I'v always liked the 5 band equalizers. They were easy to set up and sounded great. You have the first 3 band which were the 63Hz, 240Hz and 1KHz in the middle and the last 2 bands which are the 4KHZ and 16KHz you have up 75% of the way.
normally tape 2 in some receivers is used for equalizers, in this model I'm not sure I think you can use any of the two options (tape1 or tape2) and I no longer have this amplifier to test those options, but I think what you have to do is connect in the following way: from Amp. Tape 2 (rec out) >to EQ (input) from EQ (output) > to Tape 2 (playback). then the selector of the eq has to be in "source" mode and in the Amp. REC Selector must be in "Tape2" position; then just use the input selector normally to listen to turntables or whatever you have connected to your amp. In other words, use tape1 or tape 2 to pass the signal through the equalizer, let me know if that option worked for you
Jaime Estevez Amplifier Technics SU-8099 and EQ SH-8015. In the future, I will be buying a new vintage Hi-Fi system and since those old Technics amps do not have integrated EQ (my old Marantz PM700 DOES HAVE integrated EQ) I wanna learn how to connect an EQ to this amp. Thanks!
Ok, from the Technics SU-8099 use pre-in and pre-out, probably have two metal jumpers that need to be removed, then connect pre-in to line out from the EQ, and pre-out to line in of the same EQ , let me know if you have more questions

you can just conect any component in input of the eq and then connect output to any input
Hello, can you tell me how you connected the equalizer to the amplifier? Thanks!
Give me the model numbers of your equipment

Jaime Estevez Thank you so much. And if the amp was a SU-V5 like yours, how do I connect the EQ?
I may use Tape 2 selected only on Rec selector
