Spinnaker Tesei Review - A Beauty in Bronze | Armand The Watch Guy

- In today's video, I would like to discuss the Spinnaker Tesei, a new and very vintage inspired 300m bronze dive watch. With a ceramic bezel, multi-layered dial, and Sellita movement it also represents exceptional value. The watch will be released for pre-order on the 25th of October.

I've just got my one today feels like a watch over double the price I'm very impressed
Thanks again for this in depth review. I was a commercial diver for 20 years and I must say that if I was in the market (as a commercial diver), I would never have chosen a watch with an exhibition case back. It's a tool after all. However, truth be told, I've never been too keen on exhibition case backs, be it divers, dress or other.
This watch is stunning and definitely a step up from other Spinnaker watches made so far.
It will definitely be staying in my collection despite the hefty size.
I love your detailed review with a lot of general history.
My review is going online on Wednesday and it will be full of macro shots as this watch really deserves it!!
Congrats to Spinnaker for making a well rounded package. I do hope this becomes successful enough for them to make a smaller 40mm version as that would make it PERFECT
Make it 38 mm and I’m with you.
I bought my first Spinnaker Croft 5058-04 I discovered in your reviews. It is now my favorite watch in my collection. It is a rich looking watch and well built.
Nice watch perfect size also. Spinnaker is beginning to grow on me. Thanks for the review .
it looks they take very good specs
Armand you are my favorite channel, no thanks to reviews like this one! Stay away from this type of "reviews" and maintain quality of great content you usually provide!
Nice watch. A little big for me. I would like it a lot at 40 mm. They could surround the date window in lume. Good vid. Keep at it!
As ever, Armand, that is a greatly appreciated, excellent review.
I love the legibility of the dial and the colours of dial, case and strap are so harmonious.
The overall large size is, for me, simply off-putting. However, I am sure it will be great, indeed appropriate, for a real human diver!
Better wave dial than new seamaster
Haha exactly what I thought about it and mention it in my review 😄
Not really a lover of this particular piece, but I do think Spinnaker are an interesting brand. I looked into them last year and purchased one of their watches. The problem I had at the time was trying to find out information was next to impossible.
Very good review.
For only a little more money you can get a Davosa Argonautic Bronze LE. A proper Swiss watch brand with actual heritage, Sw200, sapphire, ceramic, super luminova, some lovely design features and a choice of two colours.
People complaining about its size forget that a dive watch was exactly that ...a Divers watch..that's why they are generally large..and not meant for the bright young things to wear in the office..I love the bronze and how the piece will evolve with wear..it's a step up in price and quality from the brand but the date is irrelevant and detracts from its original use.. For me it's just another homage concoction of Rolex Tudor and Omega..
Hi, and thank you for the review, how would you compare this brand with Obris Morgan and as a side note how would you compare this movement with the nh35 by Seiko? Thanks again.
I cant rotate the bezel after few days swiming in the adriatic sea..
what I should do?
Too large and too thick ... Otherwise really nice. At 40mm X 13mm (or thinner), I would have bought it.
Let me begin by saying that I enjoy and greatly respect your reviews. However, in this case that watch just looks too big on you. I would add that I believe people should wear what they like. I definitely don't condone the self appointed watch police who try to dictate style. As for bronze, not to my taste. I will reiterate, if it is what one likes, then make the purchase. To hell with the watch police.
It's very nice looking watch but why that price? The Orient Triton has very similar specs but boasts their higher end in-house movement and only costs about £350.
Does bronze really more than double the cost of a watch?
Which color scheme was this particular sample you have?
I am sure someone will pay $850 for this Chinese company's "Swiss made" watch, but it certainly will not be me.
Also, I am a little irritated by the fact that I own their Bradner and I am on their mailing list, but apparently they didn't want me to know about this one - I hadn't received any "heads up" from them.
And I find their teasing price games childish and annoying. Typical young Chinese company behavior... maybe appealing to millenials?
Thank you for your review (all your reviews, in fact), but I am a little confused by your admiration of design of this watch. To me, it looks a little boring - one more repetition of many many very similar Submariner interpretations.
I am sure you will get it on the 18th as the sign up starts then
Take a breathe... it’s a review. Not a replacement of any other brands to choose from.

What is the minimum size of wrist for this watch ? I have 16.5 cm on my wrist. Thanks
A very reasonably priced bronze diver, even at post release. And, as always, a very in “depth” review! Pun obviously intended.
What was that lovely music at the intro of the video?
Am I wrong...It just seems like a sub $500 watch...@ $395 used I am in...which I believe you will get it easily in a couple of years...
Very nice!
Why do so many microbrands / lowtier watches think they need an open caseback? If the movement is cheap its just plain hideous. And if you want to make a diver you should not add such an unnecessary weakness to the waterproof case,
I disagree with the first point: I personally love to look at the movement even on my cheap Seiko with the 7S26 movement inside. It doesnt have to be decorated for you to enjoy it. Plus its nice to show people who dont know about mechanical watches. On the second point i do agree: a serious diver shouldnt have an open caseback. But its not a problem in the 10atm "divers" in my opinion.
They put an open case back because they know true watch enthusiasts love you see the movement. It really doesn't matter what movement it is... unless you're a SNOB, which I suppose you are.
You dont have any authority to determine what a true watch enthusiast loves to see. Tastes differ dont be ridiculous and rude for that matter. Im a collector/enthusiast of many years and unless the movement is decorated to a certain standard you are looking at plain metal which looks terrible next to a polished case and nicely finished dial. I know how a movement works there is no mystery or beauty in watching an aluminium plate turn circles.
@@MrShinobi797 bro the cognitive dissonance is apparent. Only a snob would say this or that is an action of a "true" watch enthusiast... Look in the mirror
@@pilotstyle123 - The intention was not to come across as Rude, Sir. But when you call the Watch Movement “ HIDEOUS " ... jus because it's inexpensive & undecorated, suggests Snobbery IMO . ( Who are YOU to call it hideous?? ) Believe me... I'm no Authority, but the mere fact that a couple other viewers also disagreed with your initial comment, suggests a bit of truth in what initially commented .
Nice patina!!
I would love a bronze watch like this, but they all seem to be huge. Make them 40mm or less and I will be interested. Until then, adios amigo.
Armand - it's not often that I disagree with you but this is one of those times. I really don't see the attraction of this particular watch. If you want a microbrand bronze diver, the Zelos Helmsman 2 is cheaper and far better looking with similar specs.
Armand, why so positive about poor brands. There is not a single person with an understanding of watches will throw away his money with this watch
One of the nicer Rolex imitations I’ve seen. Beats most of the stuff Invicta makes, I guess.
Very nice, but looks too hefty for me.
Great material for a statue; not so much wrist candy. Price for similar I got a cosc same mvmt in steel Swiss made too; new!
i wil take two please
Even 14mm is too high for me. Not keen on Bronze either, like my watches without 'patina' or as I call it corrosion! So not one for me.
Whoa, $850? I'm out.

Good resell on ebay should get around 300 haha
Its too bad it's 43mm, instead of 38mm-40mm. I certainly would have gone for it if it had been a more conservative size, especially since it is a vintage look; it should have a vintage size.
Too large! Too think! Too expensive! You can get better watch for the bucks. I'd choose f. e. a Davosa over this one any Day.
i have one not worth the money
nice looking watch but for that money i'll stick with my oris divers
The price is way too high for a Spinnaker! For that price range there are way better choices! Everything about it is too big IMO (price, size, etc.)!
It is a chinese watch and to expensive.
