Excited for you to enjoy His Dark Materials, those books are one of my all time favourite since I read them as a child. I think it is time for me to re-read them 😀
Such a great list! I'm hoping to start the His Dark Materials series this winter and continue the Winternight trilogy! I absolutely loved the Bear and the Nightingale and I cannot wait to see how the story unfolds :)
I can only speak for Northern Lights so far but I really did love it with my whole heart. And the Winternight trilogy has served me very well so far, so I'd imagine that this third and final one will be more of the same ☺️
Love His Dark Materials. You’re in for a treat. The whole trilogy is brilliant. I think my last book of the year will be Assassin’s Apprentice. I don’t remember any of it because I read it almost 20 years ago so it’ll be like reading it for the first time - so excited!
I'm delighted to hear it. I'm not sure why I've put off continuing it for so long. Better late than never! Ahhh that's so exciting. I really adored that first trilogy when I read it. I can't wait to get back into more of Robin Hobb's books ☺️
Fern Brady's memoir and Snow are on my TBR- I am very interested in how you get along with them! December is my rereading month. I am very excited to get back to my favourite books😊.
I'm not so far into Snow and I'm already unsure if I want to continue with it. I'm not sure if the timing is wrong or if it just isn't for me. Hopefully I have more luck with Fern Brady! I remember you mentioning that before. Such a lovely way to finish out your year ☺️
Hi Aisling, I'm nervous to have you read The Winter of the Witch sinceThe Winternight Trilogy made me a fairytale/historical fantasy reader. I only read Christmas books in December. Today I'm starting my first poetry collection and the next book in my current contemporary romance series.
I read Snow last winter during a holiday in Bulgaria (neighbouring country to Turkey) and it was the perfect time and place to read it. However, although it was definitely an interesting read, I didn't love it that much. I am curious to see what your experience is with it :) haven't read Orbital but the theme sounds really similar to one of my favorite books of the year, To Be Taught if Fortunate by Becky Chambers. Also curious to hear your opinion! Cheers xx
I'm a little of the way into Snow and honestly, I think I might stop reading it. I'm not sure if it's the timing or if it's just not the right book for me, but I'm finding it to be quite dense and my attention keeps waning when I try to read it. I'm not sure whether to persevere or give up on it. I finished Orbital and really enjoyed it. It reads a bit like a love letter to our universe. There's no real plot as such, but it reads beautifully. I haven't read To Be Taught if Fortunate but I've really enjoyed the Becky Chambers books I've read so far, so I'll certainly look that one up ☺️
Sounds like a great list! December feels like the perfect time to slow down and enjoy a few books as much as possible.

I absolutely adored Northern Lights so I can see why it's loved so much. I look forward to dipping into the next one soon ☺️

No pressure. Yes! 😁
Thanks for watching 💛

I really enjoyed the first two books, Amy, so I'm sure Katherine Arden won't disappoint! I hope you're enjoying your December so far ☺️
really interested in your thoughts on Orbital, let's just say I haven't met anyone who loved this book so far lol
I've finished it and would say that although it's not a new favourite, I did really enjoy it overall ☺️
