First of all, if you face this problem, don't open the break first.
Just spray WD40 into both joint of break rod, it will remove all debries.
Second step, mix petrol and engine oil in 1:1 ratio and brush the joints well.
Leave it for few hours and your break will be as fine as new one. Enjoy.

Last time i did mine i stripped the back plate right down cleaned all the parts re greased the pivots and oiled the cable! that is the only way to keep your brake working as it should. Remember that could be all there is between you and your funeral!!!
