Diane, you really are so inspirational for me! I wonder if you know that you are that for so many people!? Ever since you said that you left England because you disagreed with Brexit (I think) Actually it’s not what you stood up for that inspires me, but that you did stand up for what you believe in! I grew up afraid of my shadow (for lots of reasons)but now that I am older I can stand up for what I believe in even if it makes me a hate target sometimes. Sometimes it is just a relief to play with the beautiful colors! Thank you!! 💕

I have ordered the gold pen and am looking forward to using it. Thank you for sharing your skills.
Way to go! This was grand fun to watch. Kept wanting you to add something to one area and then you did! What a great video to get me motivated. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your creativity. I have been concentrating so hard on becoming a better artist that I have forgotten how much fun it is just to cut loose and paint for the love of it. The whole goal in the beginning. I love this set of paints. They were my first complete set of watercolors and you have opened my eyes to new ideas.
Wow, this was lovely to watch come together! So relaxing and totally the kind of art I can imagine myself making. I’m so glad I found your channel Dianne. Love your tutorials. Your voice is so soothing and relaxing and it’s lovely to listen to your history of living in various countries. Thanks so much for sharing your creativity. Lots of love from Bonnie Scotland 👋🏴❤️❤️❤️xxx
Thank you so much Ann! So glad you enjoy the videos and my mental meanderings! I have fond memories of Scotland, specifically the Isle of Arran and Findhorn - regretfully we don't get up there now we live in France. Hope you enjoy making the painting yours, it was fun to do!
Loving the series with these colours sorry you have asthma must be awful not being able to catch a breath , I was 10 when they found out I needed glasses I could find anything on the floor but I used to feel for it I think you wonderful sharing your thoughts with us be careful with the hot weather xx
We have two golden retrievers and a little French mongrel. They chase each other along the fence line. We haven't quite got the two boys to be together yet, you know what boy dogs are like!
Diane This was not my favorite….but I tried the dark colors and doodle around and found which colors I preferred. It was a lot of fun, but I can’t stop painting butterflies. 🦋 thanks
This is beautiful will defiantly be giving it a go, talking about the grass I live in Australia in the tropical state and in the summer the grass is always brown and like straw🤣 you get use to it, but it's really lovely to see it when we get lots of rain and it gets green
Do you find the grass lives through the drought? We have lots of bare patches where it is worn through to the soil and I'm concerned that it isn't going to come back when it rains. It still hasn't started raining. It's unheard of here. Glad you like the painting, and I hope you enjoy doing it!
Perfect exercise for relaxing and at the same time, great art. I love to see you painting and I love to hear you chat. Thanks for sharing your wonderful skills 🙏🙏
Oh wow, I have watched this video several times already and finally bought the Kuretake paints! They sound different enough from regular watercolors to give a different and fun experience plus I went to the art store yesterday and spent about $20 US for 2 tubes of paint!! I think that even if there’s not tons of paint in each pan, the Kuretake will give a taste of many different colors and the fact that they are more opaque than I am used to should be fun!!
Yes, each pan has only a thin layer of paint but it is very powerfully pigmented so should last a while. I think they can be used in many different ways x
Diane, I love this unique painting. It really welcomes in our approaching autumn season. As always it's so entertaining watching you create from beginning to end, listening to your thought process, and learning from you on how to go with the flow. The colors could not be prettier and the gold, bronze, and white embellishments really add a spark. Thank you for introducing me to the Kuretake Gansai Tambi, I didn't want to wait until Christmas to buy these for myself, so I purchased them last week :) I've had the best time painting with these. If I had to select one set of paint that I call my favorite, it would be these. The colors are so easy to use and are quite rich. I'd love to see you do a tutorial with these paints on black watercolor paper. I might give it a go myself, but your artistic brain is well ahead of mine. Wishing you and all of your followers a happy day!
Watching now and had to comment on what you just said. The power of a matt/frame for a painting! I had recently scored 4 very inexpensive frames with matt & glass, and hauled out my paintings to see if there were any worthy of a frame. Imagine my surprise to find that a few of them didn't look half-bad at all! haha! I already count on a hit of metallic gold to help them out. Thanks so much for your work Diane; you're very much appreciated.
Thanks Griffin, I appreciate your feedback. It is endlessly amazing what a difference a frame makes. Someone told me it's because it focuses you in on the picture and cuts out the periphery, so I suppose that's how it works!
This will be a nice and relaxing project for my Saturday morning. Thank you Diane 😊 enjoy your weekend. Hope we don't get another heat wave, my kitty is miserable in the hot weather.
What kind of metallic pens are you using? Do the come from a stationery store or art supply store? I LOVE, LOVE and admire your patience and adventurous spirit! Must give this a try…never seen it before
Hello Diane, wondering what your rules are as far as using your designs on any item, which if it turns out well, I may wish to sell. I have seen other artists agree to sales providing work shows "original artwork by .....". Your work is just amazing, thank you for your instructions. Best regards Cate
Hi Cate, thanks for your message and I appreciate you asking this question. I am delighted with you using one of my designs as a jumping off point for your own interpretation with a view to selling the result. You don't need to give me credit for it. I prefer you to make the work your own. All of us are inspired by other people's work, that's how art works, isn't it! So please go ahead!! Good luck xxx
@@DianeAntoneStudio thank you so much for your lovely reply. I am looking forward to trying one of the designs and giving it "my" touch even though I'm not sure what that is at the moment. 😀
P.S. Those paints look really fun (I love the colors that you used!) but is it really watercolor or is it gouache or some kind of hybrid?? I think that a hybrid would actually be nice! Good price for all those colors but is there enough quantity of each color? That is such a beautiful picture! Great for your JJ too, if you are still doing that!! Great work!!
Yes, I'll photocopy it for the JJ, it'll look good somewhat muted by my less than perfect printer! Yes, the paints are slightly more opaque than the top quality watercolors like Sennelier, Schmincke, Winsor and Newton and Daniel Smith, perhaps. But they are easier to use - I find they give smoother washes with fewer back-runs, and they are great for building up paintings in an opaque layered way. I've done today a layered leaf painting in transparent watercolor and it came out quite different, and doesn't tempt me to embellish at all. There is quite a lot of paint in the pans, and honestly I do think they are fairly priced for what you get. You can buy replacement pans individually for colors you use up as well. I have been heavy on the Cadmium Orange and it is wearing thin!
Ya and they all prob thought you were stuck up for not saying hi 😂 I used to have severe social anxiety and people thought I was stuck up, they just didn’t know I was scared of people…lol ah well. Painting ended up very pretty tho. I was able to find those white pens with Japanese writing on them on Amazon. I had heard that too so I went looking for them. They are same brand but I think they ship directly from Japan. I used the U.S. amazon
Hi Susan! Yes I had that problem of people thinking I was stuck up. Thing was I was shy, and I also couldn’t recognise people (I have a very poor facial recognition system - I’m always saying to my daughter is that so-and-so? And I really ought to know whether or not it is!) so what with not recognising people, and also being shy I think I ended up with a fairly serious case of social anxiety, except we didn’t call it that in those days, we just called each other snobs! Oh well! That was then and this is now! So glad you’re enjoying the videos! I am going to see if I can hunt down those pens too!
@@DianeAntoneStudio They sure didn’t recognize it. I am close to your age, 65, and there was no awareness or even verbiage for it back then. I was shy too, I used to hide behind my mother when people would come over. But we had an abusive father and after my mom died when we’re were all young his abusive behavior got out of control. And it got centered on to me because I was the oldest. He would feed on humiliating me in front of other people. I never had the space to understand social skills or even learn about myself. I came out of there traumatized and had severe ptsd and anxiety. It was many years passed before I heard someone name it, I was around 40, when laying there in front of the tv I was watching a special on pbs that happened to come on talking about social anxiety. I was just a shy child. But by the time he was done I had full blown debilitating trauma. I didn’t understand social cues or how to read people as a young adult or even how to be around them. People used to think I was weird. I thought I was weird. Both you and I had invisible disabilities that no one could see. My father was very outgoing. I was introverted and shy. He didn’t understand me and didn’t like me either. But that’s ok. I grew to hate his guts as well 😂
That's so interesting and I'm so sorry for what you went through Susan. Surprisingly similar to my own story. I think partly because I was short sighted I also had no clue about social cues (and I still can't read people) I always said the wrong thing, didn't smile enough, didn't enjoy socialising... My father was a difficult man too, and my mother died when I was young too. I was 17 and it was a great shock. My father remarried quickly after my mum died and the new wife hated me - she drove a wedge between me and my father - I had no-one to turn to so I married very young to the first person who would have me and tried to make his family my family. It didn't work out well. After several health-related close brushes with death I was left with what they now call PTSD (unless they've changed the name recently!) and multiple allergies and immune problems as well as an abusive husband. BUT I have my daughter, the channel, and people like you to talk to so it could be much much worse. We are both survivors, you and I. I am so grateful for the art and for you and the other 60 thousand subscribers!!
@@DianeAntoneStudio Yes the same thing happened to me and my two sisters! He married two bad women who didn’t want us in the home! I was 8 when my mom died and my sisters where 1 and 2. Yes it was tragic… my mom was 7 months pregnant with another girl. Both her and the baby died, she had cancer. And yes.. I’ve never been married 🫣 but every relationship I’ve been in has been abusive so now I’ve gone thru menopause and feel like I’ve been set free 😂 no more men. And as you’d say… oh well, nevermind. Let’s paint…lol
Yes, painting is the great healer. I was interested to see Ian Welch the Healer on your list of subscriptions - is he someone you know? He sounds interesting indeed!

You are so welcome! So glad you are finding ways to use the Kuretake paints. They are so liberating!
Wow, this was lovely to watch come together! So relaxing and totally the kind of art I can imagine myself making.
I’m so glad I found your channel Dianne. Love your tutorials. Your voice is so soothing and relaxing and it’s lovely to
listen to your history of living in various countries.
Thanks so much for your kind comments. Take care xx
I can't wait to try this. It looks awesome!

Thanks Glorimar, I know you're going to make great art with them!
Bold, striking and stunning! Cats at play are always fun..dogs are playing too? Lol. Love the lesson Diane..as always.❤️
We have two golden retrievers and a little French mongrel. They chase each other along the fence line. We haven't quite got the two boys to be together yet, you know what boy dogs are like!
Oh wow, Diane, that looks absolutely fabulous!! Can't wait to give this a go! Thank you so much - love your tutorials xxx ❤️
Thanks so much Debbie! Hope you enjoy making it your own!
Very very pretty.
Thank you! 😊
Doesn't this look glorious! I need those pens! I shall give it a go. Thank you Diane 😊
your so kind for the sketches ty !!! thank you for being my water colour teacher !!!
You aren’t even completed yet and I am LOVING your lovely creation! 💗💗💗💗
Thank you Laurie so much!
Just lovely ♥️!
@@DianeAntoneStudio yes it usually only takes done rain and it's back to green so I shouldn't worry too much
Love this! Amazing, the lady from England down the road.
Your channel is fascinating. I just love ALL your videos. ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks so much !
Perfect exercise for relaxing and at the same time, great art. I love to see you painting and I love to hear you chat. Thanks for sharing your wonderful skills 🙏🙏
Thank you so much 😀
Love this design it reminds me of sumptuous Indian silks or brocade. Absolutely gorgeous Diane xx
Thanks Rita, that's what I was going for, those Starry colors are very helpful!
Merci beaucoup !
Diane, that is absolutely beautiful! It would make such a lovely fabric for draperies or upholstery!
Thanks Mimi, I'm thinking of getting it printed on to a piece of fabric to make a cushion!
Wonderful and so cool to see you transform the "mistake" into a beautiful part of the whole! Thank you as always!
Thanks Penny! In the end I liked the two mistake blobs the best, so it really does pay to keep going!
I'm so excited to practice this. So pretty. Thank you for sharing your art!
You are so welcome Debbie, and I hope you enjoy making it yours!
This is beautiful art work! It reminds me a little of Jacobean style fabric designs- the intricate details within the leaves.
Yes, you're right, it's a style I want to do more of!
Black paper coming soon and I'm using a colored background for the next few too!
@@DianeAntoneStudio Fantastic! I love how you keep us on our toes.
Beautiful!
Love this video and the colors you used.
I will certainly buy them.
I enjoyed watching you paint and embellish the leaves. They turned out so pretty. I will have to give it a try.
Do give it a try Debbie, it's really easy and rewarding!
Your artwork is so much fun! Thank you!
THanks Linda, much appreciated!
Thank you for sharing your talents! I enjoyed your painting session tremendously!
This will be a nice and relaxing project for my Saturday morning. Thank you Diane 😊 enjoy your weekend. Hope we don't get another heat wave, my kitty is miserable in the hot weather.
I hope so too! Ours don't like it either, it puts them off their food! Hope you had a good time painting yesterday!
Love your creativity...the picture is fascinating!💜💜💜
Thanks Joy!
Thank you for sharing this. It's very helpful and inspiring! ❤
You are so welcome!
Wow! Beautiful! Thank you.
This is wonderful..will be enjoyable to paint🙂🇨🇦
Yes, it is! Have fun Linda!
Love them. Can't wait to find a way to use this idea.
Have fun! Do you have a junk journal? Or they would be good as cards and bookmarks too!
Loved it. I bought some and will try something like it!
Great Connie, you'll enjoy it I think!
Love it 🥰. I will try this when I receive my new Graphite color Kuretake set I ordered. Looking forward to this.
Those colors are very useful for shadowing effects.
What kind of metallic pens are you using? Do the come from a stationery store or art supply store?
I LOVE, LOVE and admire your patience and adventurous spirit! Must give this a try…never seen it before
Thanks! I get them from Amazon - here’s a link: Uniball Signo Gel Pens amzn.to/3NPTqJd and Uniball Signo broad white pen amzn.to/3QcfUph.
Begonia leaves are trippy, some have polka dots that are pink shimmer or silver shimmer.
That's true, I must paint them!
@@DianeAntoneStudio yes, and now that I have them I was so pleasantly surprised by how easily they wet!!💕
Can u tell me what pens you use... and that huge paint set. Thanks I am going to try this... I did a little village ... actually 3 of them.. 1 is haunted. I'll share it..
