Bryce Canyon, Utah (May 2024)

Bryce Canyon National Park, located in southern Utah, is renowned for its unique geological formations and stunning natural beauty. The park is most famous for its hoodoos-tall, thin spires of rock that protrude from the bottom of arid basins. These formations are created through a process of frost-wedging and chemical weathering, which gradually erode the soft limestone, dolomite, and siltstone that make up the region.
Established as a national park in 1928, Bryce Canyon spans over 145 km² and is named after Ebenezer Bryce, a homesteader who settled in the area in the 1870s. The park features a series of natural amphitheaters or bowls, the largest of which is Bryce Amphitheater, stretching 19 kilometers and up to 240 meters deep.
