Sorry for your lost. Last night I wrote my girlfriend the entire lyrics and send it to her house by mail. I'll eventually pick up a guitar and learn to sing this song for her. But so sorry for you love. May god bless you, sir. Stay strong as she wants you to be.
Jonathan Escobedo Thanks Jonathan..that means a lot to me...you picked a good song to sing to your woman..I`m sure she`ll like it very much..can you play a guitar at all...would be nice to her you play and sing...best regards to you..
@@stevelowe2647 yes, I believe it's from the late 50s or early 60s. It's on a cd compiltation of mine where the main songs are from the late 50s to the late 60s. What a decade of music it was! This is just one of the hits of the golden years.
Rick Nelson, one of the best that ever walked on this planet. I grew up the same time as Rick and when he died, it was like losing someone very close. I remember crying when I heard the news that he died in a plane crash on New Years Eve n 1985. Rick, your music will live on forever. R.I.P. Rick
Grew up watching Ricky on "The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet," and listening to his many hit songs. Listened to his last L.A. interview with KRTH 101's "Mr. Rock 'n' Roll, and saw his concert that evening w/ Fats Domino. (Fats called Ricky out for a duo on "I'm Walkin'"). In his book, "Chronicles, Vol. 1, Bob Dylan tells how he "had been a big fan of Ricky's and still liked him. He sang his songs calm and steady, like he was in the middle of a storm, men hurling past him." We miss you, Rick. RIP.
In my old age, I still.have the guitar string he broke in Atlantic City, NJ, and gave to me. I still treasure it. God called him home way too soon. 😪💔🙏
I read about that early concert. The Steel Pier was so packed with fans that Ricky couldn't walk from the boardwalk to the stage and had to be flown there on a helicopter, which he found to be a little scary. How ironic.
@@boxeolocopunch762 I read some time ago that the plane was brought from another famous hollywood person who had done some repairs to it. The persons responsible for the repairs use either faulty parts or parts that was not for that make/model plane and so the fire happened because of that. When the plane was cooled down Ricky and all the band members were found at the door leading to the cockpit of the plane. Meaning the pilots closed the cockpit door and lock them in the cabin of the plane, where they perish. They the two pilots escaped by climbing down through the windows of the cockpit to safely. Horrible way to let them die. Open the door and give them a chance to escape the fire as well. It was a humane thing to do
Oldies are Goldie’s beautiful words always a treat to hear it reminds me of my nephew’s wedding someone sang it on behalf of the bride..R.I.P. Rick Nelson.🌷🌷🌷💕
This is my all time favorite Ricky song. I had it on a 45 and the album and I used to play it over and over again. I think I cried a million tears when he died in that awful plane crash. That was the worst New Years Eve ever. Every New Years Eve sinse then I think of him. Thank you so much for your wonderful post.
brenda kernan I still have my folks 45of this song! Love it it's a great memory of them I cry because of how much their love for each other..... Hearing it again I think back RIP RICKY and my folks together forever 😥😇
I have not seen Ricky smile as much as he did in this video/concert. He was a serious teen idol. Definitely my teen idol. Rest in Peace Ricky Nelson. I still miss him.
On this date in 1959 {Feb. 23rd} "Never Be Anyone Else But You" entered Billboard's Top 100 chart; evenually it peaked at #6 and spent 16 weeks in the Top 100... Ranked 42nd on Billboard's Year-End Hot 100 Singles of 1959 chart... This record was a rare two-sided Top 10 hit; B/side was "It's Late", peaked at #9... Was the 1st of 4 straight records by Ricky to make the Top 10; staring with this one, then "It's Late" {#9}, "Just A Little Too Much" {#9}, and finally "Sweeter Than You" {#9}...
Thank You Rick for all the songs and Happiness over the years. Ill never forget that horrible night. Wished you and Helen and the guys had never left Orlando. RAVE ON......
Rick sounds excellent on this wonderful tune he recorded 25 years previously. His Dad made sure he had the incredible Jordanaires as his back up , on his recording thru the early 60's.
I saw Rick back in 1958 which I believe was his first tour at the City Auditorium in Houston with my brother Rudy and Rick. The memories of those great days and Ricky Nelson was great and the girls went nuts. We had front row left of the stage.
Thank you for sharing all the video's. Bobby Neal (guitarist) is my brother and watching the video's help keep him and the others alive. This time of the year brings a lot of sadness. The past two days I have watched the video's over and over. Thank You, so very much!
I am so sorry for the loss of your brother, I can imagine this time of year is especially hard. I'm so very happy to share the videos that I have :) I do have more to post, that I hope to get to soon.
Very sorry for your loss. I lost my brother too at a young age. He was a guitarist too and he loved rock and roll. I know the pain. It never goes away.
Played this song for my wife of 31 years last year. I instantly thought of her when I heard it. She passed away suddenly Jan 3 2019 this year. A few weeks back. Makes me sad and cry now. Ill always think of her when I hear it. I think of her all day every day. Im all alone in the world without her. I love you sweetheart.
Man life is soo hard. We get hit with horrible losses. The memories stay with us till we die. I wish you well my friend and I hope some day you reunite with your loved one.
It's the Jordanarries live, too. The one on the left who appears to be in sunglasses next to the lead guitars looks exactly like an elderly gentleman I used to sing barbershop harmony with as a late teenager. He was around 68-70. Music like this can unite the generations.
I have always regreated not making to the Tangeer when he was there in 1978 or 79'; my date was not able to make it . He has been my idol since day one.(and on a good day I can almost sound like him).
Shame about the feedback squeal (twice!) from the foldback monitors. That should have been sorted out in the rehearsal, and if it happened despite that, the sound mixer should have turned down the level to the foldback a bit. Rick gives someone a black look the first time. But a bloody good performance and a bloody good voice.
How ironic that Rick sang a Buddy Holly song as his last song of the concert before that fatal crash. And both He & Buddy died the same way. How disheartning. Yes, both Buddy, & Ricky. "The Day Music Died". RIP, to both of you!!!
If only we could have this good music back today.
OMG! He sang this song in 1983 just as in the 50s/60s. His voice is so pure & clear. ❤

isn't that the truth . I'm 35 😅
Driving to Las Vrgaa as a yoing kid, i remember this song and my parents singing it.
What a soothing voice. Anytime you’re stressed out, this song will bring you peace.

Sons gave their own music. When they sing dad’s old tunes they are just a little higher in voice. They are genuine and nice like their Dad.
The first record my mom ever bought. Flip side was It's Late. Rick had a lot of good songs. He was the king of great ballad songs.
