Heyyy so I'm greek and here's what I know about our staging:
The whole thing will be filmed at once and it will feature Marina at all times, exactly like in her song Mantissa and things will be happening in the background like dances and stuff and the whole thing might depict a story! And I think they're also planning on using the 5-square shape of the scene and like put Marina in the middle and the dancers all around her, but I'm not too sure about that last part!
I think I read someone that Fokas said that he had a once in a lifetime prop
I am Greek too, and I think all the rumors about one shot filming are rubbish. And Fokas may will ruin the whole thing, he is passionate with boxes anyway, he will have Satti coming coming out from a dice probably

I think Denmark will be an opener again this year - I feel like Austria is a bit too high energy to start off with, whereas Denmark is safe, inoffensive and decent quality.
I agree with Netherlands as a show closer.
And I do think they will put the automatic qualifiers further apart and probably have a consistent pattern for where they put them in both semis.
I do agree that Austria would probably be best energy-wise to open, BUT considering the music video, there's a non-zero chance it's gonna be not kid-friendly enough for that time of the night lol

I want them to put Estonia on the last slot because it is basically a 90% automatic qualifier slot and the Netherlands don't need that, they will qualifier from every slot

Love your vids Tom.. I think there is a definite top 10 this year, and from 11th to 30th is a really even bunch of quality songs. Performance, staging, vocals and X Factor will be more important than ever. To qualify this year, you'll have to earn it ❤❤

If the Nederlands keep the emotional ending, then the producers maybe won't want to end the show with a sad tone. My prediction will be either Norway or Estonia for the closing act.

Czechia in the Death Slot, no...! Yeah, I know, the live show seen so far was a car crash, but I like the song very much and hope she has improved ;)
Seeing how they work the automatic qualifiers will be very interesting. In my ideal world all 3 of those songs would perform first to get the show under way properly before the competing semi-finalists performed. It would also make it clear who isn't actually competing, they'd be more of a warm-up. But then again they probably wouldn't want the largest audiences just watching the first 15 minutes and then switching off!
My prediction for the running order, mainly concerned with creating an interesting set list with decent ebb and flow. I'm going with one major break between the two halves of the show, perhaps there'll be a shorter break halfway through each half. After noticing many similarities between Tom's and my predicted running orders for SF1, I'm amazed that there are far fewer similarities for SF2...
1. Switzerland: Nemo "The Code" # shouldn't be used up too soon in the show, but this song has "opener" written all over it ... I'd rather it swapped places with (my #1 fave) Estonia
2. Spain: Nebulossa "Zorra"
3. Austria: Kaleen "We Will Rave"
4. France: Slimane "Mon amour"
5. Albania: Besa "Titan"

17. Norway: Gåte "Ulveham" # practice stage setup and teardown in a hurry between two other songs, because running order of the final isn't set yet
18. Netherlands: Joost Klein "Europapa" # don't want this to close the show because of its sad ending, but I'll gladly have it lead into the show closer
19. Belgium: Mustii "Before the Party's Over" # a bit too mellow-angry as a show closer for my taste, but it would finish the show on a strong note nonetheless
According to the rules suggested in a few other comments (add one point per place difference between predicted and actual running order, the best possible result would be 0 points for an exactly predicted running order), I've got 56 points. Managed to guess two countries' places in the running order exactly.
For fun (and because part of this prediction is guessing a sensible sequence of songs), I've also deducted points for two or more songs that I've guessed in the correct order (e.g. two songs in sequence = deduct one point, three songs in sequence = deduct two points, etc.) - with this model, the best possible result would be -17 points if the running order were predicted exactly as was announced. I've got two sets of two songs in the right order, so deduct 1 + 1 = 2 points. Makes a result of 54 for me. Not as good as my SF1 prediction, but nothing to complain about.

I'm already sad for all the artists who will be performing before the first break, as there are so many performances in the semi now. I know there will be changes to the voting system, but I'm not sure if that will help because I think most people will still only vote after they've seen all the performances.
Yeah, that is what I don't get about these changes. I mean, they tried it before, it didn't increase the overall votes a lot back then. The people who are fans who made up their mind before the show will be voting either way, but can start earlier now. But everyone who doesn't know the songs will wait until the end. But wiht 3 additional songs in each semi the recency effect for the later songs will increase.
The voting at the start is only for the final not the semi finals. And 16-17 song semifinals used to be the norm, I don't see it as a big deal
@@sav0001It's new that the automatic qualifiers will also perform their whole songs in the semis (so there were never as many performances before the voting process) while it's not new that the running order effected the televoting every single year immensly.
Since introducing the semis every single year the second half of every show got more votes than the first half, and there was never (!) a televoting winner before the first break. Tom often talked about those issues. There is a reason why the running order draw is such a big deal for the artists and the odds every year.

Austria would be a good opening song, but if they go all out on the outfits, I guess Czechia is a good opener too (which went all out on outfits in the Czech final😂), especially if she showed improvement during preparties. I have no idea when the running order is going to be announced, but I guess the producers are going to wait strategically if they can.
I fear that Denmark, Malta and Armenia are going to get the short end of the stick in the running order, which isn't going to help their qualification chances, if they are sandwiched between heavy hitters Switzerland, Austria and Greece plus likely qualifier Albania. Then there is also Malta which I don't rule out as it is likely going to be the best dance act. And that is just the first half😅
In the second half it is even harder to imagine San Marino and Latvia qualifying if they are in the same half as Belgium, Netherlands, Norway and Estonia, regardless of running order, sadly
IMO Armenia is a much more likely qualifier than Albania...
"Halo" from Austria 2022 was actually 13th in the running order, not 1st. Did you get confused with Austria 2023 opening the final?
(idk if anyone informed you) But, as a Greek, I know that it’s almost sure that the innovative idea for the staging is that the whole performance will be shot with one camera. I mean that it doesn’t have to do with a prop (at least based on what we know so far)
I thought Switzerland opening would be awesome with the first line of the song saying. Welcome to the show. Would need Slimane to split up that female run after if Nemo did open. Austria makes more sense for me too but I wouldn't be surprised if Switzerland did open either
They also could separate spain and san marino being 2 spanish songs
Thematically, especially with the opening line, the Netherlands would make a great opener. Not for the whole thing, it's too extreme to be the first song, but maybe after the last break. I don't think it should close, the only other options to me are Georgia or Estonia, and I'd choose the latter... Welkom en Europa!
I'm gonna try constructing an entire running order, maybe I'll change my mind. But I'd love to take the messages into account and try telling a story. Probably not possible, but I'll see 😁
Netherlands drew second half so unfortunately they won't open the semifinal, or the final for that matter since Sweden has that spot.

I think San Marino and Spain will not be back-to-back, as they are both in Spanish! Furthermore, I trust that producers would give a better slot to Denmark this time, as it needs to shine after being given bad slots the previous years 😀

This year I porously avoid listening to ALL of the songs ( did a bad job tho - ve listened to most of them 😅) so I could be surprised
I am terrible at predicting running orders every year, so whatever i predict, i'm sure it will be the opposite. I think putting the AQs after ad breaks may be a good idea so hosts can clarify again that they are not taking part in the semi final and introduce them. I agree with the order of Estonia -> San Marino -> Norway. It's kinda what they did last year with putting Slovenia early in the 2nd half, then the more disappointing rock song and ended with the banger Australia. That's why I think Norway is a contender for closing but the Netherlands are probably late as well. Then we need a late ballad...so I think Norway, Netherlands and Israel might be among the last 3 acts. Latvia just isn't strong enough so I'm not expecting a good slot for them and belgium fits well in the early 2nd half.
Everything screams Albania deathslot once again but they're not always putting a ballad there so I also agree with Czechia as 2nd. Please. Albania deserves a good spot. Also Czechia is just a mess this year so I would be surprised if they get anything good. I still think Malta might open the show especially after the revamp. It's not weak and Austria isn't really the type of song I would expect to perform first. The rest is just whatever and heavilily depends on the first 3 and last 3 countries.
I’d swap Albania and Poland. I think they would want someone with more general estetic between Greece and Switzerland. Putting Poland in the middle might be too much alternative dressed folks in a row.
I still think Mustii will go penultimate as a ‘Before the party is over’ troll move from EBU. If not here, than in the final. I do really like your pick of Georgia there to finish on a high energy note.

I think Albania starts, keep in mind that it is a family event, putting Austria first is maybe 'too sexy' to start for kids hahaha. The Netherlands opening the second part, because the song starts with 'welcome.....' to end with that song is a bit odd 😜I would close with Belgium (last time fun 'before the party is over') 😄😄
My Semi-Final 2 Running Order Prediction. I will be using the Same scoring System I did for Semi-Final 1 except instead of starting with 18 Points I will be starting with 19 Points. Basically so the lowest it is theoretically possible to score is 0.

I agree the First half is hard so I put Slimane 🇫🇷 in the First Half and I am using the Ad Breaks To my Advantage here. I agree Austria 🇦🇹 makes sense to open and If they Qualify and Draw the first half they could be opening 2 years in a row. I decided to Put Albania 🇦🇱 goes 2nd because its different but Similar. I put Switzerland🇨🇭3rd to break up all the Girls. Then I decided to Put Greece 🇬🇷 4th because there the only country Not Performing in English Before the 1st Break. Then I put Malta 🇲🇹 in 5th just before the Break because I think they have no shot so Im putting them in a bad slot. So then I put an Ad Break after Malta 🇲🇹 to try and break up some of the Girls also we have 3 Breaks so we are kind of due for a Break. So then I Put Armenia 🇦🇲 and France 🇫🇷 using France 🇫🇷 to break up the Girls then I had Denmark 🇩🇰 and Czechia 🇨🇿 left in the First half and I decided to put Czechia 🇨🇿 before Denmark 🇩🇰 To spit up Denmark 🇩🇰 and France 🇫🇷 then once the First half was over I put in a victory Ad Break also I had 3 ad Breaks to put In so It had to go somewhere. Than in the 2nd half there are a lot more variety. So I opened the 2nd Half with Belgium 🇧🇪 and Norway 🇳🇴 to split Norway 🇳🇴 and San Marino 🇸🇲. In 12th I decided I hadnt used enough Auto-Qualifiers so I put In Spain 🇪🇸 Because Italy 🇮🇹 would be to similar to Israel 🇮🇱 who are going 13th. Then in 14th I put the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I didnt want to close with them because If they put In the Emotional Ending I didnt want to end with it but I also didnt want to put anything after that because people may be emotional and also Im Evil so I put an ad Break while everyones feeling emotional. The downside to that is it might hurt the Netherlands 🇳🇱 a little bit not putting them at the end But also in 15th we have San Marino 🇸🇲 so It would be really Evil to put San Marino 🇸🇲 Right after the Netherlands 🇳🇱. I may be Evil for putting and Ad break after the Netherlands 🇳🇱 but Im not evil enough to put San Marino 🇸🇲 Right after the Netherlands 🇳🇱. Then Italy 🇮🇹 in 16th because I dindt want to be too nice to them because they Are also Auto-Qualified. Georgia 🇬🇪 comes 17th leaving Latvia 🇱🇻 or Estonia 🇪🇪 meaning I had to make a Choice between Closing the Show in English or Closing the Show with an Uptempo song. Intitally I chose for the Priority to be to close the show in English but then I decided. Latvia 🇱🇻 would be a great close so I put them 18th and Estonia 🇪🇪 19th. If Lithuania was in this semi aswell I may have Put all the Baltic nations together and put Estonia then Latvia then Lithuania but that doesnt matter.

My biggest problem with your running order is San Marino going after *, as people are gonna be talking about * even competing, San Marino is gonna be hitting the stage and end up getting left behind. Whichever delegation gets the spot after *, if it's borderline, is not qualifying. I'd rather have an automatic qualifier performing after *
Yep that makes sense, have an AQ after them and then also a break. so put maybe Spain after

@@ESCTom I would avoid having an ad break after * for as long as possible, just keep feeding songs to people until their anger or shock fades away. An ad break too soon would see people just tuning out

San Marino and Spain who both have Spanish songs should definitely be apart.
I'm also bothered by Belgium/Estonia when you can actually almost alternate genders in the second half. 12-14 and 16-18 would be three female singers in a row twice, so one of the two mentioned should be moved into one of those sections.

it's actually insane that both first halves of both semis are gonna be hard to make a running order for.
I think the best thing the producers could do with Israel's running order is put it right before an AQ (Spain would be a good one) and then an ad break. There are gonna be strong reactions from people (especially those who are seeing songs for the first time and may not have followed all the Eurovision related controversy) and I fear that could impact a following song's score. (example: in 2018 Serbia was right after the UK when the stage invader and some think their televote score took a hit as a result). I could be overthinking it but that's a huge concern I have.
