Too bad these guys didn't write a book about their early years. All three have great sense of humor and a knack for storytelling. Many of their songs are short stories.
It wasn't written by the Bee Gees but there is a biography on them by David N. Meyer. I found it in my local library. There were things in there that I didn't know, like Barry hadn't spoken to Robin for a whole year before he died. He didn't know Robin was dying until someone told him and he rushed to be by his side. That may explain why he cried in an interview not long after Robin's death. He probably had a lot of guilt. It's a great book that all BGs fans should read. There is also a movie, How Do You Mend a Broken Heart, that is the BGs story.
@@mariekeung7187 It's heart breaking that they did not speak to each other ! The brothers bonds are not breakable... Thank you for letting all the BG fans know.
@@Paul-sl9zm I don't recall exactly, but there was tension between them through the years. It is well known that Robin wanted to continue performing with Barry as the Bee Gees after Maurice passed away but Barry didn't. So that may have caused tension, as well. In an interview on a Sunday news show shortly after Robin's passing, Barry teared up as he admitted the guilt he carried that he was not getting along with each brother at the time of each of their passing. That was very sad.
I read they had to leave Manchester due to especially Robin’s love for fire. So moved to Australia. That is when there was less to do destructively, they focused on music, including their sister Leslie. She had a great voice but opted for a more conventional life. All brothers sense of humor and quick wit is awesome.
Apparently the police told their parent to get them out of Manchester before they really did something really bad. Also Hugh wasn't getting as much band work hence he had to take a second job, so he was working during the day, coming home getting changed & going out to work in a band at a club, dye to it being the mud to late 50's music halls were changing. You could get a ticket to Australia for £10 per person & off they went, it was warmer too. The rest is common knowledge. When Robin left the band, there were a few gigs where where big sister Lesley stood in Robins place, until he came back. I sometimes wonder if she was annoyed at Robin for coming back, as it meant she had to step aside to let Robin back in. It makes you wonder how the band would have progressed had she refused to step aside.
He missed them because he was too busy waving, smiling and saying hello to a hundred plus more fans, ladies and gentlemen both! I am sorry about your short sidedness.
You guys are so much fun to watch you know he either I'm tired or hungry I don't even care just to watch you guys and I'll I especially with Robin and fairy Maniac what is that I love you guys😘
Kids get into trouble when they're bored. You figure they were smart kids, but their mother had like 4 kids in a 4 year period. She's probably busy taking care of things around the house. Dad was working. So they got bored.
I have to wonder what the fire was symbolic of. It had to be something. Also, didn't Barry buy Johnny and June Cash's house after they passed away - and then in the middle of remodeling, it burned Down?! 😳
I would listen to my dads vinyls and I always thought this group was a black group when I was younger because in my young dumb head I thought only black people fucked with disco or say jazz etc etc it wasn’t until highschool(99) that I realized it was a fucking white dude singing hahaha those realizations are truly hilarious when looked back at
The Bee Gees are absolutely the greatest they are above and better then any words I can say love them forever
Oh yes, you're right. Bee Gees are the greatest.

Did the book mention why Barry didn't speak to Robin?

Best. Interview. EVER
This was a great interview-so funny!
Robin is so oblivious. He didn't notice the ladies as he waltzed right passed them.
He missed them because he was too busy waving, smiling and saying hello to a hundred plus more fans, ladies and gentlemen both! I am sorry about your short sidedness.
Yes, he often was oblivious to other guests on shows like that. I love the guy, but he did have some issues with recognizing small courtesies.
Robin was the greatest,
That Devil Barry had to take a sneaky look back at Hallie Berry . Loved it !
:))
Adoro a rizada de Barry😍😍
Ha ha bee gees ❤️ so funny

I love bee gees Isabel
Amo a risada do Barry 🥰😄
Erlinda Caguiat - Are you asking what a "pyromaniac" is? It's a fire bug, someone who likes to burn things down. Robin was known for that as a kid!
Miss you Jay...
Where can we see the full interview?
Yes I would love to see it, love them

Leno needs to shut up more and let his guests talk.
