Now, this commentary was based off the information I heard at the time of filming the video. Some more things have been spoken about since, for instance, Full Circle has talked about working on a potential storyline for the game. Obviously having the OG dev team is a MAJOR plus because clearly they haven't disappointed in the past with the previous skate titles. I am however still nervous about EA saying they are making changes to better fit their "vision" of the game... So take everything I said in here with a grain of salt as majority of the offline skate mode talk so far is speculation and these things are not subject to change before the initial release of early access let alone the final version of the game.
not a fan of live service games especially when it doesnt need to be like what do you mean on black ops6 zombies NEEDS an internet connection why am i lagging playing fucking SOLO??
going to get a lot of hate for this but I dont care. No career/story mode Always Online They say there will be no p2w mechanics but thats a flat out lie, and you'll see exactly what I mean when more people are able to play it WITHOUT being entered into a fucking lottery system to test their "Pre-pre Alpha build" This game was announced 5 years ago and they have a VERY BAREBONES un-textured game AT BEST. This is what the community gets after nearly 5 years in development (More if you consider the fact that they were working on it before it was announced) and it's going to be a dumpster fire compared to previous titles that were developed and fully released within a year, yes.... A YEAR. Now I know what youre going to say "Well they had to build this game from the ground up!" NO the fuck they didnt lmfao, and anyone who spends two seconds of research into game development will net you a result you wont like. They spent 4-5 years hyping up a game, only to post videos and pictures of unfinished slop and did nothing but ask questions about "WHAT BRANDS DO YOU WANT TO SEE IN SKATE?" not questions like "What type of pro skaters would you like to see make an appearance?" or "any legendary spots you guys would like seen referenced in the map?" Nope. Nothing of that natures concerns them because they are worried more about selling you the "SUPER COOL VANS/NIKE SB/KARUMA SHOE PACK" instead of making a skate game that the community knows and loves. I'm not saying that you wont have fun in the game, im just saying dont get your hopes up and believe a single fucking word these people say about how amazing it is and how much it feels like the traditional skate title. IT DOESNT. It's FAR more arcade-y, literally closer to THPS games than Skate from what I remember. Graphics aside, the animations look like trash. It's a money grab and anyone with half a brain can see it from miles away. There is no soul in this project and you will soon see! Thank you for the video.
Well said comment man! I appreciate the time you took to watch the video and give your input. I hate hearing that you think it will be more arcade style like THPS, I'm honestly not a big fan of the THPS series. I love the feel of Skate 3 and am horrified that the things you've mentioned will come to fruition in this new title. I'm just glad it's not an Ubisoft title because holy shit would that make things EVEN WORSE haha... I really hope they decide to listen to the community and make changes where they are due, even if that means a potential delay on release. But, like you said, can't get our hopes up too high about anything at this point.
@@GrindGaming After many years of game testing I can assure you when it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck... You know the rest. I also hope they see the light and comment on the creeping issues the community has, but will not be surprised when they do not, and release the game in an unfinished, cash-grab clusterfuck.
Been trying to get in the early access for years now. Hearing it’ll have a “phone game economy” w micro transactions and such is a bummer I’ll just play session
I mean nobody knows FOR SURE about the micro transactions and everything like that but from what I've seen EA do lately and just the gaming world in general recently, it's not looking good for how Skate 4 is going to turn out... We can only hope for the best
@ free to play def equals some sort of paid content it’s just to what extent are they gonna make it. Hopefully just cosmetics and new map packs no actual gameplay barriers
I was invited to the alpha play test. I don’t remember what I’m allowed to say or not say but I am pretty sure I can say the following: Don’t be nervous. the game in its current form is fucking sick. The map section available is amazing. Exceeds all expectations. The physics are pretty close to perfect. The social aspect is way more fun than I thought it could be. Just skating random hits with a few people that congregated in an area is a blast. Having some passing by throw up a wave when you land something is a pretty cool feeling. Most important: the game is fun. It’s the perfect pick up the sticks and goof around game. If you liked the “post game” of skate you will love the new game.
This definitely makes me feel a little bit better about it! Thanks for your input homie, I do still wish we could get a physical copy of the game somehow just for collecting purposes but as long as the gameplay is sweet, can't complain much
OG gamer here. I feel so bad for you Zoomers and Gen Alpha. There really is something to owning the physical CD of your game. Counter-Strike2 is a great example. The hacking is so bad it's unplayable now. I only play 1 game a day because I get put into a normal under 5K lobby and drop 20-30 kills. Next game? I somehow go 4-13 like how the fuck? The micro-transactions, same bullshit different system. They probably want less people to play their game, because the data DOES show if someone likes the game they'll drop cash on it significantly more than if they just sell a copy of the game.
Have fun buying Skateboards/tricks/Backdrops/Trucks/Wheels/Textures/Achievements with real money! OH and dont forget the RMT thats going to go on making it Pay 2 Win.
can't wait for this game. and the no offline. and no disk that sucks. hope that do a disk version down the road. with and story for 50$. I will get a copy
I'm still loving Session, I hope they keep updating that game then I'm all good. I like the realism, Skate looks cartoony with bad physics, animation based... pfft.. glad it's free to play so I can try it and uninstall it the next day.
@@GrindGaming i also played it. game is really fun, physics are great, there are a lot of new tricks and mechanics i always missed and it feels like a skate game. but it is live service, no story... this destroys every good thing the game has. ive been waiting years for a skate 4, not this
The game seems to be missing fine detail graphically. Everything looks..cookie cutter and monotone. sorry to the devs who may have worked countless hours on it or even if thats the final product but i mean, cmon. No excuse with modern hardware. Sessions looks wayyyy nicer and it was made independantly. We love skate regardless and we appreciate the work but it looks like a switch game!
Yeah I'm assuming that may just be like the early graphical gameplay and maybe we'll see some newer playtest gameplay soon where it looks more advanced... I'm hoping to see it look a bit more grungy as per the previous Skate titles have that "punk-ish" style look to the games. We shall see tho
@ i know its not complete yet. But i fear the textures arent going to be as grindy as the other skate titles. I think its going to feel like skater xl graphics wise. Rly hope not. But if its rly gonna be a free to play micro transaction mess im not buying it, Will not support that game if so. Ppl love your skate videos so i hope the game is good so you can pull in some traction and satisfy viewers.
I feel that, it does remind me of skater xl / riders republic, like too bright compared to the others... The main think I hope for is the same feel to the gameplay at least

Exactly man! Also my gripe with live service games is most of the DLC that comes out to make the game better end up obsolete years down the road
going to get a lot of hate for this but I dont care.

I'm truly truly hoping that's not the case but idk man it's not looking great as of right now
It was either this or never have another skate. EA wouldn’t have green lit another traditional skate game.

Physical copies? What about all the people who play on pc because we don’t want garbage graphics? Can’t put a disc into my pc 😂😂😂
Obviously have digital as an option, absolutely, just would like to have a physical option also
