  • Ask any of today's economists to name their top 10 thinkers and it's hard to believe David Ricardo won't appear in most cases.
This video analyzes the life of David Ricardo (anything from his activity to the legacy he left behind after his death) and his economic philosophy as well as economic theories.
The work of David Ricardo has influenced many generations of economists and while he did end up being proven wrong by reality in certain cases, we need to understand that his role in the world of economic debate is extremely significant.
Whether you agree with David Ricardo or not, there's no denying that without him, today's economic debate landscape would look remarkably different and for that reason (and many more), he deserves the gratitude of all 21st century economists.
Through carefully-chosen economic theory examples, it will become clear what David Ricardo was all about and what he left behind... economic history at its finest!

Sure thing! I'll make three recommendations for the time being. After reading them, get back to me with your thoughts and I'll make some more based on that. If you haven't by now, read Benjamin Graham's "The Intelligent Investor" for timeless mindset advice. Read some Gary Vaynerchuk for empathetic hustle-oriented business wisdom, Nassim Taleb's "Skin in the Game" for a decent explanation of the important distinction between book smarts and street smarts. This combo may seem peculiar but I'm even more interested in what you do *after* the MBA... for what it's worth, I'm a very "weird" economist, as in I'm also an entrepreneur and investor (always did my best to aim for the right balance between book smarts and street smarts) :)

@@OneMinuteEconomics Thanks for the recommendations. I'm currently reading "the intelligent investor". After MBA, I intend to work in the field of marketing. I like finance as well, but mainly personal finance, to grow wealth. BTW, i have been following your channel for more than a year and i love your content.
