There are promises that make provision for salvation and sanctification for children of believers. One of which is when Paul mentions that if at least one parent is a believer the children are sanctified.
    see 1 Corinthians 7:14.
Plus Jesus said let the children come to me when the desciples did similarly to what Voddie just described.
Also see 1 Corinthians 1:12 for Paul's rebuke on factions in the body aka denominations where people find their identity in their denominations.
Our identity is that we are children of God and not Baptist or Catholics or any of that. Those are organisations founded by people "hopefully by God's inspiration" though the point remains that the organisations themselves are not the body of Christ and our identity is in Christ.

I agree that we separate the Body of Christ by denominations, and you had no such denominations when the 1st Century church was established. A true Christian should only identify with Christ Jesus, not a church label. In 1st Timothy 1:4, when Paul is encouraging young Pastor Timothy to stay grounded in the teachings of Christ and to combat false teachings, one of the things he tell him yo avoid is questions and things that take us away from the work of God.
I love Pastor Bauchman, but I believe these denominations create more division amongst believers than anything. Christ is coming back for his bride, not a church denomination.
I am okay with church structure and organization but how does it advance the Gospel and taking care of the poor, widow, and sick? That's what we are commanded to do. Teach people how to understand scripture and live a Godly life ✨️to represent Christ in a sincere and non-hyprocritcal way.

Jesus was baptized and didn't Paul address members stating I'm of Peter, I'm of Apollos? He ended that quickly. So show me IN SCRIPTURE catholicism, presbyterian, methodist. But I see over and over and over baptizing believers

@rochelleb9843 I don't think the issue is about baptizing, but using that to set as a denomination. If I misunderstood your response, my apologies. Paul, said I am glad I didn't baptize any of you. Read 1st Corinthians 1:10-17. Verse 13 asks a question: Is Christ DIVIDED? NO, man creates division. Baptist and no other denominations were crucified for mankind and we are baptize in Jesus Name 🙏 as a symbol of dying with Christ and to our sins and raising with him in newness and looking forward to the Resurrection. It's another way the enemy has crept in to divide Christ church.

Yes and to add to this remember acts 16:33 when the man becomes a believer they baptised his whole household. So he became the believer and his whole household was baptised and later Paul in another area talks about how children are made holy by their parents.

How do you raise children if you attend a Baptist church?
It’s really odd that we tell our kids that mommy and daddy love and trust Jesus and that the kids can love and trust Jesus but we won’t know if their faith is genuine until they are older. Do we treat them as unbelievers and tell them to trust Jesus but also that if they trust Jesus we don’t know of their faith is genuine yet so we still treat them as unbelievers or do we have them baptized and become members of the church?

    • @ulusalani
      @ulusalani 6 місяців тому +3

Why would you "have them baptized?" You can't make anyone a Christian. Being baptized is a decision that should be made by every individual for himself when he is mature enough to make that decision. Maybe the best we can do for our children is to always pray with them -- every day. Make prayer a family event. And most importantly, show them Christ's love and Christian household leadership every day of the week -- not just on Sundays. And then go to your prayer closet and never stop praying for the salvation of your children.

The children will get baptized when they repent and believe in the lord Jesus. But this weird cut off because of fundamental baptist beliefs is not in line with scripture.

So many children believe at young age & they themselves know they trusted Jesus.
& some believe as to & some believe in their adult life.
In mean time we continue to do all what Christ command

Help with this, everyone seems to avoid the answer when faced with scripture, deciding to use man’s interpretation. If a man was divorced 33 years ago when he was lost, he remarried 2X years ago and was saved, accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior 5 years ago, why can he not serve? Man’s interpretation is that he is not the husband of one wife. The infallible Word of God promises us that God forgives all sin when the old man dies and the new man is born, casting the sin as far as the east from the west. God forgives all sin when you come to Him through the Son. So man condemns and restricts a man for past sins, but God forgives the new man of past sins. Is man putting himself above God? Are they nullifying the sacrifice on The Cross and the foundation of Christianity? God forbid if you forgive not your brother, then you shall expect no forgiveness from God. Thank God that these modern day Pharisees were not there when Barnabas defended Saul/Paul. God says he is forgiven, man says he is not forgiven. Do you believe so deeply in your opinion that you are willing to risk your soul by ignoring scripture. I know you not is a scary thought.

Hmmmmmm.... Interesting question. After reading your post, I went to Google and did a search. I found that there are a great number of articles from various pastors and Christian organizations that deal with this issue. And there are different interpretations. Please, go take a look at the number of articles there are and read those that interest you. May our Lord Christ Jesus lead you to truth and understanding.

Great point. What is the scriptural definition of marriage? Between a man and a woman. A drunkard is forgiven, a murderer is forgiven and many other sins, if you are reborn and in compliance with scripture. We seek a biblical answer to the husband of one wife that is the intent of the gospel. Consider, if God had meant one marriage, He could has stated a divorced man, He does know that term. Or possibly, after his rebirth, a one woman man, a man loyal to his one woman. Which sounds in compliance with God’s power of forgiveness, mercy, grace and ever loving kindness?

I do wonder when someone preaches the law, in the manner of Pharisees, and dismisses the sacrifice on the cross, which gave us the mercy of God through grace. A true Christian does not live under the law, but lives under grace, per the gospel. One thing is very clear, the Pharisees did not hold themselves under the law, but judged all others. Truth be told, every self righteous man that feels this way is married only one time, a sinner and a dirty rag, but claims superiority upon himself, while denying the power of Christ. I will stand with the mercy, grace and forgiveness given to all sinners when they are reborn, not discriminate against one sin in order to be a stumbling block.

Who says a man who has had previous wives before he was saved cannot serve? Of course, he can serve. He can knock on doors to evangelise; he can help with the poor, sick and the vulnerable or welcome newcomers with hospitality, etc. No one says he isn’t allowed to serve God in so many ways.
But if God Himself states in Titus that he cannot serve as an ELDER if he has more than one wife, then, who are you, O Man, to question God, God’s will as clearly revealed & demand His reasoning? If God says so, that was good enough for Peter (to let down his nets). And should be good enough for you and us, if you are Bible-believing.

I sure am glad you did not live when Saul was called to serve as an apostle, for you diminish the blood and the cross, the basis of the New Testament and Jesus. We can always disagree, you can always be wrong. I put my faith in the mercy, grace and forgiveness given in His Word, not in a self-serving man’s opinion. Imagine, The Book of Life is open, I fall at the foot of The Cross for forgiveness, you stand on your opinion/interpretation.

Isn’t the belief that a person should go through manmade rites of passage to become a member harkening back to what happened in the synagogues? Wasn’t that why it became a merchant relationship and why Christ came and taught the correct way so that no man can excommunicate a believer in Jesus Christ or separate them from worship? Where two or more are gathered in His name still holds today in the Body of Christ with the membership being in the Lambs Book of Life for He is the only one that can judge the heart.
