Thanks dude. I used your measuring cup method and had my forks off, springs and oil done, and forks back on in 45 minutes. First time I’ve ever done anything like that. No specialty BS tools. 🤙🏼
Thank you for this video. Looking forward to more updates on how you like the upgraded springs. You are doing a great job on your video's. I hope you stick with it.
Okay brotha. I am working my way through every video you have ever put out. Loving it so far. You have inspired me. Getting a bike this spring. The thing that made me comment now and never before, that pic at the end. LMAO that's funny. Keep them coming brotha.
I haven't changed out my springs yet. I did have to fully disassemble my forks to clear out a bunch of water and rust that had gotten into them from sitting in the snow for four seasons in a row. I got a fluid measuring device after TWForums told me how to do it. You can play with the fluid levels within a certain limit, but I couldn't tell any difference afterward. One thing they did tell me to do, and I have no idea if it matters, is to pump the shocks with the caps off after you add the oil to get air out of the lower part of the fork. I have no idea if it matters, as to me, it seems like it would correct itself anyway. I also used 15 weight, didn't like it, and went back to 7 weight. 15 was great for coming off rocks, but sucked for small hits. Thanks for the video. I think a lot of people need to know how to do this stuff.
One of the best upgrades you can do! I went with the cartridge emulators, and stiffer rear spring as well. I’m planning on having my rear shock revalved, then that’s it, Tdub suspension is leveled up and maxed out! It really does make a difference. Enjoy!
I have an xt225 and love the 15w oil in it. I also used 1oz more oil per side which increases the air pressure as the front compresses. Love that closing pic, perfect!
I did same fork springs and the heavier rear spring ... I an 225 so made a huge difference.... using front brake is now “safe” don’t dive in anymore stays stable
Minor suggestion: Before unscrewing top cap on fork tube, loosen the two clamp screws around the tube. This takes pressure off the cap threads. Saw this in a Yamaha OEM service manual.
Just found you Chl the other day, gonna start moding my TW125 & your vids have been a huge help ... i live in Scotland so no sand here lol Time to jump to your next vid. Awesome content dude !
Thanks for watching man . Surprisingly I have a lot of viewers from Scotland or the UK . I own a NC700x and it's more popular over there than in the states
Dustin, Great upgrade bro! It'll be cool to hear your thoughts on these compared to the OE version. 2:53 🤣🤣 2:59 🤣🤣 Dude, I think your new springs might be defective.. They caused you not to crash in this video.. lol
Let us know what ya think ? I’m 198 lbs. I bought the same kit you have. I don’t jump my tw and haven’t bottomed out the stock springs yet. And have ridden fairly aggressively, I won’t put the new ones in till I know it’s a better ride and or actually bottom out the stock springs. Maybe my stock springs are still great since I only have 1000 miles on the bike. ?? Interested to see what you think on the new springs. 👍👍👍
Timely video... I just upgraded the springs in my sertao with progressive springs from hyperpro. I too, upgraded to 15 wt oil. Unfortunately its been too cold and wet to try them out. I also have the rear spring to swap out. That's not as easy for me on the 650 as most bikes. Looks like you are having fun. Thanks for sharing. ~Grizz
Think of your front-axle as an 'alignment tool'... Slide it through 1 fork leg, align the wheel so the axle goes through, then align the other fork leg so the axle finishes it's way through there too.. [Just make sure the triple tree clamps are loose enough to allow for some sliding/twisting]
Great video. I need to do that Bad!!! Cant wait for the complete ride review. Do you plan on ever getting the emulators? Not sure how much more they would help. Im a Fat Bastard. A Fighting 215lbs. LOL
I am thinking about it. But I am a cheap bastard lol. If the setup I got now works good then just gonna rock with that. Had to pay bills and do a lot of insurance stuff this week and need to take a break from spending money on a perfectly good to go motorcycle lol
@@dualdorks I quess I need to get mine running before I start on the forks. LOL Ive been spending Money on this like I have money. Which I do not have. LOL
What spring rate did you go with? I’m seeing a few options on Procycle’s site? Would you get the same one again or a different rate if you were to do it all over again from the start?
You make a lovely bride.
I can't wait for a two month update on the springs, thanks

Just bought a 2021 for my daughter. I took her for a ride. Talk about unsafe. No reason them springs are that soft.

i cant wait for U to let us know how they really ride! & I gota how much air can U jump challenge Lol loved Ur last cam angle gettin sum air.
My daughter asked me what I want for Christmas. I said a dual dorks shirt saying subscriber. I will let you know how it turns out.
Great vid! Btw, your neighbor across the way has a sweet tiny home over der!
Its sick. If I had the truck to pull the behemoth I would have looked into getting one a long time ago .

I want to swap the rear shock sometime soon as well. I miss the suspension on my old xr650r. It was perfectly dialed in for me
Great video, where did you get the seat cover? Also did you use conduit for the front rack?✌🤘👍
The seat cover is the Mad Dog ATV seat cover and the rack is steel. Conduit puts out extremely toxic fumes if you weld it .
Imagine getting ridden by tdubs!
Happy honeymoon!
Great breakdown of the instruction. When you do this to a bike, generally speaking, do you need to align the forks at all?
Think of your front-axle as an 'alignment tool'... Slide it through 1 fork leg, align the wheel so the axle goes through, then align the other fork leg so the axle finishes it's way through there too..
[Just make sure the triple tree clamps are loose enough to allow for some sliding/twisting]
@@DirtyDovi ahh. Very smart approach. Thanks.
@@IslandADV You betcha! 😊👍
Good video. Too bad Yamaha took away the fork drains . Old models lost kick start and fork drains when we got disc brake.
Did you make an update video on these? Didnt see one in your list but maybe i missed it
Excellent video! Very informative ; this might be my next mod!
PS: What front tire is that??? 😳 looks sick!
I believe that was the shinko 700 I had but I'm not to sure

I did the heaviest I could get and I really like it
Whats the part number or spring dimensions?
You just got springs and oil only?! I might go ahead and upgrade myself
It's pretty easy surprisingly
which way do the springs go. tight end at the bottom or top
The orientation doesn't really matter as long as you take that stock spacer out really.
Im 6'2" and weigh 250 lbs (310 six months ago).
Which weight would you recommend?
How about springs.
Thanks! 👍
Probably heavier fork oil for sure with stiffer springs . I went with the stiffest option even though that sounds wrong lol
@@dualdorks
LOL!
TW looks strange without front forks
Damn if this isn’t the most painful thing to watch. Anything for a UA-cam video, right?
