@@rabellasia as far as I can tell, it doesn't particularly have to do with the haunted house. It seems like our guy is likely a werewolf, and the listener biting him during their escapade upstairs and probably ingesting a bit of his blood somehow caused her to turn.
Given his frazzled state and business before getting to the party, as well as the multiple overlapping howls at the end, it's likely a full moon and the listener's not only been infected but is turning immediately because of it.
He's trying to get her away from the party to help her through her first transformation, but she freaks out and runs off into the woods when he's not explaining anything and it starts happening.
