How did you know to do the part to set HAOS to a static IP? I've been trying to get it running and I didn't see that step anywhere. I enabled it and things started working. I previously was running Adguard Home on a stand alone server and wanted to try migrating it into HAOS. Is there a guide out there I missed that had this step on there because it is the one thing I needed and was missing to get it up and running. Thanks!
This was 8 months ago, so I have slept since then. LOL I like to play around with technology, so I probably figured it out on my own. You're welcome! I'm glad it's working!

NOTE:
If your IP doesn't show up after changing to static IP, go to addons, adguard, and reset or restart. It'll populate after that.

Wondering if you can help me. When I go to the setup guide the only address I have is 127.0.0.1, which doesn't seem correct. I also need a primary and secondary addresses for both IPv4 and IPv6 for my router
This got stuck in the Held for review, so sorry about that.
You would use the Home Assistant IP for Adguard Home if that's what you're asking.

Just restart the add-on, it will fix that issue
Where do I find my AdGuard Home server addresses and do I enter them into my routers dns server entry page?
When you install AdGuard Home on Home Assistant, it will use the IP of Home Assistant. You can put the IP in your router's DNS or single-device DNS.
Hey, nice tutorial. I´ve already set it up myself, but i have a internet connection drop of ~600Mbit recently.. do you think that is correlated to the AdGuard Addon and did you check with your system as well? I´m doing speed tests every hour and this drop is huge..
Thank you. I do not have this issue.
I wrote a reply here so it's not too long in the comments. community.bigbeartechworld.com/t/youtube-comment-reply-to-kottenbruch-on-adguard-home/220
@@bigbeartechworld wow really impressive answer tbh! I tried out several speed Tests with AdGuard disabled and i found a thread, that i might be Proxmox related and not AdGuard... but thank you for answering in such detail!
You're welcome! Hope you got it fixed.
I wanna make sure that the static IP has to be setup in both Adguard and the router, correct?
setting up the static ip only at one place will be sufficient
Once you've configured a static IP address for Home Assistant, you can then include that IP address in your router or device's DNS settings.
You didn;t said clearly the most important part of setup about DNS
Could you explain what I didn't say?
about how to setup after the 3:20 minute
@@gbadishomeassistant748 how do you think I could have explained that better? I'm always trying to improve. 😃
Explain all steps you use like you explain to a dummy user, also you may put these steps in links at the description of yout video. The internet is not a movie , people need to find fast solution. Thanks from Athens Greece.
@@gbadishomeassistant748 There are various methods and systems for explaining how to add an IP address to the DNS resolver on different platforms such as Mac, Windows, Linux, routers, and more. Each of these platforms has its unique way of configuring DNS resolution. I didn't want to include instructions for every system in one video, as it would make the video excessively long. Additionally, Adguard Home provides instructions within its user interface for reference.

He didn't show the main part that actually matters ! WTF
Could you explain what main part you're talking about?
@@bigbeartechworld where you do the manual dns setting changes, like where to put the adguard addresses , the dhcp setup etc
All routers are different. You need to go to your router's admin panel. Put the LAN IP of the home assistant in the DNS section of your router, or you can add it to single devices. On Adguard, there are general instructions.
Sometimes unintelligible!
