Centam Guardian, English version

In 2024, CNE led the CENTAM Guardian exercise which included one week of theory and another one of practice. The scenario was an earthquake which epicenter was in the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM) that would affect 2,4 million inhabitants.
The Emergencies Operations Center and all the institutions of the National Risk Management System were activated. Multiple scenarios such as collapsed structures and handling hazardous materials were simulated to strengthen the response of the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) group.
Costa Rican Social Security Board (CCSS) Emergency Medical Teams were deployed in coordination with other countries.
