The DLC isn't bad but the timing is. I've not even finished one of my first projects yet and was just happy with bug fixes and improvements. The negative response to the DLC overshadows the positives of the update.
Cities: Skylines 2 avoided this by bundling their early content in Ultimate Edition - So why can't deluxe players also be paying for further DLC, especially the prepurchase ones?
Same, but I don't rlly mind it because it's a ride pack. If it had been a scenery pack it would have bothered me more, because I have not nearly spent enough time with the new scenery.
I get the feeling that the development side of the planet coaster team is getting stretched past their limit by the side of frontier that wants to cash in on this game. None of these bugs are things developers with enough time couldn’t solve, but when you have an unrealistic deadline, you start having to cut corners.
When you told your daughter to quiet down I realized I was listening to her like “she’s having so much fun, she must be adorable, wonder if she bi-lingual” all while ignoring YOU! 😂. Hope she feels better soon, you’re a wonderful Dad!
No one should be spending $10USD on 5 rides for this game right now. It's offensive they even did this. They really need a reworked and simplified UI before anyone should be buying anything else.
Just buy it from a grey market key reseller. That way you can still enjoy the DLC without giving your money to frontier. Once they release a fairly priced DLC and the game isn’t completely broken they can take my money lol.
One thing everyone overlooked is if you use the higher flume sides, the guest will actually ride higher on slide banks. I don't mind slides now they are a lot better.
@@arentsteen5452 Yeah, the difference is that back then it was easier because the pieces were premade; PlanCo2 needs to generate physics every time you create a flume, which is incredibly hard if you know anything about game development.

@sveinsvein4372 I always used the fences, quite frankly I had no clue the kerbs also did this untill people started saying they didn't anymore in the new game lol, I'm plenty happy they got it to work with the new pathing, especially after they said at first it didn't work intentionally

I think Frontier made a choice not to make the water slides and flumes physics-based fairly early on in development as a cost/dev time cutting method and no amount of criticism from players will make them rethink that decision. The changes they have made are very slight animation changes and nothing more and expecting anything more is a waste of time IMO. I'm sure there's plenty of other things they could fix/work on that would lead to a much better player-experience at the end of the day. Either way, still haven't purchased this game and don't plan to do so until the game is in a much better shape with more content.
Half true. It was an intentional design choice, but it's not impossible to add better flumes in the future. Any major rework wasn't going to be done within one month of launch. It's possible to add new types of flumes later that do use better physics, but it probably wouldn't be for several months from now. Even if they do, however, they still need to support the current slides, otherwise it will break everyone's existing parks and blueprints. So they might as well pretty-up the current flumes as much as possible before ditching them for something better.
Linear Induction Motors vs Linear Synchronous Motors. LIM is like the throw power at it approach, easier to accomplish with rudimentary controllers, you're just shoving a chunk of metal with magnetic fields. While LSM is a more refined and timed precisely, the track and the vehicles have magnets on them that need to oppose each other at the right times. LIM you're also kinda "locked in" magnetically to travel at the same rate as the fields being generated by the system due to how that works, where LSM you could potentially sail through them and they just try to add energy if they can.
I'm not buying the DLC until triggers auto looping in blueprints are fixed. This is gamebreaking for me. That and I think it's too much to ask for without any extra scenery items. To bundle it into a premium version is also a slap in the face for those who bought the deluxe edition at launch.

From a technical perspective the flumes are just rollercoasters. That’s why they appear to be ‘on rails’ - they literally are, but all that is just hidden. There are physics calculations, but they are not modelled using object-based physics interactions, which is why they don’t react correctly as they move around in the tubes - it’s just baked animations picked from the results of the calculations, not actually simulated. That’s why they look terrible, and that’s why, even with the next release where they can ‘derail’ (again, like coasters do if you don’t finish the track) they won’t look any better. It’s really disappointing.

That dlc should be in the base game or should be free, just like 3 extra themes like western ,fantasy and another one. At the end of the ride a 40 or 50$ game will cost 250+ which is a scam in my eyes!
I still dont find the new slide physics realistic. Ive been on many of these tube slides like at the beginning and I have never seen anyone turn around completely or even be anything but straight ahead
What is still insane to me is why the raft slides have flat bottoms. Obviously proper momentum would be the best but even though it isn't perfect, the motion with the body slides is honestly reasonable, so I cannot fathom why the raft slides don't just work like that. It doesn't matter to me how believable the behavior is if they aren't even proper water slides to begin with. I simply don't want to use the water park features until they're fixed. Not even out of protest but simply because I'm just not interested in using them in their current state. Which sucks because, when they were first announced, I was so excited about them. And as for the DLC, I was having fun with the game so far even with all the bugs, and there were plenty, but the game was not launch ready. It was totally broken in so many ways and yet they pushed it out charged the price of a full release. I'm not interested in saying "give them a break they're working on it" because "working on it" is what you do before the full release. And I understand tiny little fringe bugs get through sometimes and need to be patched but these weren't tiny little fringe bugs. These were glaring issues. To push this out in an unfinished state and ask people to pay full price is already shameful, but I was willing to put up with the jank to play with the new features. But to then release an overpriced DLC out of nowhere alongside an update that gets the game a little closer to being launch ready? To slightly improve on an unfinished game that you've already charged a full release price for, and then have the gall to ask for more money? Scumbag behavior. As far as I'm concerned, frontier has gone ahead and dragged their own name through the mud and are gonna have to do some major course corrections to get me to have faith that they actually care about their fans again.
The UI change so far is so nice!!! I only played for about 20 minutes this morning and it such an improvement. I literally haven't played much since launch because the UI was so bad! 😭
I just got into the planet games about a year ago, so i'm not a seasoned veteran. That being said, after watching all of these planet coaster and planet zoo videos on youtube, I can conclusively say that the fans of this game are the most picky crybabies i've ever seen
I noticed the chairs before the outro. They spaced out after a full cycle cuz they were in the initial load position and since it doesn’t stop they needed to run to space out properly.
Tbh the price for the DLC is just to high, also weird calling it a thrill seekers pack with only 1 thrill coaster, they could have added in a rmc raptor and maybe a vekoma STC to make it more worth, I am happy though we finally have some new modern family coasters in the game but we still miss so many classic coaster rides We still need a zierer tivoli, so common in real life but not in the game, a proper powered coaster, a mack wild mouse, a old vekoma junior coaster, suspended family coaster, gerstlauer bobsled, alot more family coaster that need to get added
I think that the physics are weird because it isnt what they fully wanted, i have a feeling they wanted to give the players a limited acces of the better physics because some people were complaing a lot about the physics + i dont think it was originally planned for this update. Love the update and dlc tho!
rudi was too real for frontier lol, wtf is going on at their studio - this dlc announcement, while so many parts of the game are broken or underwhelming af, is a joke
OMG WHEN do they implement water physics? The most important thing is water physics. I mean it doesn’t have to be the best. But a semi solution would be the best to start with
Not a month after launch, lmao. Adding the proper physics requires a total rework of the flumes, and that would take _several_ months from now to complete. Work on something else in the meantime if it's that big a dealbreaker.
Unless it’s a bug from what I’ve seen if you have load & unload stations you can then only have a max of 2 trains which kinda defeats the point of having the 2 stations in the first place
@ when I selected block section the option to select number of trains disappeared, only the option to change number of cars. I could only get 2 trains with standard
I think they are unfortunately going to go down this route as they have started now, where it kind of looks physics based but is just a combination of preset things that look decent for slides. A shame to see but I’m sure it will still look better over time
Yesss! First I thought I had some setting wrong with all the options for alignment but I have not found a way to make them stick to the grid which would be such a useful function!
I legit don't care about physics and the looks an the quality of life stuff. Have they fixed the actual park management?? The mechanics fixing rides and infrastructure quickly enough. The cleaners actually cleaning bins and bathrooms etc. Guests getting stuck on paths because they can't get past a flume but could go around the pool. I spend the majority of the game chasing this up which is so frustrating!
Too many issues after this update, crashes when going to main menu, crashes when going to settings. Trybcopying path textures and see another bug, empty notifications and so much more. It's a bug fest.
I can't stop laughing that those greddy sob's want to sell me a DLC now :D They really can stick it. I would never ever pay Frontier one cent for anything. Where are my 1000 bugfixes to get a playable "game" and not only a lego builder? my billboards, custom sounds, custom music, custom video walls, *list goes on forever*
2:50 dude this slide would unironically not even work safely in real life 😂 this is physics doing physics to the extent that it is possible on this layout lol
@@RudiRennkamel I wouldn't be surprised if they add the flying out behavior that the guests would be flying out here, no offense of course Rudi, your layout makes total sense in it's environment, but even with higher edges, I feel like this slide would give you some actual and very literal airtime! It's honestly pretty fast
I think it's foolish for anyone to have assumed that Frontier would be able to completely overhaul the water park flumes _1 month after launch._ What this update does in the meantime is to pretty up the current flumes, and make them a bit nicer. But what's needed is a complete overhaul... which will not happen for several months at minimum. Sorry to burst the bubble of everyone complaining about the current flumes, but that's just reality.
in my opinion the double station promised a lot but unfortunately is to limiting :/ imagine a coaster station just long enough to fit 1 train with 4 cars. now you need to link up an entrance queue, a priority queue + another path for the staff gate. they should allow us to place it on the other side or even plance it on the exit station. for a duelling coaster with double station youd need to link up 6 paths while somehow trying to then cover that all up with a station building and themeing, basically taking up soooooooo much space it isnt even fun anymore. other than that i see some major bugs were fixed for me with the "free" update. really happy about that and hope they keep going :) the dlc im not even gonna start to rant about 😂
Thank you for the information about the great first update💪👍 Good improvements, but does Shift+Mouse still not work as multi-select???? A quick word about the first ride pack... What kind of compilation is that for the first pack??? Really weak, who was waiting for such unknown rides? Unfortunately they aren't pretty either... And 5 are far too few for 10 €🫣. The first packs in particular should have been hits, Frontier knows what everyone is waiting for, I don't understand that, I won't buy it and have actually always bought them all (Planco1)... Would have expected 8-10 at this price, especially Little Venezian Carousel, Rocktopus, Flying Shark, Break Dancer, Condor Instamin Coaster etc... And I'm hoping for a Family Ride and Coaster pack!!! Western or Pirate Themes with shops, vendor machines? There is so much that is finished. In Planco and Planet Zoo alone we have 50 of them...🤔 And please give us some backstage props, like from Planet Zoo, and a few cars for the parking lots...😍
The update was free and they’re fixing everything we mention! Let’s give Frontier a break! The game looks amazing, I’ll be playing on console when I finally update my console!
I thought so too at first but I am kind of sick of game companies being let off the hook for crap initial releases. And that goes for every game. I give indie games more leeway but Frontier isnt indie. More like AA and at that point you have to have solid QA and player expectation modelling.
This game is a mess. Frontier needs to refund all money and start over. We got a water park (that doesn't work), a terrible UI, and they dropped about 1/2 of what was already in a 10 year old game called Planet Coaster 1. Roller Coaster Tycoon added water park functionality with just a DLC 20 years ago. And it works better. What a shame. Frontier is just Atari 2.0 at this point.
They are a small studio and need cash, let‘s hope they are not bought by some huge company and can continue working on this with passion. I am happy to buy every dlc.
540 swing & unicoaster - ok dlc rides Strike ride - EXCELLENT dlc ride Ultra spinner & lim family launch - terrible idea to make dlc (who decided prepurchase players, especially deluxe, would still have to buy all but 1 dlc from now on?)
@RudiRennkamel Yeah, we can build a launch section but not like OG Shuttle Loop (flywheel launch or weight drop launch) it's a kind of launch like this on Psyké Underground and the train doesn't go on the rear spike) I don't know if I am understandable
Let's be real. Gamers also have a tendency to complain.. Oh planco 2 was so bad on launch, how dare they releasing a game in this state (which was fair for the state we got the game in). Now a lot of fixes to QoL have been made, there is less to complain. Instead of addressing the positives, people start complaining about the optional paid DLC and mention nothing about the improvements that have been made. Paid DLC at launch is a bit iffy. However.. people play CoD etc. A $110 base game vault edition and people buy skin packs like there is no tomorrow. It gets so much hate from the community, yet everyone keeps buying skins and vault editions every single year. This is where the problem lies. We can complain about companies all day long, if we keep buying, the companies keep doing it. Complaining is not the sollution, changing your own consumer behavior is. Personally, im fine with the $10 for 2 new coasters and a couple of flat rides. Should they have been in the base game? perhaps. I think the deluxe edition should have been base game and this dlc could be the price it is. But over at frontier they have decided this was the way to go. Remember companies have shareholders and people that want to see money. I firmly believe the development team behind planet coaster2 is a team of passion. Their aim is not to bleed us dry, but higher up choices get made. These choices once again, wont be influenced by attacking the dev team and their product.. these get influenced by gamers making wiser consumer choices and not destroying a dev team by complaining the entire time like they are entitled children.
Releasing a DLC in the absolutely buggy and unfinished state of the game shows impressively how little the studio cares about the players. PlaCo 2 is an early access game that was released as finished only to be able to sell completely overpriced DLCs to rip off customers even more! For me, the game, and therefore Frontiers, has put itself in a position where they won't get another cent from me. This also applies to future games. Too bad.
The DLC isn't bad but the timing is. I've not even finished one of my first projects yet and was just happy with bug fixes and improvements. The negative response to the DLC overshadows the positives of the update.

26:18 - Linear Induction Motors. They're magnetic launch systems like LSMs, but more energy-intensive, so they're not as popular these days.
Ahhh so I was not wrong for once
Although the dlc rides are okay (I guess) I don't want the 2nd PC team to get sloppy and continue offering these subpar dlc's.
right mouse click exits the most top game function. It's an escape button to whatever menu you have opened
Still no media based screenshot… 😢
I don't ususally get motion sickness from PC videos, but that coaster was rough. Thanks for posting the overview!
Too much $ for too little stuff. For the fist time I will pass on a DLC for a Planet game.
Shut up their trying
Alena, ein bisschen ruhiger bitte 😂😂
Richtig schöner Park! Ich frage mich nur, warum die Besucher bei dir auch den Lazy River nicht benutzen...
Tbh the price for the DLC is just to high, also weird calling it a thrill seekers pack with only 1 thrill coaster, they could have added in a rmc raptor and maybe a vekoma STC to make it more worth, I am happy though we finally have some new modern family coasters in the game but we still miss so many classic coaster rides
We still need a zierer tivoli, so common in real life but not in the game, a proper powered coaster, a mack wild mouse, a old vekoma junior coaster, suspended family coaster, gerstlauer bobsled, alot more family coaster that need to get added
theres a damn auto connect button at the top
I think that the physics are weird because it isnt what they fully wanted, i have a feeling they wanted to give the players a limited acces of the better physics because some people were complaing a lot about the physics + i dont think it was originally planned for this update. Love the update and dlc tho!
rudi was too real for frontier lol, wtf is going on at their studio - this dlc announcement, while so many parts of the game are broken or underwhelming af, is a joke
did anyone else see the guests flying out of the pool at 6:17 and 6:23 near the left side of the cable car post??
OMG WHEN do they implement water physics? The most important thing is water physics. I mean it doesn’t have to be the best. But a semi solution would be the best to start with
Not a month after launch, lmao.
Adding the proper physics requires a total rework of the flumes, and that would take _several_ months from now to complete.
Work on something else in the meantime if it's that big a dealbreaker.
1:15 wondering when they are going to fix that annoying ghosting (look at the dummy’s feet)
20:52 Why can't we control the time of day with more precision like we could in planco 1 and Planet Zoo? Wtf
I have no idea...
Unless it’s a bug from what I’ve seen if you have load & unload stations you can then only have a max of 2 trains which kinda defeats the point of having the 2 stations in the first place
Also with block section?
@ when I selected block section the option to select number of trains disappeared, only the option to change number of cars. I could only get 2 trains with standard
@@matt64allisonI made a multidimension coaster with five trains that used the load/unload stations. So not sure what your problem is
I’d also like to see them update the Waterslide rider cam. But it is great they are actively working on improving everything!
i found it fine before the update, now im getting really bad screen tearing riding the flumes
I think they are unfortunately going to go down this route as they have started now, where it kind of looks physics based but is just a combination of preset things that look decent for slides. A shame to see but I’m sure it will still look better over time
I need an easier way to build. I want the half sized walls to attach to a building without me having to eyeball it in the spot.
Yesss! First I thought I had some setting wrong with all the options for alignment but I have not found a way to make them stick to the grid which would be such a useful function!
They are not grid based objects so won't align with the grid
6:14 why did those people go flying randomly on the bottom left near the square pool?
i didn't see that the first time lol
Is it me or does the people mover have a fully loaded track at 30:58?
And he tells us at 37:00 nothing to see here folks.
Yeah I saw that too. Magic.
yeah, at 24:16 it still has the gap and thats probably the last time in video to be seen.
It's a bug fest.
they did make it so the omni mover doesnt stop anymore
I can't stop laughing that those greddy sob's want to sell me a DLC now :D They really can stick it. I would never ever pay Frontier one cent for anything. Where are my 1000 bugfixes to get a playable "game" and not only a lego builder? my billboards, custom sounds, custom music, custom video walls, *list goes on forever*
The default color of the flume is purple because it is your daughter's favorite color.
It is!
6:17 guest slingshot near the centre chairlifts
No idea what's causing it haha
14:47 Deutschhh
2:50 dude this slide would unironically not even work safely in real life 😂 this is physics doing physics to the extent that it is possible on this layout lol
Well but still glued to one side weirdly
@@RudiRennkamel I wouldn't be surprised if they add the flying out behavior that the guests would be flying out here, no offense of course Rudi, your layout makes total sense in it's environment, but even with higher edges, I feel like this slide would give you some actual and very literal airtime! It's honestly pretty fast
I think it's foolish for anyone to have assumed that Frontier would be able to completely overhaul the water park flumes _1 month after launch._
What this update does in the meantime is to pretty up the current flumes, and make them a bit nicer. But what's needed is a complete overhaul... which will not happen for several months at minimum.
Sorry to burst the bubble of everyone complaining about the current flumes, but that's just reality.
vector is vekoma =D
Ah too easy
I'm glad about the fixes, but I'm passing on this DLC.
in my opinion the double station promised a lot but unfortunately is to limiting :/ imagine a coaster station just long enough to fit 1 train with 4 cars. now you need to link up an entrance queue, a priority queue + another path for the staff gate. they should allow us to place it on the other side or even plance it on the exit station. for a duelling coaster with double station youd need to link up 6 paths while somehow trying to then cover that all up with a station building and themeing, basically taking up soooooooo much space it isnt even fun anymore.
other than that i see some major bugs were fixed for me with the "free" update. really happy about that and hope they keep going :)
the dlc im not even gonna start to rant about 😂
Thank you for the information about the great first update💪👍 Good improvements, but does Shift+Mouse still not work as multi-select????
In Planco and Planet Zoo alone we have 50 of them...🤔
And please give us some backstage props, like from Planet Zoo, and a few cars for the parking lots...😍
Good call, there's so much already available...
♥ thank you for the overview
The update was free and they’re fixing everything we mention! Let’s give Frontier a break! The game looks amazing, I’ll be playing on console when I finally update my console!
I thought so too at first but I am kind of sick of game companies being let off the hook for crap initial releases. And that goes for every game.
I give indie games more leeway but Frontier isnt indie. More like AA and at that point you have to have solid QA and player expectation modelling.
The "update" is basically a patch. Putting out a 2 bucks per ride DLC at the same time just a month after release is insulting.
go to 6:10 and look at the bottom edge of the top left pool ahahahahaha people are launching into the sky when they try to get out of the water 😂
I just noticed this! 🤣🤣
@ must be some of the code sneaking in for when the guests flying off the slides😂😂😂
Hi to the minicamel! (Also Momcamel and Babycamel)
Bro can you start doing time stamps?
This game is a mess. Frontier needs to refund all money and start over. We got a water park (that doesn't work), a terrible UI, and they dropped about 1/2 of what was already in a 10 year old game called Planet Coaster 1. Roller Coaster Tycoon added water park functionality with just a DLC 20 years ago. And it works better. What a shame. Frontier is just Atari 2.0 at this point.
They are a small studio and need cash, let‘s hope they are not bought by some huge company and can continue working on this with passion. I am happy to buy every dlc.
800 employees is not "small"
already built one, def can invert
ah nice!
I just need swing launches.....
540 swing & unicoaster - ok dlc rides
Strike ride - EXCELLENT dlc ride
Ultra spinner & lim family launch - terrible idea to make dlc (who decided prepurchase players, especially deluxe, would still have to buy all but 1 dlc from now on?)
DLC: Why don't you say it as it is? It is a lame ripp-off. Thanks for nothing.
The dlc kills these company and game for me. I’ll never buy again from them.
Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop still not operational
Really? Eek
@RudiRennkamel Yeah, we can build a launch section but not like OG Shuttle Loop (flywheel launch or weight drop launch) it's a kind of launch like this on Psyké Underground and the train doesn't go on the rear spike) I don't know if I am understandable
@@Gaylor_ mine doesn't even go back to the station :/ the wheels keep on launching the train. I don't know what I do wrong :/
@@gauthierdeclerck2746 I hope they will update all that problems
Too bad.
Called it about the dlc
Another game lost in the Oblivion....
