My 2013 Fusion SE, with 235K and 6F35 tranny, just started whining. I suspect the oil pump has failed. Fluid was last changed at 100k. I'm a very capable home mechanic of 40 years with all the tools needed. What are your thoughts on rebuilding this tranny, given the mileage? The car is in great mechanical condition and runs like new. I've been very impressed by this car over the years. Thanks, Greg

Sorry to hear. If the fluid level is OK then you're probably right

Is there anything in particular that I should watch for while rebuilding it? @BigBensCarsAndCycles

I bought a 2021 Ford 150 a few weeks ago, it has 75,000km on it, 10R80 tran, I'm going to be servicing transmission very soon and was thinking of using the ams transmission fluid rather than the motorcraft. What is your take on that? Thank you.

Can i use pennzoil syncromesh oil in this transmission?

Have you seen any 6f35 transmissions with super high mileage? I.e. 300k? How common are turbo issues on the 2.0 ecoboosts? Is the carbon build up as much an issue as most people say it is? If so, anything I can do to help minimize it besides using a good oil and more frequent changes? Thanks 😊

I've seen escapes with 300k plus miles. I believe they all had the 2.5l. The 6f35 internals are OK if you service the transmission like a madman. And I don't think carbon is as much of an issue as it was

I have 2 codes one is p0748 on a 2008 Mazda tribute then the other is the low pressure one .... From the p09748.. getting the solenoid tomorrow hoping that it's not the valve body and just the solenoid

And it's the overdrive 4 speed not just the 4 speed reg tranny

I think the "don't service a high mileage Ford transmission" myth comes from the old C6, C4 transmissions where there were several small screws that you had to remove to change the screen, these screws are very close to the valve bores and if over tightened would distort the valve bores and cause the valves to stick or not move at all. I think the torque is 40 or 50 In. pounds which can be achieved with a nut driver using little hand strength, but never the less once the valve bore's roundness is compromised it's difficult to bring back even with the valve body taken apart, the casting always wants to continue to deflect once distorted from over tightening. So if the screen is clean, just let it be.

Do u think a Ford dealership would change the slave bearing, clutch forks only on my 150k mile focus dct? Seals, clutch, actuators are still fine....like to keep this at a 2k bill

I don't think so. because if the clutch does have some related damage, they'll have a hard time telling you to pay for pulling the transmission twice. I recommend ordering the clutch kit on amazon and bringing it to them. No warranty, but it's oem and will save you $1k in parts markup. amzn.to/48ppwVJ

I need your help please since your a ford tech . Got a 2014 fusion 2.0 with 6f35 trans , jolt/ thug 2-3 and sometimes also 1-2 gear ? Changed trans fluid with castrol and still does it , shop did twice a flush only

@Godisthepath I would recommend replacing the valve body and solenoid body. If 2 to 3 is still firm it needs a direct drum

I was in hilly terrain and I noticed the tachometer on my Focus creeping up a bit while on a high gear during a steep hill. Like the clutches where slipping. Do you know if this is intended operation or there might be something off with my DPS6? There are no service lights on and it is otherwise working great.

During coasting? If so, clutch actuator B may be failing. If during accel, you may have something else going on
