Bladesmithing Warikomi Petty

- I was lucky enough to have Isaac from Cavoo Creative in the shop to capture some footage for my web page.
I have been working on the warikomi style forge weld in an attempt to strip away some of the distractions around the workshop that come with owning a lot of equipment. Forge welding in this fashion does not require tack welding, grinding pieces clean or flat, rubbing alcohol and a buch of other stuff. What it does require is concentration, heat management, carefully controlled blows and a little flux.
I still scrap half the blades and it was a challenge to accept that I might need to spend precious spare time and walk away with nothing. But that is the only road to improvement.
The night before Isaac came out my favourite splitting chisel broke so in the video you can see me usi g one I cobbled together that morning. It was some spring steel from @LucidKnives
I love the simplicity of these knives when finished, however you can see some of my more advanced work at the end too. Thanks for looking.

I would definitely want to see a full video of this. This style is brilliant
Thankyou, all credit for the videography to Isaac at Cavoo Creative. We only had part of a Sunday so we couldn't fit in a whole knife build unfortunatley. Maybe some day.
How do I become this guys apprentice?
I need to know something worth learning first haha
