Cody, excellent video, good practical installation pointers. Keep these install videos coming! And thanks for answering viewers' questions in the comments!
Re your positive comment on the G4 Doorbell Pro - I agree, they are great. Unlike the typical cloud-based doorbell cameras, the Unifi G4 Doorbell Pros have no lag and have continuous recording.
It would have been cool to do. This wouldn't have been done with Unifi access anyways we were going to use PDK. There will be more access videos coming in the future
That cable you were showing at about 0:50 I would undo the cable ties on the spouting and just run it up the corner. It would have made a much neater run. Unfortunately the cable ended up pretty untidy looking by going up the spout, back across the top and along to the camera. Just shows you can't leave a sparky alone to do a cable run. Edit: As a note, I am a sparky and do data cabling 😉
We didn’t run anything the electricians ran all cables through a conduit. We have the Ethernet surge protector but if it gets hit by lightning probably won’t help much
@@MactelecomNetworks man what a deal breaker that is. the fire department i run with is considering diving deep into the Unifi whole since it would allow a single interface for all the networking, security cameras, and door access. losing the PoE i get but uggghhhh this is frustrating since there is 0 documentation anywhere stating that.
With the outside AP, how do you configure security to prevent a miscreant creeping up at night and replacing it with another similar looking hacked AP?
Depending on your router/firewall, you can set that network to only allow designated MACs as well to help from people unplugging cameras/ap’s and being hardwired to your network.
Were not overly worried about people coming by and unplugging the APs. This is in a very remote location with cameras all around. The issue with mac locking when wifi clients join they wont be able to because they are not in the mac allow list

The most anticipated sequel of 2023!
Yeah
Haha. I also like the matter of fact presentation style. Looking forward to seeing gate / door access realworld install.

Hot damn this man has got some arms!
Good morning, Love the effortless terminating of cables where is I fight with them lol
love the on-site videos, man! great work!

Woohoo! What a lovely property
Darn I wanted to see the gate with UniFi access! I was thinking about doing myself and this would’ve been awesome to see if possible 😢

ive seen it done with Access and Homeassistant on YT with a solar setup.

Great video. I truly enjoy them and learn so much. Nice job as always.
That’s impressive, you slide the jack on and crimp in one fluid motion!
Can you explain how you used the in-wall vacuum system to fish the cables (is that what you did)? I have the same in-wall vacuums at my house.
CLEAN JOB
Curious on what goes into the decision to do a bullet camera vs a dome camera. Looking to add some to my house but not sure which style to get!
Love your content mate!
Thank you 😊
Great Work, thanks for sharing!
Do you have electrictions mucking up Network wiring over there as well huh?
Great video as always. Cheers
If you are going back out to the farm will you be showing some camera footage of the quality of the cameras ?
Keep up the great content.
For the runs fromthe main house to the pool house etc. how did you run the cable? How did you isolate for lightning strikes etc? Thanks!
We didn’t run anything the electricians ran all cables through a conduit. We have the Ethernet surge protector but if it gets hit by lightning probably won’t help much
Thanks.
Do you think a U6 in wall provides just a good coverage as a U6 long range AP ?
The LR would go further range. We went with the inwalls as we couldn’t get cabling into the ceiling
Hey what crimper are you using?
It's a pain having to terminate cables over your head 😢
you should use Nail Mount Cable Clamp for cables they are cat6 sizes too looks more professional and dirt cheep
Good video Cody, my only question is, How many RJ45 ends does your washing machine at home eat a month ? LOL !!!
😂 more than you’d think
HAHAHAH Oh i believe it, and screws & zipties !@@MactelecomNetworks
Don't forget to remove the clear cover on the G4 Doorbell Pro :)
😂 yup they are doing some brick work so leaving it on till that’s done
do you put Dielectric Grease outside?
Could you do a yt short close up on How to terminate cables.
How do you do that with the AP outside that no one gets access to your network there when they connect via cable?
Probably lock the port on the switch to the device with MAC or maybe something else
Any chance you have used the security access reader g2's? if so, are they still able to function if the switch or router dies or loses IP's?
If the switch dies it won’t work as it wouldn’t have power. If the firewall dies it would

Love to have these In Wall AP's better fix for European outlets. It would be a bigger job if all the walls were from stone instead of wood ;-)
I can’t find part 3 video.
excellent video and job done but that money they spent on cameras they could chand half rotten house, that yard cabin is whole rotten
With the outside AP, how do you configure security to prevent a miscreant creeping up at night and replacing it with another similar looking hacked AP?
if it gets replaced, the AP will show as disconnected in the controller
Depending on your router/firewall, you can set that network to only allow designated MACs as well to help from people unplugging cameras/ap’s and being hardwired to your network.
Probably should have mentioned turning off DHCP as well for any networks with exposed access like that.
@@JeramiFrost not a great solution when they want the AP's to provide internet access to people at the firepit, etc.

What is the UniFi model of that in-wall Wi-Fi AP?
U6-IW
Drives me absolutely insane that the Flex Switch Box door opens in the direction that it does.
I was actually thinking the same. Doesn’t make much sense
I feel like if you weren’t installing UniFi you might be a Marine Seal…. Just saying….
