    3. Sot Nicholas Ghesquiere (English): It was about childhood, playful like almost like clothes you borrow from a childhood wardrobe and the woman wants to wear something like that. I tried to mix like tweeds, felted wool, pastels like ? elements and something very naive with like just point of color.

    5. Q Reporter: What did the models think when they first saw those? (boots)
SOT Nicolas Ghesquiere: First..no I can't say we had complaints I mean they fell in love with the boots but when they were starting to put it on that was another story. It was more difficult. But we had a nice way of pulling them. We stretch them all week preparing for the show

BOOTS PUT BALENCIAGA STAMP ON NEW YORK FASHION WEEK
Parisian designer Nicolas Ghesquiere showed off the Balenciaga Fall 2003 collection in a raw space in downtown Chelsea, just steps from the company's first New York boutique.
Balenciaga fans were in for a double treat late Thursday afternoon (13FEB03). They not only got to see the new Fall 2003 collection, but raise a toast to the new flagship store, which opens later this month.
The collection features leather boots that reached new heights on a woman's leg. The were stretched for a week before models attempted to put them on for the catwalk.
Nicolas experimented with futuristic sporty clothes as well as the beyond-thigh-high boots and whimsical, childlike tops and dresses.
Critics wondered if some designs were a little too inventive - like pieced together dresses bulging at the side, or laced up woollen trousers in black and blue, with orange stitching.
But flared black coats, cropped sheepskin aviator jackets and finely tailored blazers were labelled 'dashing.'
Jackets were short and so were the skirts. The show was another testament to the mini isn't going away any time soon - no doubt applauded by celebrity Balenciaga fans like Chloe Sevigny and Christie Turlington.

It's so funny how much fashion changed. The crowd is basically non existent outside the boutique. There would be so many people there just because he was there. Everyone in black, champagne and finger food. Relaxed but serious. Those were the old days of fashion. Passion, focus, and rigor

Unfortunately all that passion and rigor is gone. It's all about the influencers!!!! Forget it if you can make or create things. It's all lip service!!!
