    Thoughts on the Polyend Tracker Plus?

      This company upgrades their stuff quicker than people learn it. There’s no way to build a connection with some thing When it upgrades faster than you ferment. Hard no, Just like everything else they make

    The original PT had a stupid feature where it would only show 100 files at a time in a directory... I hope they have fixed that for this version.

    I had the original tracker, enjoyed using it but sold it to finance the Play, hated the Play and never got another tracker. The addition of the synths makes this an easy buy for me, already put in my order. Tracker + synths = fun. With the option to select rows, and randomize the notes within a scale is great and makes it even better with synths over the repitched samples which never sounded good in the tracker. Never really dug it for samples since i have so many sampler options (mpc live, sp 404 mk2 and a digitakt). Been doing less midi sync a whole dawless track and more 1 box, jam and record/arrange later and this fits right in. Wish it had a batter but im sure you can power it with an external usb battery like the OG.

    I'm sticking with the OG, it's dope since their recent Firmware 1.8. Mine is stable, no bugs and the only thing I would really utilise from the Plus Version is Stereo Samples, but it ain't going to stop me using the OG to create some rather fine Drumfunk releases.

      I'm with you. this doesn't make me lose any love for my OG polyend tracker. but this plus stuff does have me reeling.... I mean... audio over usb, man... & stem exportation!! the OG doesn't do that either, does it? (definitely not over usb. maybe to the sd card, though. not sure.) the synth engines could be exciting. I gotta check play+ vids to hear them more in depth.

    stereo not mono samples now
    increase track count
    increase price.

    Hopefully there is a bigger, more tactile version using the same engine in the works. I know they just released a sp404 style KP, but would be keen on something more geared towards hands on control of a 4 part effects chain.

    But is it worth to buy the plus whether then buying the tracker. Since the price range is alot different, polyend plus 799 EUR but polyend tracker is 399 EUR ? Is it worth it?

    • @DECIMA1
      @DECIMA1  Місяць тому +1

      You can likely find an original track used for pretty cheap, especially now since the plus is out. Is it worth it? I mean if you have other gear that can do some similar stuff maybe not, but if you find a cheap used tracker (original) it might be worth it.

    • @fallprecauxionsmusic
      @fallprecauxionsmusic 29 днів тому +1

      I think the tracker+ is bringing a WHOLE LOT of extra added value. I actually do think it's worth the difference in price. BUT... if you don't think you'd really use all the internal synth engines that often... or if stereo samples/sampling isn't really important to you... or audio & stem export of usb... or upgraded jogwheel, screen & busines buttons... dang!! that's a lot!!

    What happened to the “send in your prior Polyend device for an upgrade” model like they did with the Play+?
    Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be buying anything Polyend again, unless they do another $360 flash sale like they did with the OG Tracker. They release these new versions of previous gear way too fast.

    • @fallprecauxionsmusic
      @fallprecauxionsmusic 29 днів тому +1

      @@epolpierI agree. I bought the original tracker shortly after it dropped. that was three years ago. there was barely a year between the play & play+. while I get the frustration... three years isn't a long time. but it's not the same as the weirdness that went down with the two play releases. all that said, I'd be down to send mine in for this upgrade. but I highly doubt that'll ever be on offer.

    • @anthonyb.2983

      @@epolpier No, it really isn’t. What was released in this short time… Tracker, Play, Tracker Mini, Play+, Tracker+. 5 samplers in 3 years. When Polyend had Benn Jordan pitch the Play+, they made it seem like this upgrade model would apply to more than just the Play.
      This makes the whole Play fallout even worse. If Polyend doesn’t stick to their guns on this upgrade model, they are pretty much done, especially now that they are trying to play catch-up to the Digitakt 2 and Dirtywave M8.

    Not putting a battery in the Tracker Plus is a sign of the times, totally out of touch with customers. Yes there’s the mini, but this is hardly maxi is it? Could so easily have been a portable powerhouse but nooo, the mini needs to have that one reason to buy it over the plus.

    • @connorcarbon
      @connorcarbon Місяць тому

      Yeah they're obviously deliberately stunting this because they're trying to sell people on buying both the Mini and this, on their website they are touting the "compatability between Plus and Mini" feature. they know what they're doing, and it's really disappointing. they'd rather tease people into buying two products that have almost the same features than just put all the features in one product. The form factor of the OG and plus are already portable enough (by far) to warrant an internal battery. The MPC Live II is mammoth compared to this but has one. So why doesn't this have one? Cus they want their customers to buy two things. same thing native instruments does with Komplete Kontrol / Maschine

      There was massive chip shortage 2 year ago, it only cleared recently. Without COVID we would have those gears for a long time.
