This was especially funny as I watched it while folding baby laundry and my 8-month-old is "helping" (by waving a diaper cover around and examining it _really_ closely). It's honestly impossible for me to imagine my child doing anything with her future when right now her primary interests are sticking anything other than food in her mouth - and I will miss this terribly when she's older. It's such a joy to watch them learn to be people that the idea of having kids as an "investment" just makes me cringe.
You sound like a lovely parent. Too many folks legitimately do have kids to fulfill their own goals, not thinking about the fact that they're bringing a fresh new autonomous being into the world.
This video kind of hit really close to home, I briefly courted a man who was incredibly outspoken about fatherhood being one of his goals (note: he never had positive things to say about his own father figures and I honestly worry that he hasn't paused to consider the actual "bringing a child into the world" part of it, just his own desires to brood a woman) in life. In contrast, I realized a long time ago that I would not be a good parent and have been outspokenly child-free for about a decade (turned 30 a few months ago). Did this probably play a role in why we didn't work out? Almost certainly. Does he remind me of "traditional man"? In a lot of ways, yes, NGL. Anyway all this to say, folks like you who seem to genuinely enjoy the act of raising a child really warm my heart. I feel like a lot of folks have kids out of pressure or obligation, and it leads to a lot of neglected kids. Thank you for loving yours steadfastly.
@@arbyswitch5580 You know, I didn't want kids until I turned 30, but once I did, suddenly I *really* wanted one. I know people are often like, even if you have doubts, just go for it because you'll love the kid regardless, but honestly, I do think waiting for that desire to hit me - even though I could have afforded kids 5 or even 10 years earlier - was the right decision and allowed me to really enjoy the experience. I always felt only people who want kids should have kids, which I used at one time to justify why I did not have kids of my own, but now that I'm on the other side, I'm even more firm in that position. And I totally hear that bit about the "traditional" dude who didn't really think through what parenting entails. One man I know (a running partner of mine, actually - we ran together throughout my pregnancy and it was sweet to see he actually has protective instincts that I didn't know were there) has told me many times that he'd love to have a partner and "start a family," yet the couple of times he's met my baby (one of those times he was assumed to be her father by passersby and addressed as such and didn't notice it, which I thought was very funny), he hasn't interacted with her at all. Barely looked at her even when she was looking at him in such a way that tells me she was waiting for him to interact with her. He's a sweet, kind man, but dang does he have some work before he's father material, imo. And I dated a guy through high school and college who really wanted kids. We both knew my earning potential would always be higher than his, and so we had an agreement that should we get married and have kids, he would be the primary parent and teach music lessons on the side (which he does now as well but is mostly in freelance music production), while I would be the primary earner. He told me a couple years ago that he had "definitely changed his mind" about having kids, and so I do wonder how much of that was an economic/lifestyle-driven decision. I assume most of it, which makes me sad because he really wanted kids and would have been a great dad. He was the first guy to ever seriously make me consciously think, "Yeah, I'd have kids with this one." I don't think I ever really wanted them in a vacuum without the thought of whether I would want them or not with the specific potential father being the deciding factor, and yet I know both men and women who wanted kids so badly that it was their primary focus in choosing a partner. That never made sense to me personally but I've seen that work out well too.

When i was 20 or something i had a boyfriend who did essentially this. Not with the drinking but we discussed him moving closer to me (we were ldr) and he expressed that he expected me to move in with him after that. I said that I wasn't ready for that yet and that I wanted to see how our relationship would progress once we lived closer together. He then got angry at me because (get ready) we shouldn't waste time since he wanted to have children in the next five years. Not only had he never bothered to discuss this before, he knew I was going for a masters degree (that would take me until 24 at least). He knew a woman that got pregnant while at uni and regularly made fun of her (?) Also I had talked about the fact that I would want to finish my studies and get a few years of experience in my field before starting a family and he had given me the impression that he understood and agreed but apparently not lmao. I don't even know if he had like an evil masterplan to get me to drop out or if he wanted me to be the one he could make fun of for being stupid enough to have babies before finishing my degree. Or maybe he just didn't think about anything he said? He seemed to be really shocked when I said that he would need a different girlfriend for that.
You made the right choice he sounded like he would have been far too immature to be a father, let alone a good, reliable life partner. I'm sorry you experienced that at all, but you made the right choice. Hope you're doing well👌
"Why am I not an astrophysicist? Because I'm not" brings the same energy as "How would you feel if you didn't eat lunch yesterday?" "But I did eat lunch yesterday."
People who have kids as an "investment" so they'll be looked after when they're unable to do so themselves should shut the hell up when their kids inevitably go no-contact
I can't wait for the discussion where he tries to wrangle the logic of his wife being the main breadwinner (so they're not raising a kid on a Best Buy Wage) but she's also the sole 24 hour child-carer as well. He must have an astrophysicists mind if he can figure that one out
The timing he picked to bring up the subject is actually spot on. She's enjoying a drink and celebrating the new year, he wants to ruin it. Everyone in the comments is talking about the content of the conversation but honestly that's secondary. She's happy, he can't stand it.
Your ability to channel these charactes is truly impressive, the whole thing felt like both something scarily realistic and a villian monologuing about his evil scheme at the same time. Excellent work.
The child with her broader than average shoulders and his work capabilities (as demonstrated at Best Buy) would be the best shelf stocker in history. What a legacy!
God I hate how these "traditional" types always talk about having a child to "carry on the lineage and legacy" as if their family is royalty. What legacy, you work at best buy, my dude. 😂
“Children were born in order to ensure that when adults are older that we would be taken care of.” This character will be spending his last days in one of the bad nursing homes, I guarantee it.
I’m sorry, but as soon as he said “I hope that’s not what I think it is” sniffed the glass and went “gin and tonic. How disappointing.” I almost yelled “oh f*ck off” at the screen. The ONLY reason a G&T should be disappointing, is if it’s not made how you like it 😂
Not just parenting, but parenting and being almost the sole breadwinner. As of today, minimum wage in California is $16.50. So if he's working full time (40hr a week, 50 weeks a year) that would make his income (pre-tax) $33,000. That won't even pay average rent in Los Angeles, let alone other expenses (utilities, transportation, health care, food, childcare, recreational expenses, savings, miscellaneous needs). An arrangement where one parent works and the other parent is the main caretaker can work, but in this case he doesn't seem to want (or isn't able to) work at a job that makes enough to support her and the hypothetical child if she goes to a part time job or leaves the workforce. (I'm using California numbers because I believe these skits are set in California, but in other areas it doesn't add up either. For example, in Michigan, making minimum wage full time, pre-tax earnings would be about $21k, but average rent in my county would be about $17,000 a year. Minimum wage is barely enough for one person to get by without assistance, let alone support a family.)
he always writes such good characters that i always like the video before it starts. because i know it's going to be good. and also because i know that the jerk is going to make me so mad that clicking the like button afterwards is going to be a challenge as i remind myself that it's just a character over and over :') keep it up.

Hope you're doing well👌
He thought you would fall for his manipulation. Clearly if you loved him enough to want him closer, it was time to move to the next step.
"Why am I not an astrophysicist? Because I'm not" brings the same energy as
"How would you feel if you didn't eat lunch yesterday?"
"But I did eat lunch yesterday."
It’s the way he’s so smug about manipulating her while he proceeds to do the very thing he just told her not to do.
People who have kids as an "investment" so they'll be looked after when they're unable to do so themselves should shut the hell up when their kids inevitably go no-contact
Woah, he used the word ‘indifferent’. He must be highly intelligent.
Well and truly this character infuriates me calling children an investment
I can't wait for the discussion where he tries to wrangle the logic of his wife being the main breadwinner (so they're not raising a kid on a Best Buy Wage) but she's also the sole 24 hour child-carer as well. He must have an astrophysicists mind if he can figure that one out
4:22 The way he pronounces "and" like he's a British philosopher is a small but nauseating touch 👏👏👏👏👏
Actually fucking stomach churning
Your content scares me. And I mean that as a compliment, your writing and acting are way too accurate.
New year, New boyfriend. We're not doing this.
The timing he picked to bring up the subject is actually spot on. She's enjoying a drink and celebrating the new year, he wants to ruin it.
Everyone in the comments is talking about the content of the conversation but honestly that's secondary. She's happy, he can't stand it.
Excellent catch.
Your ability to channel these charactes is truly impressive, the whole thing felt like both something scarily realistic and a villian monologuing about his evil scheme at the same time. Excellent work.
Oh god, I hope he doesn't tamper with her birth control.
That would bring this series from mildly infuriating to horror movie
We call that “motive”
When I heard "child" I thought, "NO! No, nononononononono! RUN!!!!" and then it got a WHOLE LOT WORSE!
The child with her broader than average shoulders and his work capabilities (as demonstrated at Best Buy) would be the best shelf stocker in history. What a legacy!
Has nobody told him alcohol consumption reduces male fertility?
This man will NOT ruin the 1/4 zip sweater for me. 😭😭😭😔😔😔
God I hate how these "traditional" types always talk about having a child to "carry on the lineage and legacy" as if their family is royalty. What legacy, you work at best buy, my dude. 😂
Cat just chilling in the back taking in the whole situation.
My entire being died a little halfway through. My drinking tripled
Referring to any part of a child as a "short term cost" is beyond delusional
He wants to be King Henry VIII SO BAD
‘My new year’s resolution [proceeds to dictate what yours should be]’ 😂
Hers should be to leave his ass.
Almost threw up with this one, amazing work!
If he's such a traditional man, why's he wearing such low-rise pants? Nothing old fashioned about that!
"That is if.... we get busy." GAG COUGH SCREECH
There’s no way this could be me actually in the POV because I’d remind him, brutally, that alcohol also has an effect on sperm.
Holy shit the facial expressions are on point (like always). Also, I'm fuming, thanks
“Children were born in order to ensure that when adults are older that we would be taken care of.”
This character will be spending his last days in one of the bad nursing homes, I guarantee it.
The amount of times I needed to close my eyes in pain at this one is insane
His girl dreams of him carrying the baby instead of her.
Who hurt this man so bad that he can play this role so well???
the cat in the background 0:14 omg
What got me through this video
Omg there is a cat
I’m 90% sure her drinking is what keeps them together 😭
The ominous aura of Chonkie in the bakground is highly intimidating
I’m sorry, but as soon as he said “I hope that’s not what I think it is” sniffed the glass and went “gin and tonic. How disappointing.” I almost yelled “oh f*ck off” at the screen. The ONLY reason a G&T should be disappointing, is if it’s not made how you like it 😂
“Short-term investments of a child”
Wait until he finds out about the cost of childcare and college tuition. 😂
YOU MAKE MY DAY! Always excited to see a new upload. You're one of the few UA-camrs I've ever wanted to become super successful. You deserve it. (:
1:40 that’s straight up a villain laugh. He’s not even subtle anymore, he’s just straight up a villain
Bro is nobody gonna talk about the cat? absolute STAR of the show
Big fax
She must not have had anything throwable nearby.
"Traditional man" won't even get married first
you're too good at this
It’s easy to want a child when you aren’t planning on changing your own lifestyle and expecting your partner to do all the actual parenting
This character is beyond slappable, he is full blown DELULU!!!!
he always writes such good characters that i always like the video before it starts. because i know it's going to be good. and also because i know that the jerk is going to make me so mad that clicking the like button afterwards is going to be a challenge as i remind myself that it's just a character over and over :') keep it up.
He is teasing us so hard can we please get the break up video or at least a video calling him out
this activated my fight or flight response. you have to be a very good actor to make the audience hate you, good job!
The cat lurking outside the door like "I do NOT want to get in the middle of this".
I don't think I can handle the implication anymore that this person's spouse is staying lol
3:57 a wild Britney appears, clearly watching this dude in disgust and plotting his demise 😂 Hope she can be included in more videos in the new year 😊
This guy is so good at portraying the most unlikeable characters ever.
That cat enhances the whole situation
Watching these gets my blood pressure up Iol
I love the absolute U N I T in the hallway.
"To carry on the Best Buy legacy"💀
Happy new year everyone! 🎉
I like how the cat popped up in the background at the beginning of the video but then stayed away because of the "ick" radiating from this character lol
I don't drink for medical reasons but I would grab a bottle of champagne and start chugging.
Um, for him to be a traditionalist, wouldn’t they have to be married?
You are right. From the title, it says they are "dating". They are not married. So I don't know why he is talking about having a kid and all, when surely this gal of his wouldn't marry him.
I was once on the receiving end pretty much this same speech. "I expect the mother of my children to be healthy". Dumped there and then, never looked back.
Omg the cat in the doorway has to be one of the chunkiest cats I've ever seen
The rage these videos give me cannot be expressed
I’m a young man, no kids or anything, but if my significant other called my future kids “an investment” I’m leaving instantly
It literally gets worse with every line... You're a genius
4:37 I really thought he was about to say "why are you laughing?"
I was waiting for her to ask for her drink back.😂
Why does she keep him around? So she can laugh at him?
How dare that vessel challenge him
She needs to dump him and find an actual traditional man or a modern 50/50 man. Why is she still with him if they're only dating?
She's insecure
These videos make me so mad I’m surprised I’m not the Hulk by now, but I continue to watch these masterpieces.
