On most 'octave up" pedals the octave effect mostly works towards the 12th fret and beyond and using the neck pickup. It hardly responds on the bridge pickup. Hope this helps.
sold. And thank you for a demo where you don't spend 15/16ths of the demo talking. Those demos always make me feel like James Bond when the villain has him captive and stands there gloating.
Thank you very much. I’m glad to read that. I’m terrible talking to cameras, and I appreciate non talking sound demos too, so I did that way and I hope to do more on that method.
Just bought this based on your video. Was looking for a classic fuzz tone with an on/off for the octave. Can't believe with all the crazy stuff out there I found it at this price. Thanks!
Update: Got the pedal from Reverb (All4Music iirc). It arrived non-functioning. Major hassle with the seller not responding to messages. Had to get Reverb involved twice, return the item and finally got Reverb to complete the refund. Might try to order it directly from China...
Sounds better than most of the $200+ “boutique” Fuzz Face and OctoFuzz clones I’ve been looking at…for a fraction of the admission price. I think you just sold another one for them.
No octave at all? The octave is there. Same as an Octavia or univox superfuzz etc. the octave is what's referred to as a slight octave. It's not like a octave up pitch effect. More of an upper harmonic that breaks it up in that strained amp about to blow way. Single notes is one thing but try to play chords with three or four notes or more and you will notice it won't work on everything with the octave on. You will get an almost ring modulator clang. The more notes you play at once or the more complex the chord is the worse it gets. Good demo just wanted to clear up what octave means in this context. It seems everyone gets confused about what's going on here when they don't hear a full 12 semitone octave jump in above the original note.
Comparing It to pedals like Fulltone Ultimate Octave, Voodoo Lab, Proctavia Catalinbread Octapussy, It has no octave at all. I have a Digtech Whammy and I know the diference from the it's octave effect for the "fuzz octave effect". Like I said on the vídeo all these chinese foxx tone machine/Ultimate Octave clones have the cap issue, that makes the Octave effect less promiment or abscent (IMHO). I tryed it with single coils, on the bridge pup, in the 12th fret and I did not feel the Octave like Hendrix got on Purple Haze. But I loved the pedal the way It sounds. But it's nice to know How It Works on the perspective from your comment. Thank you
@@1989guitarplayer I agree with the comparison to those other pedals. They may just have the octave dialed in more dominant in the circuit. As for comparing any fuzz or octave fuzz pedal to Hendrix you must always keep in mind he wasn't plugging into a clean amp. Going through a cranked wall of Marshalls with the channels jumped from amp to amp will make everything different and will definitely bring out all those upper harmonics of an octave fuzz. Try it into a slightly dirty rig or with a mild overdrive/boost after it to simulate a cranked tube amp and the octave will really pop and stand out. I have several octave fuzzes and that's how I do it no matter which one I use. It really makes them shine. I think you will love it.
@@tailnotale Just did it. Indeed, there's no octave like the classic pedals do. The octave mode on the pedal makes it sound like a Fuzzrite, which I like, fortunately

Dinger Bell I really believe this pedal is based on the Fulltone Ultimate Octave fuzz. It even has the mid cut/normal toggle too. If you hear some demos, you’re gonna hear the diference from the sounds on octave mode. I believe the problem is the inverted capacitors or the cheap components. Maybe one day I’ll try some mods, than I will make another video
Holy. I was just about to order the Caline Candy Floss, and somehow came upon this. Starting me out with some GCJr. was a good hook..... And it has Octave, too? For $29? I'm going to have to try them both, i guess. This one isn't quite as ugly as the Candy Floss. Even though i hate green, that Candy Floss graphic looks like it was done as _revenge._
Great to read that buddy. The pedal is great for the money (really great). Sounds great and is versatile. One year passed since I bought it and can’t imagine me selling it!

Hi Marco. Remove the caps described on the video (which I don’t remember anymore 😅), reverse them, than you have a better octave fuzz sound. Never did It, cause I like the way it sounds, but I know the mod improves it on the Joyo version, which has the same circuit.
i have a Joyo Voodoo Octave pedal, it sounds very close like this one, and i couldn’t feel the octave either. i thought i got a broken new pedal until i saw this video, realized these clones have the same issues...
What defect? I bought a Voodoo Octave about 6 years ago and I was blown away by the octave fuzz tones. I still consider it one of the best sounding octave fuzz pedals I've ever heard or played.
Sim.

I dont usually comment on demos but this one is exceptional. Hendrix and sabbath riffs are what I need to hear.
