C’mon now, they were acting like typical teenagers being interested in Beverly Hills and movie stars and basically jealous Brenda got to go there. And Brenda again with her high and mighty behavior acting like a true spoiled Beverly Hills kid.
“My boyfriend drives a Porsche and friends drive beemers” is a line every teenager would brag about and that’s what she’s doing here. It’s perfectly normal they would have questions like that, after a while they would stop as the topic would become boring. But hey this is a show…and they had to make BH kids look awesome.
Actually that is quite realistic, if you go away for even a year from an isolated place people can treat you very different.

I don’t blame Brenda at all.. I’m from LA and when I was younger in jr High actually .. I move to Boise Idaho for a year.. kids either liked me cause I’m from Los Angeles or hate me .. I also was asked if I met Tom Cruise lol … this was 1999 compare to 1993/94.. so I felt bad for Brenda .. her Minnesota friends looked snobby and 90s preppy .. Brenda was so pretty and 90s stylish .. I’m glad she went back to LA…
With friends like Minnesota Darla and Beverly Hills Kelly is the reason I prefer to not have any friends. Darla is a stuck up snob and Kelly did what friends should not do.’

@@gbear2253 i had a facebook "friend" like those two all rolled into one nutcase. She ended up stalking me for years. So, yes, much much better not to have any friends than friends like those. Brenda is so straightforward and tells it like she sees it. Of course they thought she was bitchy - she was the only one with the guts to be honest and true to herself. Get better soon Shannen.

I wished they had a some episodes of Brenda attending at least one year of college in Minnesota
It would have been great. Unfortunately it was unthinkable for a production team at the time to separate a teen gang, and they used to keep all the kids together at the same spot, even if it meant screwing some of the plotlines. That's why they didn't send Andrea to Yale, for example. In today's TV shows however, it wouldn't be a problem at all to have one of the kids being in an other school for a whole season or more.
It actually was the original plan to have Brenda attending college at Minnesota in the 4th season. It was a way to essentially write Shannen out of the show while still keeping her on the series. They were basically going to have her just phone home once a week or so. This way, she was completely isolated from the rest of the cast. however, she was actually getting along with the cast while filming the first couple episodes of season four, so they chose to bring her back to Beverly Hills and reintegrate her into the show. That quickly fell apart, which is why they came up the Stewart storyline; another way to isolate her from all of the main cast except Brandon. Of course, we all know what happened at the end of the season…

When Brenda left Minnesota to go back to Beverly Hill I could totally understand why.
She realized she wasn’t a Midwest girl anymore and that the girls there hated her. So she went back.

They did a good job casting Darla aka Flyover state Kelly. Brenda comes across uptight and obnoxious here, but we can still side with her since Darla is already giving off major snake-bitch vibes.

Ok, so I have always been team Brenda and always will! but I found in this episode she was rude and short with her kid cousin and her Minnesota friends! FFS, they have NOT seen her in ages and it's natural they would ask questions about California, which mind you, they make it sound like its the centre of the Universe lol. I think Brenda should have been a lil more understanding despite her moving to Minnesota and getting acclimated.
They took it too far though and should’ve seen she didn’t want to talk about it and should’ve backed off. They kept pushing though and they felt her wrath. The entire reason she went back was too experience her old life. I completely see Brenda’s pov here. Later in the blonde calls her a stuck up bit ch too. How is she stuck up? She wants to be seen as normal she’s not pushing to be special.

They literally asked her three questions and she jumped down their throats. Asking what car someone drives is being treated like an outsider. She chose to go to University of Minnesota so she could be ms California. Always hated Brenda.
People get excited to learn about people, places and things that they aren’t exposed to. There was nothing wrong with them asking questions. The questions needed fine tuning but that was it.
Brenda overreacted. I used to like her. She believes that people should like her on her own, but she immediately became rude. "Silly questions". She has too much ego.
I have heard the writers started incorporating more of Shannen Doherty’s actual personality into the Brenda character to the point where they were just writing Shannen. I remember watching her wedding reality show years ago, and she acted a lot like she does here.
I don’t think she overreacted at all. She clearly didn’t want to talk about it and they kept pushing.
Everybody's ranting at the Minnesota girls, but come on, guys ! If we had an old friend coming back after 3 years in Beverly Hills, we would have acted just like those girls ! I love Brenda but she was a little unfair with them.
Brenda embodied a certain 90s elevated chic style that was a classic for the modern era of pop culture and the vibe of this classic miasma of creativity was the opposite of Dylan’s shamanistic extrapolations of vice. This is pure queer coding in a very didactic and ritualistic shcema.
