20 years of doing this and someone finally creates a consummate needle guide, thanks so much. Just bizarre how little support we have on UA-cam for critical machine ops on Barudan and Tajima, like it's some kind of guarded secret. But Melco is really stepping up at least and is the most current by far, so think my next machines will be Melco.
Does needle size determine thread size? If so what needle matches thread size. Not much was addressed about thread in video. Loved you through explanations.
Where can I get this manual? I am basically after the needle chart with pictures of the needle along with the description of each needle and thank you for the video by the way I guess I'm glad that there is a storm out there or you may not have made this video LOL
I keep getting thread breaks on baseball caps. What needle and thread should I be using? Also for regular t shirts cotton or polyester what needle should I use to prevent thread breaks?
Here is a great document on embroidering on caps: melco.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005259426-Cap-Embroidery-Overview On t-shirts and polyester the 75/11's that the machine comes with are good. if you are getting thread breaks on these you may want to look at the stabilizer you are using and actifeed settings.
I tend to run smaller lettering and finner detail work at 1000 s.p.m., but my coworker runs EVERYTHING at 1100 s.p.m. and it comes out fine. Chalk up my slightly slower speed to old habits? - NM
The needle magnet is the greatest embroidery invention ever! Can't change a needle without it.

The first number in the needle size (75/11) is the European size. The second number is the US size...
Nate do you know where they sell the longer shaft needle to do thicker items like a belt?

What is the best needle for patches made on thick cotton twill?
I would run with a larger sharp or RG needle. I would start with a 75/11 and see if I need to move up a size from there.
Superior Sewing Machines on West 25th Street NYC has them
11 is just a US number. Although I have no clue how they get that number lol
