT in 2022!!!
As long as you do not have tattoos that are above your collar line or below your wrist, the Marine Corps will accept the felony. Talk to your local recruiter, and if he says he cannot help you, find another. One eventually will get you in if you really want it. I know, I was active duty Marines for 5 years and have had tons of friends with felonies in with me. Dedication is what they look for, they see that, they will make it work. OORAH!
@IrishCoffee24 that has nothing to do with why he was calling him "Sir." it's aa billet and the sergeant probably had a higher billet than the staff sergeant. i was say the exact same thing while i was going through boot camp. my drill hat was a sergeant and my j-hat, and kill-hat were both staff sergeants and they both call him sir.
@indoorin Protected and helped are different. and SEALs and SF Dont protect anyone, in fact, if a small SEAL team needs help its an infantry unit they call not the other way around, no Marines are gonna say "get the SEALs here we need help" SEALs are utilized for special missions not ground combat. Also, Marines have MARSOC which in 10 years could be better than SEALs *started under a decade ago. Marine Recon as well is Special operations
They probably served in the Marine Corps sometime in their life because if not, then they're some real good fucking actors. They talk like one and most definitely talk like one. I would know because i served 4 years and I'm currently out. If they were currently marines and this video leaked, I'm sure they would be in a heap of trouble.
and that's why I joined
Shut up you fuckin pog
The story of my life
@@GabrielHomeService did you really look up his MOS just to say that

I love how the Staff Sergeant called the Sergeant sir lol.

Makes sense. But that still sounds like some POG ass shit. And I was a fucking POG (1391 Bulk fueler).
Marine corps recruiter senority are based off of time and service. I had a staff sargent in my marine corps recruiting station that was in charge despite there being a gunny recruiter.
its obviously army guys making fun of marine recruiters. still, its pretty funny though lol
Am i the only one who noticed they were saying the army's "Hooah." And not the Marine "Orraahh."?
I noticed too
YEA what's up with that?
Yeah what the fuck
This was actually a video made by Army Soldiers making fun of Marines.
+Andrew Serrano Really?
I asked my recruiter about this video and he said they all watched this when they finished recruiter training. This is official recruiting material.
At least that time 😂
"sweet jesus her koochie tasted like pistachios"
And damn me if i didn't like me some pistachios
The most realistic USMC recruiting video I have ever seen!
I just love how the higher ranking NCO calls the lower ranking NCO "sir". LOL!
Right?
AvgDude SNCO
AvgDude I still lose it when he calls him sir
I remember watching this 11 years ago and to this day I will randomly say, "MennnLowww" when people are around.
Dude I do the exact same thing
Bro. I do the same thing. That and the "don't mother fucking ask, don't mothering fucking tell"
I've really got to stop watching stuff like this at work. The maniacal laughter is scaring my co-workers.
And to my fellow Marines who are watching this and feeling the urge to knife hand an idiot: Calm down, killers. It's humor.

My recruiter posted this in a group chat on messenger😂

Recruiters are really laid back....
its "Sergeant" wow kid... just wow
Tijuana Jackson
It is spelled Sergeant and Staff Sergeant
I wish my recruiters were like them :[
I would have signed up in a heartbeat!
Lmao stfu no you wouldn't have
What he said about danger is actually true. It's more dangerous to be anyone living in Washington DC than to be a US Marine in Afghanistan.
I can't stop laughing can you make it stop please omg
I was told these guys where actually Army recruiters sharing the same building. They both ended up getting a court martial so I was told.
They were protesters with the political think tank, the Harding Group. They were against the BS wars and taking satirical approach at real recruiting tactics.

AGearHead4Life i do believe they made those mistakes on purpose, the E-6 being fucked up calling the E-5 sir made me laugh my ass off
It seems that it was part of the joke.
Funny as a joke.

They would laugh too.
bruh what? They would think this is funny
I remember when this came out. I really wish I knew the back story on the production and actors. It’s amazing.

Marines be gangster until the navy says they won’t carpool with them anymore
This is literally what the marines Recruiters are like.
@TheRockof90s Everyone is protected by SEALs and SF. But they are also protected by pilots and EOD techs. The pilots provide a lot of close air support (not as much as air force but still a bit) and the EOD techs do their thing with explosives.
I am mom of a Marine and I thought this was hilarious!
Wassup with the covers on inside???
The "Hooah" practically kills this for me.
If they were on guard duty. You ever see a recruiter sitting at his desk with his hat on?
@DragoenFyre Army is 1 syllable. what they said was a modified version of the marine version.
This is what the fuck I signed up for damnit!!
You wouldn't have a copy of the video "proud future?" Done in approx 1987 or 88?

That's your opinion. We all fight for one country, so it doesn't matter.
marines say oorahh. not howah
William Kerestes that’s the point it’s a parody
Outstanding
yeaa.. the whole "hooah / Oorah" part makes a big difference.... also covers are not to be worn indoors, and web belt is too long.
Got my attention. Where do I sign?
