Part of why medbay stayed safe is that HOS called earlier in the round to make sure we had sec defending medbay since we would win a war of attrition which we did.
Hay I was the “bunch of spiders in a SWAT suit” nukie. are initial plan was to hit gravity, but one of the nukies really wanted to use the lube bombs and then of course the rads destroyed us I was nearly dead like 60% of the fight from the rads lmao. And yeah, I think we really just completely forgot to think out of the box but to be fair I was out of bombs. Over all fun fight wish nukie had more stuff to mess with on war ops
Yeah, until mechs and things like discounts are added, no amount of TC is gonna give you a real solid chance against an entire armed crew with weapons just as good as yours. Was a really fun round to watch.
I was the CE. I always make liberal use of my holofan. The reason the crew has so many uranium rounds is partially because I took it from engi. I was also setting bridge access to maintenance so people wouldn't be trapped in there, but then the lube killed them lol. The lube grenades and attempted lubethrower are why I submitted this replay. :)
Me (engi) and a paramedic spent the shift scouting space with our jetpacks. The call that they were at the ATS went off, so I went with salv to it, but because nukies destroyed comms we had no way of knowing that they had appeared elsewhere. We spent our time gathering resources from cargo, only to find the sec fab had been moved elsewhere. I've won entire nukie rounds off destroying comms. I'd argue its even more influential than taking armory, medbay, or cargo. A unified crew is what you fear, so disrupting that causes major problems and can lead to you fighting a much smaller force at a time than otherwise.
Original Cap here! There was like, 3 other Captains (think it was due to event) that really wasted the nukkies time. You can see up top I almost got caught in a push but they decided to finally try and stop medical instead.
There was a similar round to this… yesterday, there were regular nukeops on salam core, where I played as CMO. I managed to grind a strange pill mid-round before the nukies arrived, that contained amatoxin, which I essentially put in a beaker and forgot about, until the nukies came showed up… Once they reached to the Cargo-Medical hallway, I managed to run up to the commander and took him down with the power of a hypospray and poison. Granted, I was shot down IMMEDIATELY after, but it was worth.
Why don't they destroy the gravity system (power supply)? Why don't they turn off the electricity in general? Why don't they send a disguised saboteur separately?
I was Weaver Webber Chemist from med this shift, even if Nukies was gonna blow med up, I had made a lot of critical medication, burn and rads was the key items that med was cautious of. Additionally if the nukie did blew the window up, we had a backup plan where we'd use the cryo area as healing area, so there's a lot of resource for attempting to destroy med. Unfortunately crew did not make much "fortification" walls despite being War, but crew was very equiped by the time they arrived. They should've really went for grav that round.
For delta V you cannot portal to the ats, but you can use the exclusive bluespace lockers to accomplish the same, mind you only one set of them exists on the station, and those can be any boxes or lockers.
Makes me wonder if they really don't like to so much, they could have ATS be it's own sector again (like planets). So you have to FTL to get to it Considering people used to push the ATS to the station, this is an improvement
How is a portal to the ATS powergaming? If anything it seems like a more convenient and easier way for cargo to do their jobs if RD is willing to part with it for a shift.
@@Trux2010 Power gaming literally translates to, "Don't rush of prepare equipment unrelated to your job". If RD is willing to allow cargo to use his teleporter to make their jobs easier, I don't even remotely see how that could be regarded as powergame. Now if QM spawns in, runs to sci and demands the teleporter, or goes onto command radio and begs the captain to get the teleporter for them. Sure that could be powergame. But classifying the entire thing as powergame is stupid. Powergame is a fucking dumb rule. Anything and I mean anything can be regarded as powergame, its a rule that they just throw at anything.
@@Trux2010 Because setting up portals is entirely within the RD's job. There's nothing that stops him from making that portal lead wherever they desire, even if that portal leads to the ATS. It seems to me its just a poor interaction of mechanics between the ATS, which is meant to be far away, and the hand teleporter, which can nullify any distance. The maintainers at Wizden, if they wanted to, could fix this by either making the ATS something that needs to be FTLed to, like it originally was, or they need to artificially limit the distance that the hand teleporter can operate from and somehow anchor the ATS in place.
i know the admins on Salamander are very unhappy about you docking the ATS to the station to the point that they sometimes use rods against people for that but from the times I have asked the admins they seemed fine with having the portal to the ATS as you give up the other uses of the portal for that.

as warops it can be a smart move to send an undercover agent to crew to surprise attack/bomb, and you can even get some free weapons
For 36 tc you can get a guy to ruin medical and kill/gib a bunch of people

Hey Lilten, got a nukie round to check out, more of a gimick op than anything, round #54219 on salamander :)
