The image that is burned in my mind was passing by a police station to go to work, during the height of the migrant dispersion in winter in Chicago and seeing hoards of migrants sleeping indoors but homeless black men sleeping outdoors. That’s when I knew I was done voting blue
Really enjoyed this one. From Canada here but decided in the last few weeks that if I was American, I would be a reluctant Trump supporter. It is bizarre to feel relief that Trump won. But this great discussion helped confirm. I am feeling a little alone in the wilderness here as most of my family and friends are shocked and upset at his win.
I had 2 days of relative calm, before my neighbor started up with how there was still time to put Trump in jail. Victor Davis Hanson opined that Harris isn't stupid, but she is, demonstrably, "intellectually lazy." I would have considered voting for her if she was honest, and wasn't the avatar for progressive, demented fascism. I am back to being reviled as a woman-hating patriarch, whom my neighbor cannot suffer to think differently from her.
I seem to now have officialy lost all my friends. My bff of 20 years told me off and what colonizers we are. My family fought in the Revolution and in the Civil War. But anyway, present day, I was really happy to vote for Trump. I'm excited about what's to come. Im so grateful the election was fair. I've never voted Republican and my #1 reason was because women are female. I hope Tulsi Gabbard will be our first femal President!! I love her and RFK! Lol sorry i have no friends to talk to so I'm rambling on comments here😂
I’ve lost my relationship and most of my friends as well over the past 4 years for simply trying to have conversations. I realized the “tolerant left” was anything but tolerant to those who dared question, or worse disagree, with their ideology. My life doesn’t remotely resemble what it used to be. I had an amazing life centered around an exciting vibrant music scene. My best friends now are women like Meghan and Mary Lou. They don’t even know me or how important they are in my life and how lost I’d feel without their voices and our weekly Wednesday girls night. I hope to meet all you brave women in person one day. Thank you 🙏
Same, I would love for Tulsi Gabbard to be our first woman President - she deserves it! P.S. You deserve REAL friends, not those who drop you over politics. Hope you find some kindred spirits!
You will make new friends and they will be the most fun and wonderful friends you’ve ever had. Look for Republican and conservative women’s groups in your area. Or start your own! Unlike to much of the left, we typically don’t all walk in lockstep and are very open to hear other views. We tend to like reasoned opinions and debate.
Yes Mary Lou, I’ve always worked alongside men at labor jobs. I am strong and fit. Basically all men are stronger than me. It’s embarrassing when people don’t know that. Have they never used their body? I know what Im capable of and I don’t live in fear, but I live in reality where pretty much any man is a threat if he wants to be. Get real people.
I think you‘re not the only one who decided to vote for the 1st time as an American abroad;) (I‘m one too, Swiss&American. Many usually dön‘t vote but suddenly when they feel much is at stake, they‘re voting. I‘m sure many registered Dems went with Trump. Not necessarily for him but against the denial, delusion, ignorance, arrogance of a party that soo totally lost touch with „the people“, with reality.
I voted for Jill Stein, because I wouldn't vote for anyone supporting genocide and I live in California, which was gonna be Democrat anyway. Though I didn't vote Trump, I am very relieved Harris didn't win! I thought we were in BIG trouble if she won.
Yeah, sort of same in NYS. Not getting on the Trump train. I think that is really unwise to publicly embrace that. asshole as MM is doing. Neither of these people were even near worthy to be president. It's a pathetic situation that many of us blame the democrats for their decades of betrayal to USA working class in their embrace of Wall Street. The Dems and the New Republicans now.
As always you guys are my favorite weekly podcast and it was so refreshing to hear you both talk about good news! Usually something awful happens with the trans stuff every week. Finally we have good news and a good chance of fighting back. Americans thank you Meghan for taking our side! Hopefully it'll be good enough for you to be able to live here if you want one day.
Im relieved with the outcome but still concerned. Tired of funding foreign wars. Thomas Massie is a stand out to me. He is america first and his voting record proves it
I'm so incredibly relieved. At the least, the crazed authoritarians have been (temporarily) stymied. I am not overly hopeful, but a little bit. #realignment

Fellow Canadian and I'm thrilled Trump won.

There’s a video game called Squirrel with a gun..that guns down rogue law enforcement..it’s hilarious and apt for this occasion. You Tube it 👌🏾

I'm shocked that Harris got more than four votes.
As an Australian I've never been prouder to be an American. God bless y'all. ❤

At this rate, we Australians might have to move to the U.S.

She sells them, just look in the description box, at the bottom where it says join team turf - that'll take you to the shop. The shirt IS awesome lol
